Just a short stroll from central St.Michaels Bridge along each side of the quay, the range of picturesque and architectural styles are most pleasing to the eye;take along with you a descriptive guidebook,( available from the Tourist Office),and you will find interesting details of the purpose and history of the various buildings (alternatively, take the half hour informative boat trip there- currently a modest €7!)

Port of Harlingen

We spent some time in the restaurant/cafe overlooking the harbour on a very damp day and enjoyed watching all the various ships passing by as well as the ferries to and from the Wadden Islands of Terschling and Vlieland. There is an entrance to the canal system not far away so it was quite busy with canal barge traffic as well.

Wilhelminapier

Reviewed By 474arv - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

The Wilhelmina pier was created in the 80th after many years of being neglected and has become a hotspot of Rotterdam. There is a big theatre Nieuwe Luxor, the foodhallen , a excellent art filmhouse, the photomuseum and in the back there is Hotel New York where you can have a meal or just a drink. This used to be a shipping office and from this point Dutch immigrants traveled to Amerika. In the summer the outside terrace from Hotel New York is lovely .There are many cruise ships during the year who enter the Wilhelminapier . Nice is to have a walk near the riverside. The pier you can also enter by watertaxi wich gives a little extra.. The Wilhelmina pier is connected by a little bridge wich gives you aces to Katendrecht wich has several good restaurants and the Fenixhallen,Not to be missed..From the bridge you have a spectacular view on the Wilhelmina pier In February there is Art Rotterdam in the Cruiseterminal, So lot's to see and to do . Not to missed.

Huizen Haven Van 't Gooi

Reviewed By pwbbost - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Very non-Dutch feeling. Has the look and feel of a southern French harbour. New and old mixed. Well maintained. This pretty harbour is a place to visit for sure. Enough restaurants and bars to choose from. Nice boats and friendly people all around. Just a nice place to walk around and have a good glass of wine on one of the terraces.

Museumhaven Leeuwarden
