North Rhine-Westphalia (German: Nordrhein-Westfalen, pronounced [ˈnɔʁtʁaɪ̯n vɛstˈfaːlən] ( listen), commonly shortened to NRW) is the most populous state of Germany, with a population of approximately 18 million, and the fourth largest by area. Its capital is Düsseldorf; the largest city is Cologne. Four of Germany's ten largest cities (Cologne, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, and Essen) are located in this state, as well as the second largest metropolitan area on the European continent, Rhine-Ruhr.

Beautiful wild parc with great art. Excekkent place to get lost, wander around and enjoy nature, specially in autumn when the cipresses are coloring fiercely red.

This is no ordinary park, from the beautiful forests, to the lakes, and green belts, this park has it all.A skyway, a old pirate ship playground, a sky tower, and miles and miles of beautiful paths to wander down. One could spend the whole day there and never see it all. The most Beautiful park I have ever enjoyed!

Here you can spend a nice day/night and that without entrance fee. If you are free from giddiness, you can climb up to the top of the blast furnace (approx. 80 meters) and enjoy the fantastic view of the surrounding area. Hobby photographers get their money's worth here, motives at every corner in this former steel mill. In the twilight the whole charm with special lighting comes to the fore, guided or also introduced inspections are also possible in the dark and maybe you are lucky and you can enjoy a wonderful sunset on top of the blast furnace. A snack is also possible. Diving in the gasometer and climbing in the former bunkers is unfortunately reserved for club members.

Beautiful Asian garden with special plants, trees. In the past I was in Japan, visited original Japanese gardens, this place in Leverkusen is very similar to those ones.

Nice tour option if you are in Bonn/Cologne area or near those. Access by car or public transportation. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes. I went there in the Summer and the view was amazing. Make sure to take the Drachenfelsbahn (rack railway) up to the top to go see first the Medieval ruined castle Burg Drachenfels and the great view of the Rhine, then go back to the railway and get off at the neogothic castle: Schloss Drachenburg, lower on the hill. I personally recommend this for Castles passionates!

I recently took in a bundesliga game here with a friend, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We travelled by train from Dusseldorf, and as soon as we arrived in Monchengladbach we were bussed (free), from central station to the ground, approximately 6 Km away, and again the same buses were waiting to take us straight back to the train station after the game. Obviously the cities way of controlling the fans, and getting them in and out of the city centre as quickly as possible. The ground sits near to industrial units on the outskirts of Monchengladbach, and is quite impressive, but perhaps a little smaller that some of the others we have visited. The views from the stands are very good, and the food outlets offer a good choice of fare. Yet another stadium that I recommend you visit.
