Visiting this place both in the day and in the night gives you a sense of accomplishment. In the day you can walk along the waterfront and snap some nice souvenir pictures of the Singapore Icon, The White Merlion overflowing water splashing into the sea. Along the waterfront are food joints and drinks cafes. There are quite a nice selection of food and drinks including Seafood. In the night, you will see a variety of beautiful colourful Merlion depicting various Singapore Places Of interest in the form of light rays shining on the Beautiful Merlion. It is definitely cooler walking along the waterfront and enjoying the night scenes around it, including getting ready your camera for some nice shots of the surrounding sceneries from the Waterfront. Hope you have A great time there. Ad.

This is a solemn place to remember the terrible consequences of war. It is where we pay our respect to the innocent lives that were killed as the result of the war and Japanese Occupation.

Bird

Reviewed By KitoBA - Sydney, Australia

I sought out this bird sculpture because I absolutely love Fernando Botero's work, the sculptor of this impressive piece of art. I love how he makes everything fat! It was a bit of a challenge to get to and it didn't help that it was at night. It can seem unimpressive if just walking by. Perhaps it could have been better presented or situated, but nonetheless I enjoyed and appreciated it. The good news is if you're a Botero fan, there's another more grander set of sculptures you can see on Sentosa Island which I highly recommend! And these ones I accidentally ran into.

The First Generation

This sculpture is one of many along the promenade of Boat Quay, except this is less serious than the others. The sculpture depicts a scene where 5 boys are jumping into the Singapore River. Two of the boys are depicted mid flight and just adds to the sense of joyful memories. One of the boys is depicted getting into his birthday suit which just reminds me of the halcyon days of youth. Wonderful childhood memories.

If you want to see something extraordinary and for free at Garden's by the Bay I suggest you seek out the floating baby outdoor art installation titled 'Planet', it is an impressive piece of art and design. The sculptor Marc Quinn has designed the sleeping baby on his own son, it is a massive seven ton white painted bronze and steel sculpture which makes it look like the sleeping baby is floating in air. Outstanding and fun.
