The weather was rough and we could observe neither view of the Devil's Bridge nor the surrounding scenery. Make sure you choose a clear-sky day! All what we could see was the large mountain drawing illustrating the story of the farmer, the devil and the goat.

The Oberalp pass is the highlight of the train journey "Glacier express". It has an artificial lake which is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to catch a breathtaking photograph with a pristine reflection of a mountain on a lake. The winding of the train to Andermatt is also another fantastic experience.

Went here for tobogganing, had a wonderful time. The skies where blue and the ground white. Bought a day ticket for the chairlift and came down the mountain many times. The sledges here where very easy to control as you used your body weight to tilt the sledge to turn it. Cannot wait to do it again

We spent our last day in Andermatt with Han from Alpine Sports. Peter helped arrange everything and perfectly interpreted our wishes and skiing skills to make the day spectacular. Even though there wasn’t any real powder, skiing resort off-pist on Gemsstock was really great. We found fresh snow and had a lot of fun. We spent a full day and took a long ride back. We have skied with mountain guides a number of times, but never with a ski instructor. The upside is that they can help you improve. Han did a great job here. We really improved during the day which made the experience even better. You might feel that it is a lot of money for one day, but trust me it is worth it. With a guide you find the best spots and you are safe. Han knew the mountain inside out. If you don’t have equipment you can rent it in the village and Peter will be happy to help you out.
Just go for it and have fun :)

Base Camp Andermatt

Reviewed By Rowanand

As long as you have the ability to climb up the piste (probably in the dark with luggage - suitable footwear recommended) you'll love Base Camp Andermatt. This hostel has mostly shared rooms with bunks but we stayed in Room U1 - a lovely private room with a double bed. There is a clean shared bathroom and well equipped kitchen. The Sauna was excellent overlooking the piste. If a black run frightens you then wait till you get a typical bill in a Swiss restaurant or hotel - you're heart may stop! Base Camp provides an affordable place to stay in Andermatt, my favorite resort.

Starting in Oberalppass take the trail to felliluecke.
The sign says 1.5 hours, but that's if you are Swiss walking (two steps to inhale).
It took us 3 hours up and two hours down, we are not the best hikers and we were not too well equipped. however, it was worth every drop of sweat!
Take it and you will not regret it.
We were parents with two boys six and nine.
