We just did the 2 day/ 1 night cruise and it was absolutely sensational. The staff from Hera Cruises ensured our every need was meet and the service was very personalised. The boat was magnificent, comfortable beds, beautifully decorated rooms and it felt like we were in a hotel. Halong Bay is gorgeous and we were blessed with the weather. I would definitely book with this company again!

Aphrodite Cruises

The very first luxury boutique 5 star cruises in Halong bay.

I participated in a 2-day 1-night cruise on Aphrodite boat. This boat is a little more expensive than other boats offering similar services, but I chose Aphrodite because of the overwhelming good rating it has received on TripAdvisor. Man, I’m so happy I made this decision, every dollar i spent was worth it. The boat is well maintained in good shape, the crew were very warm and helpful, the room was elegantly prepared, very clean and smelled fresh. On top of shiny white linens, fresh rose pedals scattered. The room had a bottle of champagne and fresh fruits. The meals on the boat were excellent, totally exceeding my expectation for meals on a cruise boat. And when I finished my lunch, one of the crew came over, asked me how it was and whether I wanted more. I said I could use a little bit more roast beef If it was convenient. She went back and told the chef, And the chef prepared another whole plate of roast beef for me. That was how they took care of their customers, I was very impressed. The view on the boat was great, the bay is like a picture slowly revealing itself in front of your eyes, but this cruise is even more impressive and we became friends with the crew members after one day. This is truly a five-star experience!

Bai Tu Long Bay

Bai Tu Long Bay is the name of an area located in the east of Halong Bay Vietnam. Although it shares many similar geological characters with Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay is considered as off the beaten tourist track with many deserted and pristine Beaches, no less impressive karst Mountains. The Bay has a rich biodiversity with two ecosystems: a tropical, moist, evergreen rainforest ecosystem; and a marine and coastal ecosystem. The area has scarcely seen any tourist development. A large number of guests, through online research, wish to visit the Bai Tu Long Bay because it is much less crowded than Halong Bay. The only disadvantage is that it does not have many grottos. The nearest place for a visit (Vung Vieng Fishing village) is at around 20 km from tourist port.

What a dream come true! The cruise on the bay was special from start to finish. The staff was polite and helpful, and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious, the views breathtaking. The boat and cabin were clean and comfortable. There was something to enjoy for the entire family. We went cave exploring, kayaking, took tai chi class, and experienced a tea ceremony. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I’m grateful to the staff for making our experience so beautiful.

We had an excellent cruise and it was especially good timing at the end of our holiday so we could really relax after all the hectic three weeks before. Staff were really friendly and observant that I didn’t like a lot of sea food and had already arranged another main meal option before I asked about it.
Only disappointing thing was we were in mist for most of the time but the sun came out on the last day. Would totally recommend the 2 nights as you could really wind down. Well organised and transport there and back no problem. Loved the bay and awesome photo opportunities.

Halong Bay

Reviewed By Matt M - England, United Kingdom

We were apprehensive about Halong in general and almost didn't visit. Such a great experience! Stayed overnight and you would not know you were on a boat.
Booked with Maya Cruises through our hotel - They use a different port which means less time in the car (albeit a amazing Mercedes minbus with wifi, aircon, reclining leather seats and charging ports) and slightly more time at sea!
We were first on the fisherman's rowing tour of the caves in the morning. A bit of rubbish did not ruin it, learnt a lot about the people that live on the water, kayaking cooking classes, quiet spot to anchor overnight and Tai Chi in the morning. The manager of the cruise, and who also took the Tai Chi class was a pleasure.
Older American couple on our tour were annoying though, very loud and overbearing (like most we encountered in Asia), letting everyone around them know they were American and everything about their life very quickly.
Great experience at Halong Bay and with Maya Cruises.

Halong Bay is incredible, so it is important to cruise confortably at Au Co cruises. We loved the cabines, the crew and of course the views! Many activities on board! Be sure to check if you can make it to the end by asking the crew members if you to want to quit the kayak session; it lleads you to a cave where it might be difficult to go back if the tide is too full) The beach is also incredible! The cycling is fabulous, you get the chance to contact the nature, and watch how a Vietnamese village lives. This cruise takes you much further than the other cruises go, making the experience worth while! On the first day there are too many boats around, but on the second day, because not all the cruises have this particularly license, you can peacefully enjoy the surroundings, and trust me, UNESCO s protection was right! Food on board is also very good.We ve enjoyed the cruise very much and we highly recommend it!

Sung Sot Cave

Situated in the centre of the UNESCO-declared World Heritage area, the Sung Sôt or Surprise Grotto is on Bo Hòn Island, and is one of the finest and widest grottoes of Ha Long Bay.Ascending to the grotto, the way is covered by trees and foliage, and consists of great paved stone blocks.Inside, it is partitioned into two chambers; the first one being similar to a wide theatre hall. Many stalactites hang from the high ceiling, with numerous possible forms and shapes.

Never expected to see such a beautiful large cave. Some of the negative things first. Nobody explained to the people that it was a difficult walk until you arrived at the site. Several people turned around and left disappointed because nobody on the boat explained that the walk was very difficult. If you can walk, this is a beautiful and worth while adventure. If is very crowded because all the boats arrive at the same time and you have 100's of people walking the same path making such a beautiful place over crowded. It is very large and it can handle a lot of people but once again this site should be limited on the amount of people allowed in one day. Loved the view and happy I did go.
