The center was great. Had lots of outside viewing areas as well as different options inside. Could see a movie presentation of the area as well as eat or drink at the restaurant or purchase just about any type of souvenir possible relating to Norway or North Cape. We took an ATV tour arranged through our cruise ship and it now is the high spot of our trip. We had a rare, relatively warm day under nearly cloudless skies which made the experience even better. Our guide was great; he managed to get a collection of 20 mostly senior citizens suited up and underway in short order. He led us up to the top of a nearby mountain from which we had a great view of Honningsvåg. The drive was a relatively easy one, even if you have no ATVing experience. As an extra plus we even got a great view of a group of reindeer. I'd love to go back and go snowmobiling with him.

We visited the Artico Bar in the late afternoon. We thought it was really a fun experience, and had 2 drinks ( included in the fee). The fact of not being able to have an alcoholic drink didn't disturb as the drinks were really tasty. Service was very friendly.

This Saint Bernard and his owner, a ship captain, began life as civilians and ended it as sailors for the Norwegian Forces. The dog had his own bus pass so that, when he went to town from the ship to round up the crew before curfew, he could ride the bus (by himself). He knew where to find his mates! He also saved lives, conquered foes, stopped fights, and watched over the crew. Superior intelligence!
The statue is right in front of the Arctic Souvenir Shop. Cruise ships and tours stop here.

The gallery with artwork and handcrafts by a local artist Erica K.Haugli. The entrance of the gallery is appealing already. There are rainboots with flowers in them. I was told that the artist gathered boots thrown by somebody just on the road sides and used them for that project. Inside the gallery is filled with colours and joy, I would say. Collages, mosaics, jewellery, water colours, paintings, handicrafts. In the shop I saw imprints of the artists work sold as posters, post cards. But there are several original pieces for sale too. I left the gallery as an owner of one work of art.

Went to Honningsvag on a cruise and found the Tourist information center right at the end of the dock. This was helpful for a lot of people but I had booked a private fishing tour with Arctic Fishing & King Crab Adventures. Peter the owner met us on time at the information center and he was a great captain and an excellent fisherman! First we did about a 10 minute boat ride and stopped where we caught a bunch of Mackerel. We kept one and then went over to where he keeps a king crab trap. Peter pulled it up and we got to see the last one he had, and it was huge! He held it up and explained about the crab and how they live, and then we took some great pictures. I felt like I was doing “Deadliest Catch” but without all the rough seas! Next we went out into deeper waters, only about another 10min ride and we started catching 8-12lb Cod! He had the lines set with 2 lures and almost every time we brought them up we had two on the line. We couldn’t get the lines in fast enough! As soon as we dropped to the bottom, we were hauling up two fish. Let me tell you after hauling up 30-40 fish we had had enough! We did catch and release because I had been informed by the wait staff onboard that the chef would not prepare fish from the outside. In fact I also found out that I wouldn’t be allowed to bring it onboard. Oh well, it sue was fun catching them.
