A very interesting and well designed museum with a variety of exhibits ranging from the sciences & space to natural history to local and international culture... Could easily spend a whole day here and only touch the surface. Our 2yr old loved the dinasaur exhibit as well as the many interactive displays. Will defenitly return again [maybe without the little one ;-) ]

Admittedly were lucky to be visiting during the Taiwan Biennale, which was superb. But putting aside the current major exhibition, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts is a great example of a public art space. In particular its permanent exhibitions on the third floor with exemplary accessibility aids, has to be commended. Loved our visit, and will definitely return.

An amazingly unforgettable pureland with fruitful ecological environment , colorly beautiful landscape and unique culture. Tunghai University is one of the must-go-list in your itinerary if you travel to Taichung, Taiwan! It's because you can see the nice architecture building as well as Luce Memorial Chapel! They have sell the fresh and yummy milk ice-cream and yogurt which manufactured by this campus' dairy shop! This campus is clean and fresh air then you can take a deep breath and relax at here! It's an excited travelling experience when you visit to Tunghai University!

This is THE place to go to view beautiful sunset against a backdrop of windmills. The place is windy (obviously!) and packed with people all waiting to catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunset. There is a boardwalk over the wetlands (where tiny crabs can be seen scrambling..) and although there are loads of people, you can still see the sun slowly disappearing over the horizon ! Go early to grab a seat on the boardwalk, dangle your legs over the boardwalk, enjoy the wind and just wait ... it's worth a visit if you are in the vicinity.

At 01:47AM on September 21, 1999, the central part of Taiwan was struck by an earthquake that registered 7.3 on the Richter Scale. The resultant loss of life and damage to property put it among the worst natural disasters of the past century in Taiwan. In the wake of the 921 disaster, the local government decided to preserve some of the phenomena related to the earthquake such as slips in the fault line, collapsed school structures, raised river beds and other selected locations, to serve as reminders for the public of the need to prepare for such disasters and to be ready to provide emergency rescue services. With the rebuilding of Kwangfu Junior High on its present site, the Earthquake Memorial Museum was renamed the 921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan on February 13, 2001. The new plan retains the original sites as a record of the damage wrought by the earthquake, and it also adds educational facilities designed to inform the public and school children about earthquakes and disaster readiness.

This is well worth your time. We took a cab drive here and back. The museum is built around the ruins of a junior high school, where luckily no one was killed due to the quake happening in the middle of the night. The displays and signs are very interesting, with areas educating visitors on earthquakes, tsunamis, being prepared and what went wrong. There is an area that is free, which includes the snack bar/cafe, so if you want to eat there keep your ticket handy to get back into the paid area. We enjoyed the museum and the snack bar and wished we had more time to explore.

As soon as I stepped in this temple, I feel that this place is magical, as this temple is really crowded with visitors & followers.. and the other God/Goddess visiting from other temple to here is nonstop... and this is very interesting because as God/Goddess visiting here, they will bring on a parade of their own, it consist of possible dozen of person to parade their entrance and exit into this temple... They welcome all visitor to even go in and make prayers... no restriction... but as all temple .. please show respect and wear appropriate... This temple definite has it own charm "magic"... it doesn't matter what religion you into, just pay this temple a visit, and you will see the charm I am talking about

I brought my young family of five, two of whom were novices at cycling. The track was exceptionally friendly, yet sufficiently challenging to make it worth the while. Being able to cycle on a river spanning bridge, and a nearly 2km tunnel made the trip worth it. We went fully pedal power. The tunnel is fully lit and has pictures of what it was used for in the past along the route. As the entire is track is reserved for bicycles, it is extremely safe. Do well to avoid weekends and school holidays though. The end of the track is currently hosting an international flower festival. It is very worth a visit. Check with the bicycle rental companies on where to leave the rental bike safely (there is a light refreshment shop near the flower festival). I spent a tiny amount at the shop on snacks and refreshments after the nearly 5km route. There is another 12km track that starts at the same point. The bike rental companies are competitive and the prices reasonable for 12 speed mountain bikes.
