Risorgimento Resort

The Risorgimento Resort, one of the first hotels built in the historical city of Lecce, was inaugurated in 1880. After a restoration and refurbishment, the hotel reopened its doors in October 2007. The architectural design and the modern features of the Risorgimento Resort set it apart as the leader of the town's accommodation. Located in the historical city center, the hotel allows for easy access to the city's haute boutiques and nightlife. The Le Quattro Spezierie gourmet restaurant is a landmark of high-class gastronomy for not only the Risorgimento Resort but for the entire area. The restaurant has a seasonal menu featuring intense aromas and colors and has an extensive wine list that showcases the best of local, interregional and international wine. The "Janet Ross" is an exclusive and elegant lounge bar that proposes itself as a place for cultural meetings, small events, and private encounters. The Risorgimento Resort offers Spa, fitness area and massages. The Salus per Aquam SPA is an oasis of wellness, created so that guests can relax and be pampered with beauty treatments while staying in the heart of the city. The SPA consists of Turkish bath, chromo-aroma therapy showers, an area reserved for beauty and therapeutic and massages and a relaxation area for soothing the body and soul while enjoying herbal tea. There is also a roof garden, Le Quattro Spezierie is a panoramic terrace with views of the city. The surroundings are evocative and soothing; the sophisticated decors enhanced by carefully thought out detailing. In the evening, in spring and summer, the atmosphere transforms Le Quattro Spezierie into an open-air salon that is perfect for sipping a cocktail, listening to good music and admiring the city from above.

Very nice and central

Reviewed By NikkiSam

The staff were nice, polite and helpful. Room very nice indeed and comfortable. Roof terrace was lovely but one could only get a drink there from 6.00pm onwards. Breakfast was OK. Very disappointing cheap fruit juice however. For a hotel of that standard I would have expected better. Excellent location

Quiet and quirky and very comfortable only 5 minutes away from the centre of Otranto.

We arrived in Otranto on May Day and it was rammed as everyone was out celebrating. The hotel however was a haven. Set about 5 minutes walk from the Castle and the centro storico, the owner's passion for all things nautical is on display everywhere. It is all very tastefully done and the hotel has numerous courtyards and spaces to relax in. Our room was at the back of the hotel with its own little patio and was quiet and well equipped. We had dinner on the May Day evening and it was really very good value with very efficient and friendly service.

We saw the restaurant and stopped to have lunch. We were really glad that we did. The restaurant did not look special but the service and the food certainly was. It was a great meal at a reasonable price and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We have no hesitations in recommending it.

Immaculate!

Reviewed By FallonKaye

We stayed here for 3 nights and honestly everything was just perfect! The architecture is immaculate, everything is spotless and super clean. The location is fantastic it is only about an 8 minute walk to the bars, restaurants and marina area where there is SO much choice on where to eat. We also hired a car and we were about an hours drive from most things. The spa was one of the best I have been to - lots of different areas and very chilled. The massage was lovely too. A lot of reviews saying the staff are not friendly I completely disagree! They were all polite and helpful if we needed anything. Breakfast was mainly pastries, meats and cheeses but was delicious! You cannot serve yourself due to Covid although that wasn’t a problem. The room has everything you needed however I would have liked a pool view not a brick wall! and the bed & pillows are hard - new mattresses are needed. Sound is an issue too you can hear other guests flushing the toilet or in the shower early in the morning. This is my reason for not giving it 5 stars! I would definitely stay here again!

I wouldn't go back

Reviewed By paveita

to the question "would you go back there?" the answer, NO ++ sea water, just amazing clean & clear + rooms, very big, with double shower + beer, light lager -- beach distance, is not far at all on foot, but can be a dangerous walk because you have to step along the "statale" road -- train (navetta) schedule to the beach. Only one every half hour when the distance is 3 minutes drive -- food (unfortunately..): - always, lukewarm (and ordinary); - nothing local from the region (a part ONE night) - fruit, shoddy and "cheap" -- restaurant management, embarassing: - I complained with the maitre and he told me to remind the issue to the cooks; - every meal you have to find a table available and often wait to be set it up - if you prefer to eat a little later, difficulties increases - customers can't touch the plates, but they can serve themselves at the drink dispenser (using thier fingers) or touch the bags for salt, pepper, mayo, biscotti, etc or serve themselves olive oil with a spoon from a bowl; - there is not a clear sign or indication of the path to follow between appetisers and desserts ... other details: you have to remind people to keep their distance (or not skip the line/queue); ; the lunch box, if you requires it, embarassing. the beach service: the workers (mostly immigrants guys, here so called "extra-comunitari") are always kind, smiling and available. We can't say the same for their fussy, nitpicking "boss". beach plays all day long, music as loud as a rave party

My tips for next year visitors and for the managers

Reviewed By Fausto O

We had a good time, cooking with excellent ingredients, clean, comfortable and good service at all levels. Now my tips not to be disappointed: 1- leave knowing that the location is ok, not 5 stars. 2- the pool is unusable, beautifull, but too cold, anyway we was there for the sea, not for the pool. 3- The green is sand, but just don't look at it and you'll not soffer the lack of it. 4- The hotel is a rib of valentino hotel, good or bad you should know that. 5- This is my first experience with BluSerena . 6- what else: always have fun when you spend your money, here you can if you know exactly what you are buying.

Another relaxing stay at this resort

Reviewed By patrickbelgio

We have just returned from our fourth stay at this resort, and once again we enjoyed it very much. As always, we appreciated the comfortable rooms (we had a bungalow) with efficient air conditioning, the perfectly kept grounds with large swimming pool, the air conditioned restaurant with great variety of meals, and the helpful staff. The restaurant is still very crowded and busy, and the music at the swimming pool sometimes too loud for my taste, but we all love the relaxing style and great service at this hotel, especially considering the moderate price level.

Borgo Egnazia

Borgo is the Italian word for village. Borgo Egnazia, a stroll from the Adriatic Sea on the fertile plains of Puglia, is a village of dreams hewn in the beautiful white Tufo stone of the region. If it had existed in ancient times it would have been the eighth wonder of the world! But although it looks as if time, sun, footsteps and sea breezes have weathered its facades, Borgo Egnazia is a 21st century creation that sparks the imagination with its characterful buttresses and the higgledy-piggledy layout of the casette around the central Piazza. You arrive at La Corte (the court), which sits like a manor house or Moorish Castle to the side of the village. It's a castle of troubadours and sanctuary though, not of battlements. Here are rooms where you can take your sojourn with us, descending the sweeping stairway to enjoy the bars, restaurants, terraces, spa and pools as well as the many secreted, gently lit bowers in a labyrinth of corridors that make it seem as if you had entered the Temple of Aphrodite! Alternatively you can choose to stay in one of the Borgo's casette, a deux or as a family of four, which nestle around two piazzas down bougainvillea- scented alleyways that you would swear had been there since the days of carts and horses. Larger families might prefer to take one of our 29 villas that fringe the village with their own plunge pools and shaded gardens, lush with oleander and rosemary. Borgo Egnazia is hard to describe. It's a place like nowhere else, with so much thought having gone into every detail. You have to come and experience it for yourself. What we have done is given glimpses about the many characteristics of the place. We hope you enjoy these. If they conjure in your mind the sense of a place rich in earthy provenance, splendid in its imagining and deeply restorative in its comforts and perfection, then our words will be doing some justice to the reality of Borgo Egnazia. Vair Spa Vair is emphasizing the role played by internal beauty, which illuminates each one of us and never deteriorates. We are introducing the results of a year's worth of research into an essential theme: The fulfillment of the psyche, that can be searched in a series of extraordinary treatments born precisely from this vision. Before choosing the best tailor-made spa itinerary, our guests often say they would like to feel happier after their treatments. This is why we suggest that you do not miss the life-changing treatments, which are carried out in the friendly and inviting atmosphere at Vair, the innovative and modern Mind & Body Spa surrounded by Puglia's natural beauty. We train every day to have the clearest attitude in welcoming you. The Training of the Spa Team has been extra-ordinary. Inspired and excellent teachers, all masters in their arts, left us tools and knowledge to enhance our methods for delivering committed Spa experiences in this changing world.

A big disappointment

Reviewed By hannahrahel

I had heard / read nothing but amazing things about Borgo. Don't get me wrong, the overall property is incredible. But I would recommend a visit for dinner over staying there. The staff was 10/10 but the hotel room was nowhere near as nice as other places we have stayed throughout Italy. Our AC barely worked, wifi did not work, and the shower pressure was extremely weak. We only had a one night stay so by the time we realized all of these issues it was late into the night and we did not have the energy to go downstairs to reception and address them. In addition, we ate dinner at La Frasca which would have been good if we had not been seating to a screaming toddler that cried / yelled throughout the entire 2 hour meal. Pros: the spa and pools are beautiful. The breakfast food was delicious. Overall, this is not what I expected for a hotel of this caliber and such an expensive hotel room. I wish we would have booked somewhere else.
