The 10 Best Things to do Good for Big Groups in Ljubljana, Upper Carniola Region

October 4, 2021 Deane Carmody

Slovenia, wedged between Austria and Italy, has always been proud of its unique heritage. The capital, Ljubljana, is a perfect example of this blend of German, Mediterranean, and Slovenian culture. The old town is a blend of Baroque, Renaissance, and Art Nouveau buildings, watched over by a medieval castle. Cut through the gardens of Tivoli Park to the National Museum of Contemporary History for a history of modern Slovenia, featuring crumbled statues of Stalin and a recreation of a WWI trench.

The Key Escape Room Ljubljana

Incredible and thrilling escape room in the heart of Ljubljana. THE KEY is an escape room, a very popular worldwide spread entertainment. It requires teamwork, concentration, creativity, communication and observation. 1. DA VINCI & SHERLOCK ROOM: Since Leonardo DaVinci was one of the greatest minds and had many secrets hidden and coded into his creations, he gave us the inspiration for our first room. By visiting us, you will enter into a small part of his life. Your main goal in his room will be to discover the key of his time machine. When you will find it, you will time travel approximately 400 years into the future, to the world of the most famous detective of all times, Sherlock Holmes. You will enter Sherlock's room. The famous detective gave us the inspiration for the second room in this game. Sherlock is known for his careful, logical thinking and ability to adapt to any situation, which always leads to the solution. This room consists of various puzzles, logical connections, hidden objects, which logically follow and lead you towards the final solution, the key, which takes you back to freedom. You have 70 min to escape. If you have a bigger group (10-12 persons) you can play a fun adventure called ''the battle''. 2. WONDERLAND ROOM: The Wonderland theme came to our thoughts, after we've seen how the kids enjoy in our fun activity. We put a lot of effort and energy in designing a truly unique escape room. The adventure starts in a dungeon, from where you proceed to a fairy land. You really have to think out of the box and expect the unexpected. It can be played by kids (8-12 y) or adults, as we have two difficulty levels. We wanted puzzles, enigmas and tasks without any locks, and almost succeded, which makes the Wonderland even more challenging. Come and visit us, and we can assure you an unforgettable experience. Visit our website and book today!

Ptich

Creating memorable music experiences and city tours, Ptich is a cultural tourism project of the Urbana Vrana Institute. It is based on the community-conscious scholarly research and everyday-life experience. While adoring Slovenia’s Roman, Medieval, Austria-Hungarian and Communist periods, our tours focus also on contemporary social and cultural traits of Slovenia: its various music genres, subcultures, urban lifestyles, feminism, graffiti, street art, urban gardening, culinary traditions, Slovenian wines, craft beers etc. Ptich tries to be a relevant part of local communities, inspecting their social aspects through in-depth research and promoting their creativity through boutique city walks, bicycle tours and music trips. Coming from the authentic local culture scene, our guides combine knowledge of history and art, on the one hand, and contemporary sociology and cultural studies, on the other, to be able to provide you with the most amazing ancient and contemporary stories.

Our instructor Boris, showed us some new ways to have fun and compete against eachother, he was a good teacher and improved our skills so good that we actually got a score of 60+ and got our names on the wall whic was just a cherry on the top. Beside that he was also funny and profesional in all ways.I would defenetly recomend this to anybody who wants to spend their way a little difrent with a lot of fun. And if possible ask for Boris.

A beautiful long promenade on the bank the Ljubljanica River with plenty of places to spend your time and money. Here is the Ribji Square with the lovely fountain the Zlata Ribica restaurant, coffees, and bars everywhere, music and the fragrance of the food streaming out to the street, and the river and bridges are giving the romantic background. This part of Ljubljana is always busy, always full of life and seemingly part of it never goes to sleep. A site to visit day and night.

Cathedral of St. Nicholas (Stolnica Sv. Nikolaja)

Reviewed By Sonnymao

It's not that impressive from the outside (after seeing all the wonderful churches in Europe you tend to be too hard-to-please!) But once you step through the massive bronze doors (recent additions from Pope John Paul II's visit in 1992). Wondrous frescoes and artwork welcome you - Pink marble and frescoes by the Italian Baroque master Giulio Quaglio glow inside Ljubljana’s St. Nicholas Cathedral. It is a crime not to see this stunningly gorgeous church when you are in Ljubljana. And admission is free!
