The Rosewood hotel is located in the hub of downtown Vancouver and combines the magnificent splendour of the Roaring 20's with contemporary design. Arts, culture, shopping, sports and business venues are just a hop-skip-and-jump away On site, a range of tempting facilities including an indoor salt-water lap pool, the Hawksworth restaurant serving up beautifully plated fresh, seasonal and local food with an Asian twist and top this all off with an award winning Spa, aptly named: Sense. Sense, a Rosewood spa is a high-end facility with a level of luxury and sophistication in keeping with the hotel itself. It is a small spa, but still a world class sanctuary offering a full range of therapies, treatments, facials as well as extensive and separate facilities for men featuring saunas and steam rooms. The intimate space is decorated using a white-and-cream colour palette with marble and dark wood furniture. Sense goes beyond standard spa therapies by offering inventive treatments that are not only relaxing and rejuvenating but reflect the unique vision of the Van City local culture. This attribute is in concert with the 'Sense of Place' mantra that is Rosewoods guiding inspiration. I pursued the Sense menu for a treatment suitable for a gentleman like me. Some therapies of interest: TIDES: a cleaning scrub and wrap combo......using seaweed extract for exfoliation, the body is wrapped in algae and glacial mud....sort of like mud wrestling; MAPLE SYRUP PEDICURE: sweet'n up those tootsies...I thought maple syrup was for pancakes and cooking; RHYTHMIC STONE MASSAGE: this was my choice ...a memorably relaxing massage warmed up with heated stones...real tension breaker; GENTLEMAN"S FACIAL: an add on because I'm a gentleman...my face felt brand new. Adjacent to the spa sits a well-appointed fittness centre offering technologically- advanced equipment, personal trainers and a glorious lap pool. These amenities are a great complement to each other and provide rejuvenation of both the physical and spiritual aspects of wellness. An adjoining exercise room was a great space for me to get some downward dog done. If you yearn to unwind in a captivating oasis with a whole raft of exclusive treatments and paired with a hi-tech fitness facility that jointly rejuvenates and inspires the senses....then try.....Sense, A Rosewood Spa...............a Sanctuary for the Senses.

I have now been to the absolute spa three times in the last couple of months and every time I go my experience gets better and better. They pull out all the stops from champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to extra care in my services themselves. Every time I’ve entered the spa I’m always greeted warmly upon my arrival. Always have great technicians to work with, who go above and beyond to ensure that I’m satisfied and that I’m relaxed when I leave. I highly recommend this spa for anyone who wants to relax and pamper themselves.
