Sárréti Chilifarm opened its gates in 2012 as an exciting family business in the North-Eastern region of Hungary. The goals that have been set were finally came true in Tétlen with hardly 1500 inhabitants, in Hajdú-Bihar County. The Chilifarm does not only provide job opportunities for local residents, but is a unique example for every young entrepreneur as the Bogár family built up their business. According to the owner Márk Bogár, ”the family and the business are two separate sectors, even if they sometimes come together, never mix them.” Succes is, of course a family value, and without cooperation and each other’s support, succes could not have been achieved. The young entrepreneur often refers with gratitude to his grandparents with whom he went regularly to the market as a child, or his parents, whose advice is still an important guide in the business today.

The Aquaticum Mediterranean Pleasure Bath is situated in the heart of the Debrecen's Great Forest. This special facility is located in a domed shaped hall measuring 66 m diameter over, which creates with his rich tropical vegetation and special fun elements a summer feeling for each day of the year. The water paradise provides an all-day long relaxation and fun for all generations. Pools: wave pool, baby's pool, children's pool, adventure pool.
The complex is easily reached by the number 1 streetcar or walking thru the big forest park area. It’s a great place to chill whether alone or with family.Entry fee is very reasonable, one can get combo ticket that includes the thermal bath and the pool as well as massage, etc.You have to bring your own towels, though. They have a cafe/ restaurant inside and the food was decent.

Hortobagy is a marvellous place, the 9 hole bridge and the extra ordinary plain is inspiring. Visit during the spring or autumn bird migration and the drive in is like a bird safari. Bird Hospital Sadly many birds get hurt in the Migration But help is on hand. Whilst in Hortobagy please visit the animal park. Contrary to other reviews it IS NOT A ZOO, rather a wild bird hospital and rehabilitation Center. You can see into the operating theater, see the birds with legs and wings in splints in the indoor ward (the small will stay be hardest to forget), then see the rehabilitation cages that allow the birds to regain their strength and also a healthy fear of humans BEFORE they are released. There are all kinds from Storks to Eagles and Owls. Pay them a visit and be part of the solution! Market Excellent local market, with lots of local produce and useful and charming objects d’art including a magnificent selection of Bull whips! Csarda The Csarda (big eatery by the bridge) is lovely, great food and drinks and popular with the locals. Try the Hortobagy Pancakes with local beef as a filler. Nice and filling and supportive of the farming collective that maintains the Puszta.

As you enter the downtown area of Debrecen it is massive and impossible to miss. It is the largest Protestant Church in Hungary and it has the largest Bell of the Protestant Churches in Hungary. That is why Debrecen is called the Calvinist Rome. There were several churches which were destroyed, one before the present church burned during the Great Fire that destroyed Debrecen in 1802 and the construction of this Great Church started in 1805. The capacity is for 5000 people. The towers are 61 meters high. It is worth visiting.

The Aquaticum Medicinal and Thermal Baths offer guests pools filled with spa waters at different temperatures which come up from the ancient seabeds laid down in the Triassic Age. The iodine, bromide and hydro-carbon rich waters offer an unparalleled curative effect and give bathers refreshment and renewed energy.
It is a very nice place for families to spend some time . It is also suitable to take a bath on colder weather because inside is good temperature .

It's a quiet, calm place in the centre of the town, near the Spa. Before Christmas it was decorated with christmas trees and a reindeer with a sledge. It's got a special atmosphere especially in the evening when everything is illuminated. There are some cafes and restaurants nearby. we liked walking there.
