Was running late for lunch at Peach blossom Parked n followed the signages which said Parkroyal hotel but didn’t lead to hotel . Wasted a good 20mins or more trying to locate the entrance to hotel from carpark , with heels & perspirations streaking , melting makeup . I got back into my car and decided that’s it , I m leaving and likelihood will not make any appointment in this hotel again . I found my car , drove up n saw that I cud drive back into the front porch of hotel . Was really very upset by then , wind down my window and complained to a porter at the front drop off and out came executive security Ravi who might hv heard as I was angry , hot and loud ? Honestly I didn’t expect he would do what he did . Becos of his quick thinking and service recovery , he managed to calm & cool me down quickly . What took me by further surprise was when he chaperoned me up to the restaurant , hand me over to the service staff at peach blossom and assuringly said ‘ it’s all good ; enjoy your good lunch mdm Very impressed with Ravi and I truly enjoyed my lunch thereafter . In fact I arranged for the subsequent business meeting I was supposed to have right after lunch , there at Peppermint at the hotel premise itself . Knowing I can collect my car from the lobby and not risk getting lost again around the carpark All thanks to Ravi , he turned the situation around or grading would be 1 and certainly not higher Parkroyal has very nice restaurants n good embience for meet ups and It’s A pity , parking , directions and signages are misleading & certainly need great improvement . Took photos of those as I walked round many times starring at those signs n arrows but it just don’t lead to hotel Don’t mind returning if only parking can be more convenient with good access from basement to hotel Eve

Only suitable for singles or couples

We booked this trip through a travel agent as part of an overall package and didn’t realise just how intimate the room would be! There’s only a glass divide between the bathroom and bedroom. If you were on your on or potentially with a partner it may be fine, but we were friends sharing. The room smells like damp as the bathroom is a wet room and there’s no extractor fan or window that opens. Overall the hotel is fine, parts of the room are well done, others could do with improvement like sockets and a shelf on both sides of the bed, and a shelf for your clothes in the bathroom as it’s one big wet room. Currently only clean the room every 3 days as well which isn’t great.

Terrible experience

Reviewed By Gen2801

My review on 5 June 2022 was deleted. Firstly, we are made to wait for 2.5hrs to get our room key when we reached earlier at 2pm than the supposed check in timing to avoid the crowd. All the guests that came later than us were given their room keys instantly while we were made to wait at the lobby with no news on when will we receive our key nor did the Sofitel Sentosa team update us on the status periodically. I have enquired with the staffs there multiple times but they replied nonchalantly that the housekeeping were busy to simply brushed me off. Even when I requested to speak to a manager who can assist me on this, one of the staff replied me “no one is available to assist”. I had to single out the manager on my own and only then, we manage to get our room key. They were only interested in serving and entertaining the foreign tourists and simply treated local tourists like dirt from the way I interacted with them. I understand that there are a shortage of manpower due to covid, but if Sofitel Sentosa is unable to handle the crowd (post-covid), they should not be selling out all their rooms and made us wait for so long. Secondly, besides the room being dusty with dusts flying all over the place when we moved around the room (thank god, my eczema didn’t flare up), the bathroom design is totally a fall hazard. We were only given the choice to shower in the bathtub, and the way to enter and exit the bathtub has no form of assistance at all. Me being 155cm, my legs are not able to reach in/out of the bathtub and I can only do so while holding onto the towel rack provided at the top of the bathtub. I believe, I am not the only one having such difficulties. Thirdly, the staffs at LeBar were just simply money-faced. We ordered drinks on our first day while waiting for our room, we were given seating within the lounge and the service was decent. I don’t see any fault from there since we were paying customers. On the second day, we went to LeBar once more with the intention to get our complimentary welcome drink. Guess what? We were denied seating in the lounge itself and was asked to sit outside instead. There were no customers at all during that time and the reason by the waiter was “tables are all reserved” and simply brushed us off. Such disparity between the two visits just because that one was that we were paying, while the other was because it was a redemption of complimentary drinks. We had been to a few hotels but our experience with Sofitel Sentosa was the worst and it was so terrible that we definitely will not be back again. Their cluster GM Mr Cavaliere responded to my review on 6 June 2022 asking me to contact him via his email as he would like to find out more but I have not received his reply since 9 June 2022 (AM).

Lovely hotel with some issues

Reviewed By MJLSK

We had a nice stay at Jen for 6 nights in two panorama rooms but it wasn’t perfect. 1. The rooms were lovely but not the same. One had a nice bathtub overlooking the city and generally a much nicer bathroom with a smart mirror. The other room had a dark and a much smaller bathroom without a smart mirror and without any view. I believe these rooms should not be charged at the same rate. The beds were really big and comfortable. 2. The breakfast was always nice with a good choice and polite service. 3. The pool area is amazing with a beautiful view and friendly staff. The bbq food is nice, the cocktails lovely. Definitely the highlight. 4. The check in process was terrible. We arrived at 7am and asked if we could check in early. We were told that the normal check in time is 2pm but that they would do their best to accommodate us earlier at least in one room. We headed up to the pool area which opened at 8am and after an exhausting trip from Europe patiently waited for the rooms. We were extremely disappointed that not only the rooms weren’t ready earlier but also not even within the normal check in time. After a couple of trips to the reception we got our first room at 3.45pm and the other one at 5pm! Not acceptable if you ask me. They were clearly rushing as we had no minibar items and no welcome package for the club room guests and no bathrobes. Had to ask for these myself. I mentioned that at the checkout when asked about my experience and was met with a shrug and a little “oh I see”. 5. The cleaner was clearly rushing throughout our stay as even though the room looked clean on the surface, there was a cloth in the corner of the shower for the entire stay. She clearly never got into the shower to clean… 6. The 5.30-7.30pm snack offering in for the club guests was limited. The items were nice but little choice. Would I come back? Potentially yes because it’s a great hotel with an amazing location and a lovely pool. The food and cocktails are also nice. The check in experience is what would make me think twice.

Disappointment

Reviewed By RegularTraveler5588

I stayed in Hotel Jen several times before Covid and enjoyed my stay. However, I was very disappointed with my recent stay in May 2022. I wanted to swim at 7am but I was told that the swimming pool is close and opens from 9am to 7pm. I spoke to the Duty manager and asked him why and he told me that it is government regulations. I did not believe him and when I checked further, I found out that they did not have enough staff to open the pool. I am very shocked that the duty manager tell lies to guests. I parked my car in Tanglin mall and when I wanted to exit with the ticket given to me by the hotel, I could not despite following the instructions given to me by the reception desk. I wasted a lot f time trying to get help and eventually discovered that I had to use my hotel given card and my auto pass to get out. The reception staff are ignorant. When I went down for breakfast, I was looking forward to having pork bacon with my cooked breakfast but could not get it as the hotel has gone halal. Why has hotel Jen gone halal in a non Muslim country when many Muslim countries are more liberal and serves bacon at breakfast. This is a discriminatory policy against non Muslims.
