While the rest of our group took in the Mari Kart attraction, my son wanted to come to Kidzania. We came during "English" speaking day (which if you are looking for more direction in English--don't hold your breath). However, for whatever lack communication, my son had a blast and was able to do many of the attractions. The only downside is that we were not told what or where the "money" could be used toward and by the time we figured it out, all the small shops or attractions were closed (we went to the evening session). My son still talks about this to everyone though so all the little ruses made up for it.

A spectacular fire ritual takes place very 2 hours from 9am to 5pm everyday; there are digital billboard displays the ritual schedule; there is a veiwing platform for audience. But, don't mistake the monks for performers or the ritual for an entertainment.
The majority of people who attend the ceremony are Japanese, they come here to pray and chant solemnly. Some websites and brochures describe the ritual as a show, I thihk they are totally lacking respect.
Don't complain the multi storey new hall lacks of English description for all beautiful exhibits. This is because this is not a tourist attraction but a unique temple to observe the Japanese culture closely. Don't miss out the Sanskrit on the facade of the new hall, a very unsual feature I haven't seen else where in Japan yet.

Some interesting Warhol, Hockney and Lichtenstein pieces, however the overall number of pieces was comparatively small.
We came especially for the Pixar exhibition, but despite being sold tickets with no warning, we saw the queue lead not just around the entire foyer, but snaking and looping outside! We asked for a refund after finding out that the queue was over 2 hours long!
It is a long slog from the metro to get here - a taxi would be more welcome on a hot day.

Kameido Tenjinsha

Reviewed By hfot2 - Vermont

At the end of our 2017 sakura trip we headed to the Wisteria Festival (Fuji Matsuri) at Kameido Tenjin Shrine, a 15 minute walk from Kameido Station on the Sobu Line in Tokyo.
The “festival” comprised several dozen stalls selling food, local specialities, religious souvenirs, and all sorts of trinkets.  We visited on a weekday and the shrine was bustling with visitors - I can only imagine what a weekend visit would be like.
The wisteria vines are supposed to bloom from the middle of April to the first week in May.  We visited the last week in April in 2016 and again in 2017. We were not overly impressed with what we saw in either year, though the wisteria in 2017 were fuller than those of 2016.  Our photos look better than the reality of the blossoms, because you can stand in just the right place and capture the fullest blooms.
We found much to photograph: arched vermillion bridges; a large pond with turtles, koi, ducks, and one egret; traditional shrine buildings and, of course, pendant wisteria flowers attracting giant bees and tourists alike.
On our most recent visit, I did confirm that I really do not like the perfume of wisteria and our 2017 visit will probably be our last.
Tips for visitors:
If you walk the back streets from the station to the shrine, it’s more interesting with several photo ops along the way. Stop at the supermarket in the large housing complex for some fresh fruit and take a peek into the day care center next door.
Do note that some of the pergolas supporting the climbing vines are plastic tree trunks; but this unfortunate, tacky feature can be overlooked if you focus on the blossoms.
During the festival, the shrine and the wisteria pergolas are illuminated at night.
If the bridge over the pond looks familiar, it may be because many Japanese painters, including Edo period artists Hiroshige and Hokusai, immortalized the Kameido Tenjin Shrine in woodblock prints.
