The Promenade along the viale Miranai d'Italia presents a beautiful view of the town, harbour and marina. For a long walk it is possible to stroll along the sea front back to the town centre and then along the Promenade that runs along the beach. The town appears quite modern, with good shops and a daily market selling fruit and vegetables. Delightful.

Not surprisingly there is a fort capping this dominating promontory. Although it may be picturesque it is not accessible. We love the places that purvey local foodstuffs and spices in the town. It is a heady explosion of color and aromas and loud friendly conversation.

We had a great boat trip around the Gargano peninsula. We so many grottos and actually drove into several which was very exciting. The price was extremely reasonable for what you got. The only negative was the commentator spoke only Italian which we did not understand.

The vignanotica beach is very beautiful, and well worth a visit.
Its covered with small stones, and you it's advised that you bring bathing shoes, also sold in many shops.
After 2~3 pm most of the beach lays in the shadow of the surrounding cliffs, and only the paid beach is in the sun.
The is different to reach, and prepare for and interesting downhill drive to reach it.
The parking is 5 euro, same as many other beach parkings along the coast.

this is a little walk from the nearest road - but worth it. A lovely long (400m) beach with stunning white cliffs
We had it all to ourselves most of the time - with a warm Adriatic lovely for swimming in October. Not so sure I'd want to be there in the high season - heat and possible crowds!

These mechanisms are on the most peaceful places along the coast. Some are still being used today, and one can sit next to a trabucco at sunset, and simply imagine the generations of fishing which happened here. One can also ride (boat ride) along the near coast, and see many installations . . simply beautiful.

Every year on the patron saint's day there is a horse race on this beach. The event is welcomed and followed by locals and many tourists go and see it. We were there by chance and enjoyed the atmosphere, the crowd was disciplined and motivated. We had already been to the place in summer, the water is clean and you can have nice walks on the beach.

The beach is OK. Nice and big, shallow sea, good parking - all is perfect if you are here in low season when the sea is cold In the summer there must be milions of sunbathing people and the italians harvet money from them. In the end - what to do here in April or May? The Gargano park woods are much much better

So many Mediterranean Beaches are small and rocky this broad expanse of clean sand feels almost like Huntington Beach . It's organized and you'll probably want a chaise lounge, but no worries, the beach is so broad you won't have neighbors right on top of you. I try to get in a swim wherever we go, and I'll remember Vieste for the crystal clear water, more than 20 ft of visibility
