Reviewed By Zixinxin - Singapore, Singapore

I am a beginner in horse riding and have taken a few beginner lessons in Singapore from various horse centers. But somehow something was lacking from the lessons and the trainers. One day, my friend and I were looking for a short getaway and that was where we found Havana Horses online. Upon Reading the description on the website, we had a very good feeling about the place. But what Anna and Havedz offered and shown us were far beyond what we have expected. Welcome to the inner world of horses!
The place:
Havana Horses has a large arena of land, very beautiful and spacious. The horses are kept as a herd, like how horses are suppose to be in their most natural state. This is very important for the well being of the horses. They have the necessary equipment for horse riding so if you do not have any, that will not be a problem.
The horses:
All the beautiful horses in Havana Horses has their own unique personalities, some like to graze, some like to roll in the sand, some even like to just lay on the sand to relax. They are full of vigor if you get the chance to see them play with each other. I find the horses relationships dynamic with each other very interesting. You can definitely see they are very healthy, happy and contented there.
The training:
Their training styles are totally different from what I have learn in Singapore. They do not train the horses or us(the students) mechanically. Instead, we get to learn about how horses behave and communicate. We have to first be and think like horses to be able to communicate and have a harmonious relationship with them. We do some interesting exercises with our horses before mounting them. In the beginning, we ride without a saddle. Before starting our lesson we also do some exercises to find our seat balance. I think this was such an important exercise to do! In a short 2 days, we learn much more than we ever get to learn in Singapore. Everything they show us are just amazing. Training with Anna and Havedz really open my eyes, riding a horse is not just about controlling them, it is about building a relationship, trust and being one with your horse. As I have mentioned, I am a very beginner in horse riding and rarely exercise, thus my thighs muscles ache the next day but this was good exercise!
The people:
Do I need to say more? Anna and Havedz are such wonderful teachers. I can feel a connection with them which I cannot with the trainers in Singapore. I can feel that they genuinely love what they do, in their dedication and passion towards horses and also imparting their knowledge. Not everyone can be a teacher but they have the gift of teaching. They are very friendly, warm and hospitable and make me feel like I am not only just student but also a friend. They have really set a new benchmark on where to learn horse riding now. A small side note, their children are very cute!
Misc:
They offer lunch and drinks if you take up the horsemanship course with them. Their lunch and drinks are super delectable but healthy at the same time. I really enjoyed them. My friend and I choose to take a 1 hour trail ride at the end of my second day lesson and thoroughly enjoyed it. We went through a forest trail and along the way we get to see how Javanese there live and also a bit about their culture. They are really very friendly. The whole experience is therapeutic and meaningful for me.
In conclusion, I really urge horse lovers anywhere to definitely try out Havana Horses. These past 2 days, I feel that not only I learn more about horses and horse riding, I learn more about myself and my traits as well. For that I am grateful that I have taken lessons at Havana Horses and also cross path with Anna and Havedz. I will never forget the wonderful experiences/memories I have over there even though it is just a short 2 days. I don't think you will too.

Mount Merbabu

Climbing Mount Merbabu isn't an easy trek but is extremely rewarding when you see the view from the Top of the mountain. It takes roughly 7-8 hours to reach the summit from Base Camp. But me and my friend decided to camp. So we camp on "Pos 3".
Aniwei, the popular route option is to start from SELO. They say it's easier than the other route.
Im with 2 friends and 1 porter, We started at 5pm, camp at 7.30ish pm. Awake at 3am and at 4am go to reach the summit for sunrise. Unfortunately, we're to late, i miss the sunrise. And there's fog over the top for a while. Thanks God, for several minutes the fog is gone. It's clear like cloude everywhere. So pretty!
Definitely will come back again, try another route.

This attraction has good collection of locomotives. During holiday and weekend, you might also take 1 hour of diesel train journey using old wooden passenger train.
Not many good choices of place for lunch, you need to find place outside museum.
There is no guide during my visit there, so you need find the details by yourself.
Good for children. A lot of sections is outdoor, so be careful if it's raining. Normally a family will spend time here between 45 mins - 1.5 hour. Depending on whether you are a fan of locomotive or not :)

Kali Pancur Waterfall

Reviewed By theo1006 - Mijas, Spain

We come here often to see the fall from across the ravine. But we do not every time go down the stairs to the bottom. Why, it is more or less 850 steps as well as one can count uneven and broken stairs. Once at the foot of the fall one can take a refreshing bath, but before one has come up one is quite hot and sweaty again! Even if halfway up one takes another bath at the sacred spring located there. "Chapeau" for the locals who climb the stairs every day with a heavy load of fodder for their livestock!
It is best to visit the waterfall in the rainy season, early after sunrise. Then (when it is not cloudy), the sun shines full on the cliff with the fall.
The entrance to the stairway down into the ravine is at Nogosaren village, about 14 km from Salatiga. Here is a parking and a gate where you have to pay a small fee for the upkeep of the stairs.
Incidentally, the valley of Pancur Creek downstream of the fall offers some fine nature walks. Start at Kebumen on the road from Salatiga to Banyubiru. With some effort you can reach the foot of the fall or the top of the stairs.
