The very point where portuguese celebrate their fists mess when they discovered Brazil in 1500 The place is historic more than touristic, but beach also nice and clean like most of the Beaches in bahia

Guaiu Beach

It is worth the drive north of Porto Seguro. The beach is very beautiful. It has only 2 places to eat: one is pricy, the other modest. We chose the modest one and had no regrets. Food was very good!
Since we went on low season, it was very empty. Just us (me and my husband) and another tourist couple we met there.

Lovely almost desert beach, the perfect place to escape the Porto Seguro madness. Come if you want to relax and soak in the sun, forget all the excitement and business of other beach places.

Reviewed By Ivan S - Dongguan, China

Historic spot on the top of a hill, where you can see and guess the native view of portuguese arriving in Brazil
As soon as you arrive a group of boys arrive to offer guided tour
they tell you a memorised script, and if you interrupt them they need to start from some known point and restart. Funny, they sometimes disturb by insistence but, OK they try to offer service

I took the schooner out to this point, with my snorkeling gear. Huge disappointment, crowded boring boat ride, not much to see when I got there. It's kind of a tourist trap I'm afraid to say. I'd say go privately if you possibly can.

Fazenda Mae Tereza

Reviewed By Vania B - Portao, RS

Arakakai Beach

Reviewed By svtrips - Zhengzhou

You can see the rain showers descending on the Atlantic in one minute, then see the clouds disappear as the temperatures warm during sunrise. There are two chances each day to see the ocean rise, then fall, which brings new shorelines, seashells, birds, and passersby's . Kids love hiking the rocky shelfs to the north, then play in the sandy bottom beach to the south... all within 100 meters. Surfers also love the southern edge in the early AM. The water temps are nearly constant throughout the year, refreshing, and welcoming. You cant miss this gem when in Cabralia.
