The 10 best Resorts in Veneto, Italy

April 27, 2023 Hector Krause

One of Italy’s most visited regions, Veneto in the country’s northeast was independent for centuries until 1797, when Napoleon invaded. It then bounced among French, Austrian and Italian domination. Bordered by some of Europe’s most beautiful elements (the Adriatic Sea to its east, Lake Garda to its west, the Dolomites to its north, and the Po River to its south), Veneto is known for agriculturally rich valleys flowing down from Alps and for important cities like Venice, Verona and Padua.

Nice clean place to stay after Gardaland.

All the following compares to other resorts in Europe. The hotel is nice and tidy. We went in off season. There were not that many guests - we can however imagine how it would be in summer. Definitely go in off season! The rooms are rather big, the view is not extraordinary. We booked a standard room. All ammenities are there. The presentation of the hotel is very club hotel alike, Italian style. All public rooms have high ceelings, people gather, it therefore tends to be a rather loud place (we had to shout to the receptionist to understand her). The doors do not close very tightly, so you can hear noise from the corridor. In our rate included was also breakfast, which is on a high standard. This was the best part of the stay. The dining rooms also follow the above - it is very noisy. There is basically one huge room, children running around. Not ideal if you are looking for some quiet time. However, this cannot be anticipated from a resort targeted at children ;-). For the later there is also additional program during the evening. Finally: the hotel is good but not extraordinary, the breakfast was really good. We got a very good deal. Check out off season special tickets. (240 euros for two days gardaland plus hotel)

Wonderful hotel and garden

We stayed 1 night at this hotel. Check in was very efficient and welcoming. The deluxe room was big, quiet with 3 windows overlooking the canal. The shower room was very clean with original amenities. The strong point of this hotel is the charming rose garden on the grand canal where you can take your breakfast and have a pre dinner drink. The breakfast buffet was good with homemade cakes and tarts.

An Awful Experience

The trip was a disaster. The bed collapsed the first night. That’s right. It completely BROKE. It was pretty scary. It took them an hour to find us another room. The replacement was near the stairs. The wood must be pretty weak because they are always squeaking. Breakfast was included but it didnt match expectations. The selection was small and the eggs cold. Forget about using the pool unless you want to pay extra. Others must have known what I discovered because the hotel was almost empty.

Disappointed

Reviewed By Szilvi78

We have been coming to this beautiful city for ten years. This ws our second stay in Hemingway, and probably the last one. we were sooo disappointed this time. we booked an apartman for 8 people, which should have been better and larger than the last time, where we booked for 6 people. The bathrooms were so tiny and the other bathroom that was on the second floor, had no bidet and no place where we could put our towels or clothes. The equipment was just for 6 people..no mugs, cups...glasses for 8 people. There was just one clothes dryer...the bycicles were always out...the door on the shower was broken,.. so yeah this time it was a big disappointment for us.

Upon arrival at the hotel we went to reception to check-in at which point was told that our room wasn't ready even tho they knew we were coming early luckily my sister in laws room was ready within 1.5hrs so managed to put all our bags in her room, was about 3hrs after our room was ready. Took our kids to the kids club to which was told our youngest was to young as was a 4 yr minimum but was kids younger then my daughter and her cousin were told to go paint while the other kids played games so they felt very left out and came out. We went b&b but in all the years I have been going abroad this was the only time I have ever experience a none existent maid service, the rooms were very dusty under beds only two plug sockets that were useable unless you wanted to start unplugging things. Shower door never closed properly light fitting not fitted to ceiling. The hotel was very isolated, really needed a car to get anywhere from shops to restaurants unless you had a death wish and walk along a very busy road with no footpath on speaking to our rep he said that the hotel tended to say its ok to walk as previous guests found a close taxi firm was being pushed on them. Not once was this stayed anywhere. The restaurant on site overall was ok found a piece of glass in our daughters meal one night glass was taken away but never offered a refund or a replacement meal so my daughter had to eat mine which I thought was appauling. The swimming pool and the gardens were the best parts of the hotel. Sad to say I won't be recommending or returning to this hotel

Great Family Stay

Reviewed By 1oleksandrd

Stayed for a week February 16-24. Initially booked a main hotel quadruple room for 2 adults and 2 kids. To be fair room a bit too cozy for 4 people so after a first night asked to be moved to the apartment residence which is part of the hotel and about 200 metres down the road. Aprtment is much more suitable for a family we have a separate bedroom a kitchen corner with fridge and hob and enough space for the lagage, ski closes etc. Booked B&B although we dine at the main hotel 3 or 4 night as kids loved kids club so we stayed close to them. Dinner is buffet style with good choice and interesting dishes cost 25 euro per adult with unlimited house wine, 12 per child. Used spa twice with kids and once adults only while kids were at kids club. Spa another 400 m down the road, better to drive. We ski whole week in Cortina which is 20-30 min drive depends which ski area you are going, plenty of parking at the hotel and residence. Car is essential.

Good but could be better, is it because of the current Covid situation?

Reviewed By Freduswe

The Resort, is very nice. The employees friendly and structure modern and clean. The bungalow are big and clean you will find everything what you need. I would recomand to install at the bungalow a wather tap at the balcony to wash of your sandy feet, that would be a big optional. The resort can usualy fit more than 1.000 people during our visit there where about 500 so everyone had a lot of space. I guess this is cause of the Covid situation. What I didn`t like was that you where not allowed to have dinner and breakfast outside, I think eating outside in the summer should be possible. Also because of the Covid situation you had to wait quite a while sometimes to get your food at the buffet which was served by the employees. The problem was that the situation for the employees was very stressfull because there where so many people so you had realy to beg to get larger portions. I was also not happy with some of the food. The meet was sometimes dry, the seafood tasteless, but this can also be just a matter of taste. Than there where also the typical issues, you had to reserve every day the beach chairs on the beach, sometimes at 09 o clock the tents on the beach where not available, then when you where at the beach so saw that they was not used for the whole day. Also at the pool, people do reserve the tends with their towels, but they don`t use it for the whole day. I would wish that the staff in this case remove the towels and leav the space to other people.

Excellent accommodation for families

Reviewed By Emlizzcla

Great stay for families with an excellent pool and splash park, peaceful but well connected location, and lots to do in the local area. Gasparina village is in a great location with Gardaland just a short walk away and a path down to Lake Garda that takes just 5-10 minutes. During our stay we also hired bikes from outside reception and cycled to Peschiera del Garda and along the Mincio river. Once in Peschiera there are many day trips to choose from that are less than 2 hours away. We visited Milan and Venice, as well as Gardaland theme park that is in walking distance. Movieland and other water parks, theme parks and a zoo are also nearby. The accommodation is basic but has lots of storage space and a lovely balcony. Having some more TV channels in English would be preferable as there was only BBC News that wasn't German or Italian. The onsite restaurant isn't too good, but there are some really nice restaurants if you walk down towards the lake. Reception staff were very helpful, particularly the lady with curly hair who helped us to book taxis and look up train times for places we wanted to visit. I will recommend this place to friends and family!
