Lifeguard (see photo), Lina in the gym amazing and the Chef that made a dahl were incredible, wouldn't stay here again

We stayed for two days in June and we were a group of three ladies sharing one room. To start off the security team are over zealous. Whilst we understand the safety of everyone, they were short and rude to guests. This is not a welcoming reception when you first arrive. When approaching the hotel the first thing you notice is the security scanner which we had to put everything through. One of my friends had some medjool dates in her bag which we were taking home as a gift. We bought these in Amman and he said we were not allowed to bring them into the building. I argued with him for 10 minutes and said they were a gift to take back home and he reluctantly agreed. We noticed there was a boy around 10-12 who had a couple of plastic water bottles and he looked like he was recovering from Cancer. The security were arguing with his parents (I presume) as to why he had water bottles and some crisps etc. The food and drink policy is too strict. You surely cannot take snacks and water from everyone that enters the Movenpick Hotel - I have never seen this before. We ordered three takeaway breakfast for our early morning flight when we arrived to check in, which were to be collected at 5am two days later and I explained that two of us were vegetarian. We went back on the last evening to double check it would be ready for 5am the next day. When we arrived they prepared three meat boxes (picture of the take away breakfast shown). Even more annoying and potentially we could have missed our flight, they did NOT call our room to wake us even though we ordered a wake up call and checked with them that it was definitely booked for 430am, no call came, this is not acceptable. Lucky we set alarms, this again is unacceptable. We took the half board option of breakfast and dinner and the staff served everything to you even the salad which is so frustrating. You need to change this policy and let guests serve their own food, this really is annoying, frustrating and not necessary. The dinner options were better than the breakfast options but there were long queues for pancake and egg stations. I think this weekend was busy at the hotel. The chef did make me a porridge with water and it was lovely with a fresh banana but not enough vegan options, no vegan yoghurts, no labelled bread, soya milk etc. The breakfast lacked choice. Although, the Chef was amazing. He promised he would make me a vegan dahl the next day and he did, I even showed him my empty plate. Thank you for this lovely evening meal. My friend and I went to the gym both days, there was a lovely lady called Lina who was like a personal trainer to us for the hour that we were there, she gave us some great ideas for a leg workout as the equipment is so old and in a terrible state of repair that it's pretty difficult to complete a proper workout. Please update the equipment, it is far too old and purchase some modern equipment, it looks like it's about 100 years old and falling apart - Lina I feel sorry for you working with that old equipment it must make your job so difficult, you were brilliant and thank you for helping me and my friend (I hope you remember us - we did leg day and you showed us some exercises). Mohammed the duty lifeguard showed us how to apply the mud and what to do. Lots of tourists were coming up to him and thanking him for his advice, he is an asset to the hotel and absolutely brilliant. I have added a photo of him. Please thank him for me as he was absolutely first class The room was lovely, we had an extra bed and this was fine, the shower room did have a smell coming from the drains now and again (Room P7). The room was cleaned perfectly each day. The grounds were beautiful, it can be hilly with buggies to take you around from place to place, we loved the walk to and from the beach. I did not use the swimming pools but they looked beautiful. There was a belly dancer one night, she was quite good and a couple of old guys singing cover songs, who were again ok. Reception staff were friendly but forgetting to wake us up for an early flight and also not packing our prepared vegetarian breakfast was pretty poor. Apart from that we had a great time. Please say thank you to Lina in the gym, the Chef who made me the vegan dahl and the lovely lifeguard, Mohammed who is in the photo. Our driver said the Marriott is the best hotel in the Dead Sea. I wouldn't go back to the Movenpick if I was to visit again. Happy holidays.

Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea

The Kempinski Hotel Ishtar gives you the opportunity to enjoy its riches where Queen of Sheba and Cleopatra once strived to unravel mystery. Situated gracefully on the shores of the largest spa in the world the Dead Sea, unique for its ozone-rich air, mineral sea water and ultra-violet filtered sunshine. I've been there last month, its a vey beautiful hotel, i loved the beach there its totally clean, the swimming pool were gorgeous, the food is good, and the stuff is friendly. Except one, he was at the breakfast time, i asked for a cold water, the way he talked is disgusting then he ignored me and talked to another person. (The big guy with a white hair). This was my only issue. But its an expesive professional hotel, its a shame to when some one talk to me like that. But any way, see you soon.

Happy with my stay at Hilton Dead Sea, it was a lovely hotel thatade an effort to provide entertainment and be hospitable. Everyone we encountered was a great help. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Views were great the dead sea area was lovely pool spaces lovely. The beach staff Hussein and Jehad were fantastic, they applied the mud provided massage and then the salt scrub. They gave clear instructions and literally did not stop working all whilst smiling and making good convo with everyone, they are a great asset to the hotel and deserve high recognition from management. The Lebanese restaurant was nice the only thing is that the servers could bring drinks faster especially water in such hot weather. Everyone was pleasant and helpful.

Very bad At first I had good expectations about staying at the Aqaba intercontenantal Hotel, but it was shocking to look at what is happening inside, I felt very insulted when I see the neglect that occurs by the staff, especially in the morning breakfast period, which does not deserve to be called five stars but does not deserve one star And the manager of that restaurant was informed of the bad service and we only received an apology from him, so I advise those who want to stay in Aqaba for tourism not to approach that hotel
