Warrington is a large town and unitary authority area in Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Mersey, 20 miles (32 km) east of Liverpool, and 20 miles (32 km) west of Manchester. The population in 2016 was estimated at 208,800, more than double that of 1968 when it became a New Town. Warrington is the largest town in the county of Cheshire.

A fantastic local based workplace initiative for adults with (but list not exclusive) Learning Disabilities and Mental Health conditions in a beautiful scenic setting of a Victorian Walled Garden. Really easy to miss as you are driving past but certainly worth a visit for the opportunity to visit the gardens which are amazingly maintained with the history of the site always being respected. There is a shop on-site which you can visit which sell seasonal fruit and vegetables, crafts which are made on-site also through different craft and woodwork teams and a beautiful selection of up-cycled furniture. Also an awesome selection of bikes at very reasonable prices. The tea shop is a cosy welcoming sight to anyone who visits and is well worth a trip out in any weather conditions. Always buzzing with activity and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Called in for my first time on Friday (did not expect them to be open due to Good Friday), the range of yarn is enchanting, and they even have a cafe. I went in with no inspiration for my next project, but came away inspired. All staff were lovely and very helpful.The youngest member of staff (Lizzie or Laura?), helped me choose my new granddaughter a cardigan and blanket pattern, and ensured I had the correct amount of yarn and correct dye lot. Great to see the young generation so enthusiastic about their work. I will definitely be returning soon and I will bring along my projects to show them.

I first discovered Kenyon Hall Farm last October, when it must have been Pumpkin picking season as it was extremely busy. Owned by the Bulmer family, with Tod Bulmer at the helm, or should I say plough, Kenyon Hall Farm is set in over 500 acres of Cheshire and Lancashire countryside. On the site of this 'real working family farm' is the Kenyon Hall Farm Shop, full of delicious local produce. The cafe is friendly and relaxing serving home-made, hot and cold food, fresh soups, and drinks, There is a Plant Centre and Pick Your Own Fields, for all of your berries, peas, beans and pumpkins. Hours of 'fun' for all the family! Tod Bulmer is the original 'Gentleman Farmer', steering the whole operation, but he is not above chatting to the customers or helping out in the shop on one of the tills. I found Kenyon Hall Farm by accident, I left the M6 because I was feeling tired and I needed a change of scenery and to get out of my vehicle and have a walk around, so I left the motorway and drove the mile towards Leigh and saw the farm on the right. It was really busy and the had extra parking and attendants, and I was very impressed that even though there were hundreds of people there, they were able to cope. I had been so tired when I left the M6, that I left I forgot to make a mental note of the junction number, and I couldn't remember where it was. I looked on the internet but I just couldn't locate it. I began to think that I had dreamed it! Was it just like Brigadoon, and had it just vanished into the mists of time? No! I hadn't looked far enough down the M6 and it was there at junction 22 all along. I was really glad that I found it again and I have been back several times just to make sure. So, if you want an alternative to the homogenised motorway services, or you want somewhere to take the family for a few hours, fruit picking, then Kenyon Hall Farm is the place to be.

Corks Out is my favorite wine shop in Warrington. They have all of the old world classics, but also stock renegade new winemakers that are challenging the way things have always been done. I love to go in and give them a region, a style or something I want to pair with and just see what they recommend. Something (or sometimes three things) catch my eye!
