Ashely Craniosacral Therapy....Unbelievable! Since moving to Vancouver in 2018, I frequently visit Halsa to partake in Ashley’s Craniosacral work. Her magical touch creates an ecosystem of deep relaxation, release and euphoric energy. I can not speak highly enough of the incredible work Ashley has cultivated through her practice and how it has aided me in not only processing and becoming more present with grief, uncertainty and now onwards to motivation! Also, Halsa provides an atmosphere in resemblance of a heavenly retreat in the heart of Kitsilano! Make sure you provide ample time to enjoy their tasty teas, unique collections of books and cozy couches after a Craniosacral session with Ashley!

Pocca Poca - Japanese Detox Spa

Pocca Poca offers authentic Japanese Therapy from thermal experience called Ganban-yoku - loosely translated as stone bathing to Japanese traditional massage called Shiatsu. Ganban-yoku uses rare natural stones found only in certain areas of the world. These stones are embedded in the comfortably heated flat slab beds and release therapeutic warmth to heat your body from the bones and organs. Which also promote health, healing, and relaxation.

I've had the opportunity to enjoy this spa on two different occasions. The first time was a dream, but I was able to get even more out of the experience the second time. The heated stones permeate through your body and the warmth is so healing. I highly recommend to try the private room for two people, whether it's a couple or friends, especially for the first experience so that you can talk about it. In the communal room there is no talking, but in the private room, it's okay, but usually reserved for the "cool off" moments. I went in with a sore hip and it certainly felt much better after the treatment. 90 minutes is also recommended. The time goes by fast! Arrive early and don't rush out! The staff are phenomenal!

I decided to surprise my wife and booked this Russian Banya experience for us. It was the best decision I could have made. Riv made us feel at home and the refreshment tea in between as well as the meal at the end topped up our romantic getaway. It is truly a great experience that I highly recommend to anyone. Waking up the next day, our bodies felt so good.

In the midst of the current pandemic, I was able to find a slice of heaven in St. Anne's Spa!!! Having received a gift card for the spa for my birthday, I booked the VIA train to Cobourg, where I was picked up and taken to what is probably the best spa in Ontario. Off the car and greeted by very warm and friendly staff, my "spa day" (overnights were fully booked) started with an orientation (big compliments to Wolf) and then off for a hike in the heavenly fresh air of the trails. The series of historic rock building that connect by beautifully designed English gardens, put one at ease right away. Passing by guests in robes (allowed/encouraged across the facilities), I could feel my stress slowly melt away. Fresh air walk complete, I head to lunch and enjoy a fabulous lunch (their beef is from their own naturally raised farm): what a treat! They are very generous and allow you to have more than one meal on the menu and service is always with a smile (big compliments to Supervisor Fran and Server Crystal)! While the spa is one of the best around, to their credit and the kind of welcoming tone established by the GM, there is an amazingly unpretentious, down-to-earth feel: I really felt at home within just a short while, and every staff went out of their way to support/accommodate any requests. Then off the fabulous "meditative" hot pools: aaawwwhhh...my stress just keeps melting away!!! Then to a fabulous deep tissue Swedish massage by Zach...felt so light after the treatment! Not to mention the array of complimentary massage chairs abound. All COVID protocols are in place and the whole place is super clean and comfortable. The Olympic outdoor pool was a huge treat and I found out that the property sits on its on spring water: the drinking water can't be any more pure!!!! There are good size lockers and they provide with you robes, slippers and there are many water/tea stations everywhere. I honestly can't recommend this place enough, especially their staff, including Courtney, Paul and Sheldon! BRAVO St. Anne's Spa for being a haven of calm and healing in the midst of our COVID reality!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this place...oh and make sure you try the duck confit for dinner: it will change your life!
