Skilift Tanzboden

The ski area above Ebnat-Kappel offers well groomed slopes, good infrastructure, low prices and four restaurants. With a lot of heart, this family ski lift is operated.

Tamina Gorge

Reviewed By 910lauriel - Plymouth, United States

We got onto the Postbus at the train station which has automated pay parking stalls. It costs 11CHF for a round trip bus trip that’s payable to the driver in cash only. The alternative to getting there is the hike which is walking along the same road that the bus takes. We saw quite a few people walking, but the bus did get close to them at time due to the narrow width of the road. Once we arrived at the top, there is a restaurant with a pay station inside that accepts coins and bills (we had better luck with coins so try to have those). You receive a ticket that you scan at the entrance of the gorge to go through the turn style. There is not a place to buy tickets at the gorge itself. There was a full sit down restaurant and also a small café/snack bar. The snack bar had pizza and cheese plates but we didn’t see a menu posted (in English). The restaurant looked nice but we didn’t eat there. The building itself was quite lovely with a nice outdoor seating area. The gorge itself was amazing. Bring a raincoat if you don’t want to get wet as there’s so water dripping at times. Make sure to go all the way inside the gorge to the end of the trail to see the actual thermal water source & original tunnels. We were there 1.5 hours and didn’t have time to see the museum.
