Hartenbos is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is located some 45 kilometres outside George, South Africa. It belongs, together with 20 other settlements, to the Mossel Bay Local Municipality. Originally a farm, the South African Railways and Harbours turned it into a holiday resort for their lower-rung employees in 1933.

Had a great time on the water slide while my daughter played on the mamothly big jungle gym close by. The water was reasonably warmer and the slide slippery as usual. Great place to spend the afternoon with loved ones. Loved the Seating areas and the put put course. Toilets and dressing facilities are a huge bonus.

The place offers outstanding views! Depending on the trail you take, it can be tiring. Also, in the morning, the ants in the way are annoying! Even after used insect repellent, the get you. In the afternoon, when we came back, we did not see them.

A once in a life time experience. Walk alongside Africa's most majestic predator. The "walking with lions" encounter is an opportunity to interact with young lions. The walks take approximately one hour to complete - depending on how fast the lions are prepared to amble - and a maximum of eight - ten guests can be hosted on each excursion.No leashes, No Collars, just a natural African Adventure.

Having seen lions from the safety of a jeep, getting to walk with (well behind really) them was unmissable. It was a lovely experience to be able to stroll along behind them and ask questions of the knowledgeable guide. The lions seemed well trained - they knew where to stop for photo opportunities. And boy did we get some photos. The guide took loads of them for each of us on our phones so we had plenty to show our amazed friends back home. There were five of us in our group, walking with two lions, one guide and three handlers. We felt safe at all times. A must do it you are in the area.

The museum consists of more then 640 laundry irons, mostly rare and some only existing examples left. Also more then 50 rare washing machines and mangles dated back from the 1800, some are claimed to be of the only remaining in the world. The museum are packed with other rare antique laundry related items. Some non-laundry related items are also included.

This museum, housed on the property of a bona fide laundry business, is an outstanding private collection of much merit. It has been lovingly amassed by genuine collectors who now provide access to their treasures for a nominal fee. I don't think there is anything quite like it elsewhere. What a joyous find.

This is a fascinating collection of items from the time of the Great Trek through to the centenary celebrations of the event in 1938. My husband's grandfather was one of the centenary celebration's organisers, who participated in the re-enactment of the original trek. This period of history has been well documented and displayed. The exhibits have been well looked after , the stone floors gleamingly clean!
At R5.00 per person entry fee, their running costs can hardly be covered, so donations are suggested but one trusts that this collection will still be able to be appreciated by generations to come.

A great source of information about the voyages of discovery. It really highlights how extraordinary these early explorers were setting off into the unknown in the smallest of vessels. The mind boggles. The development of cartography is also well covered - all amazing and very well done.

Our tasting venue is the only physical location where you can enjoy our wines. We also offer authentic Portuguese food and our large fire place ensures a cozy atmosphere even in the coldest weather. There is also a play area for kids.

We got to learn so much about wines, south african culture and cuisine. The blends of the wines were simply amazing.
The dessert wines were our favorite and we would love to get some bottles delivered to our country soon.

It's a must when you are in Mossel Bay. You only go there for the view. You will see the whole of Mossel Bay and is Spectacular. When we were up there a couple got engaged.
