The 10 Best Sightseeing Tours in Bhutan, Bhutan

March 11, 2022 Carley Gatson

Remote Bhutan first allowed the world a peek inside in 1974. With four millennia of habitation, the Himalayan kingdom offers a trove of archaeological treasures, including many ornate temples and dzong fortresses. Isolation has preserved the heavily Buddhist-influenced culture of the last Shangri-La.

He kept the itinerary flexible which allowed me to spend more time at places I loved. I did not have any issues right from the planning of the trip until I left the country. My guide and the drive were a very friendly and I must say they really made my trip one of the best. I highly recommend Bhutan Acorn!

Journey highlander is run by unprofessional , untrustworthy people-- Omnath Chhetri and Poor employee Januka. We had booked a complete package. They gave vouchers for very good hotels and took good amount of money & once we reached Bhutan , they changed all hotels to distant localities and newly opened cheapest ones. The Driver was supposed to know the itinery and be a guide but HE was ignorant and had no connection with Journey highlander. In ToTo, it was bad bad experience.

I wanted to travel Bhutan for a long time as I had many Bhutanese friends from my college days in Bangalore. I was finally able to pull things together and take out time for this trip to the wonderful Himalayan kingdom in 2018. To my luck I found out that one of my friends, Thinley was operating a travel company in Bhutan and he helped me arrange all the logistics. He arranged a wonderful Bhutan tour for me. The trip was amazing as I was able to meet my good old friends and explore the country of happiness with them. Some of the highlights of my tour are: • The magnificent Tiger’s Nest • Wonderful Paro valley • Excursion to the highest motorable pass of Chele La (3,988 meters) • The serene valley of Ura in Bumthang Bhutan is a paradise of natural beauty and unique culture. Every word that I heard describing this gorgeous stood true. It is a must visit place for anyone who like mountains and nature.

I booked the 60 minute paraglide with this company, when I arrived the next morning I was told that due to the weather I could only do a 30 minute paraglide but would be refunded the difference when I got back to the shop, my actual paraglide was 15-20 minutes which the pilot explained when we got back to the shop. It turned out this company wasn’t based in Pokhara an had paid a cheaper company to do the excursion, the company I had booked with had told the company I went with that they would refund the difference initially and so they had passed that message on. I was very shocked to learn when I got back that I had not flown with the company I had just paid £120 pounds too, and the women I had spoke to wasn’t the manager and couldn’t do anything for me, she called the manger of the original company who then came to the shop and shouted at me and other members of staff, I actually felt so sorry for the company I had flown with and wish I could have took the money from this horrible company and paid it directly to the company I flew with, the manger of the company I flew with apologised and wrote a letter to explain how short my time was in hope I could get the money back from tripadvisor, the manger of the company I booked with then tried to rip this up. Please don’t waste your time with this company, go directly to the shops in Pokhara for a good experience, this was sadly the worst day I had In Pokhara when every other day was amazing.
