Lillö area is located along the Helgean, just north of the center of Kristianstad. The area has vast meadows with a rich bird life. Lillö Castle was once a mighty building, five stories high, whitewashed shone out in the open, lush meadows. In popular terms, it has a little contemptuously been called "the white cow". Lillö is a visitor site in Kristianstads Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve. Borrow the key for free at naturum Vattenriket

Our son invited us to dinner at Bäckaskogs castle just outside Kristianstad one lovely, sunny evening in August 2018. We had a magic evening with a wonderful dinner, good wine and 3 dishes, absolute top class! Good service and having the dinner in the fantastic interior at the castle made the evening magic, a wonderful and really memorable experience????????✨! Jörgen and Karin Kastensson Kristianstad

Kanalhuset was once the place in Helge å where the Kristianstad residents took their drinking water from. Today, the Utemuseum Kanalhuset tells us about the water-rich history of Kristianstad and about life above and below the surface of Helgeå. If you walk the Linnérundan trail you pass the Kanalhuset on the way to Lillö castle ruin. Here is the chance to see kingfishers in the winter and harriers in the summer. The river side next to the Kanalhus is a popular fishing spot. Kanalhuset is a visitor site in Kristianstads Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve.
