Not for the faint hearted 695 steps each way down a very steep cliff to the sea and caves. Unfortunately for us there was not a guided tour vacancy available half an hour. If you have a problem with heights or walking up and down steep steps then don't venture down to the sea and caves.

This place took us by surprise! It was a highlight of a two month trip for our family (two boys, ages 6 and 8). Our "briefing" regarding the use of our equipment was conducted in Italian, but a very brief "briefing" was relayed in English. It was enough to get our kids comfortable using the equipment. We spent two solid hours with our kids testing their courage, physical capabilities and team work. It was great fun, well run and we would highly recommend this place!

We've probably been on at least 10 Beaches in Sardinia during our trip.
Some have been very good,some good and some just ok.However this one ticked all the boxes....turquoise sea, crescent beach, lovely sand, not too busy, free ample parking (out of principle I hate paying 1 Euro an hour for beach parking) and a bar at the end of the beach. The only thing missing was a bit shade at the back of the beach (but a Sun umbrello sorts that)
Very shallow warm water for about 30 metres, and a few fish about.
Having said all this, we were here 3days ago with the wind really churning up the sea and impossible to sit on the beach....however today was just right. By far the best beach we've been on in Sardinia.
I consider that Sardinian Beaches are not as good as those in Corsica...just saying!!!

As you walk through old town Alghero it is worthwhile to take a break and visit the Franciscan Church. It is relatively plain as far as churches go, in accordance with the Franciscans pledge of poverty. The facility exudes a sense of Tranquility and peace.

This is a nice sand beach in Sardinia, close to Alghero. Plenty of pines are growing there, so you can have nice shade without renting an umbrella.

This beach is one of the best Beaches near Alghero. 1200 meters long with excellent views of Fertilia, Alghero bay and the tiny island Isola della Maddalenetta 1.5 kilometers off the coast.
The backdrop is of beautiful sand dunes and a shady pine forest ideal for a retreat when the sun gets too hot.
It’s an ideal place for families with clean white sand and shallow crystal clear waters. There are sun loungers for hire and snack bars for drinks and gelati all along the beach.
There is easy access for strollers and wheelchairs and it has a wooden walkway ideal for walking along the sea shore.
Parking is available and is free off season.

A very pretty beach with an overlooking tower to make it even nicer. It's a bit rocky to get in the water but worth it.

There are restaurants and apparently possibility to rent sun chairs and have showers (closed when we arrived, on a Wednesday in October at 5 p.m.). Not a lot of people at that time, but the beach still looks a bit too touristic and not very wild, except perhaps on the south side, near some rocks. On the other hand, water is marvelous and you can see a lot of big silver fishes even without snorkeling.

The main room in the tower is used for exhibits and next to its entrance, there is a door with stairs leading to the first floor and finally to the roof (one need to climb two floors to reach the roof). From there, one has a good view of Alghero and its roofs including the sea.
