Simple, peaceful, quiet oasis in Chile
Reviewed By Cosimo_de_MediciI attended a wedding in Achao in January of 2020. I had originally booked elsewhere as the plan was to stay with my family. But with 2 weeks left, that place suddenly cancelled my reservation. On the recommendation of my local cousin, I booked at the Hotel Boutique Antukenu. I had no idea what to expect. I was simply looking for safe, clean and in the area. Well, I received a wonderful surprise here! Not only was it safe and clean (and affordable) but the team at the hotel were so warm and inviting. And above that, the views from this location are simply stunning. My room was that window on the lower left in the hotel photo. The views were out of this world! Each morning, I received a great (and filling breakfast) which was included in the price. Sitting in the restaurant/lobby provided a similarly wonderful and peaceful view. There is no wi-fi, no TV in the rooms, no radio. It is peaceful and quiet and wonderful. I spend my days on tech and have to say it was refreshing to have to adjust. But if you just can't live without tech, make sure your cell plan covers data. Being on a hill, the coverage is fine. I recommend you connect to Claro CL vs. Moviphon as the local carrier. It is important to note that the owner and the other woman working there only speak Spanish, but the owner's son does speak English fairly well, which helped a lot. All in all, I definitely recommend that you consider staying here if you go to Achao. And thanks to the hotel team for a memorable stay!

Reviewed By KevinC864We have spent a total of five years out of the last 13 years traveling abroad from the United States in all kinds of funky and different places, and hundreds of hotels, Homeaway‘s, etc.… This is only the second hotel that we have ever been fooled by in 13 years… We decided to stay at Nothofagus the first night, and try Montana Magica Lodge the second night to compare…Nothofagus was actually quite nice, with large rooms.... if you have a chance, I would recommend staying there…… Do not book at Magica Montana… We booked a Superior room, and received a tiny room, no bigger than the standard room shown in the pictures… The bathroom smelled like a sewer…The front desk refused to acknowledge that we booked a better room, even though we pointed out the difference in pictures on the various websites… I was actually amazed that we paid far less for Nothofagus, a far superior hotel versus Magica Montana… In addition, if you decide to book here despite this advice, I would recommend requesting a fan, since there’s no air circulation at all in the tiny rooms…

Bad experience due to poor service
Reviewed By 715ricardoiWe have visited Huilo Huilo since our honeymoon in 2009. This time, we had the worst experience so far. Basically, personnel is not committed with the good service as they used to do. We do not refer to all employees as some do an excellent work. However, others provide poor service and show few commitment with their work. Our comments come from different issues we experienced in 4 days only. We expect this change as this is one of the best touristic destinies in Southern Chile.

A los pies del Pirehueico, donde se funde con el Río Fuy, se encuentran estos incomparables departamentos, pensados para disfrutar de los sonidos del agua. Las áreas comunes cuentan con cafetería, bar, comedor, salas de estar y una gran terraza con vista al lago. Cuenta con cobertizo para 6 embarcaciones y un sector de pañol y taller.. El planteamiento arquitectónico da prioridad a la vista hacia el lago desde los sectores comunes del Club Huillín, los departamentos miran el inicio del Río Fuy y cada uno tiene terraza privada.
This place was perfect
Reviewed By JoseRibeiro76I admin, the exterior of the place put me off initially, but the minute we stepped inside the front door of the apartment, all of that was meaningless. There is no better place to stay in such an amazing location. The place was clinically clean, all amenities that one would need (we cooked during our stay), the service was superbly helpful (thanks Cristian Manriquez) and the peace and tranquility on the shore of the lake in the midst of the beautiful reserve were exactly what a romantic get away required.

Treasures are often hard to find. The Nawelpi Lodge ('Puma Spirit' in Mapudungun) is located in the middle of the forest, not far from the main building. The exclusive and luxurious bungalows are situated by the Fuy River, in beautiful surroundings. The Nawelpi Lodge is a place to relax and connect with nature.

Reviewed By Sunshine59558My husband and spent a bit more than a week exploring the Chilean Lake Region. We are well-traveled and appreciate accommodations which are able to balance nature and luxury. What a find! Huilo Huilo is magnificent and Nawelpi is magical. Fantastic accommodations (especially the wood-fired hot tub on the deck), gorgeous surroundings, excellent service.

Reviewed By Meander770536Un lugar realmente increíble, cómodo y acojedor, el jardín es hermoso, con una linda vista al río y acceso directo para bañarse en verano...la atención personalizada y profesional...considerar es un hotel por tanto, la única comida que sirven es el desayuno (granola, pan y dulce casero) pero cuenta con una cocina muy bien equipada para cocinar a gusto. Además, tienen servicios de kayak y tinajas de agua caliente ideales para la noche o ver el atardecer. Sin duda un lugar para disfrutar al máximo...

I am writing this review little bit later since our trip took 21 days and we came home 1 week ago. This lodge and the owner was one of the best experiences on our adventure. It was beautiful, cozy, so well put in the nature and it was private what we loved about it the most. When we came there, the owner warmly welcomed us and since we wrote him we are on the honeymoon, he prepared the sparkling wine and a delisious pie on our arrival, which was such a sweet touch. There is a wonderful outside whirpool which they prepared just for us and it was a beautiful night under the stars. We enjoyed the wooden decor, the small things like small flowers on the night stands or the pralines on the bed. The vibe of the lodge was such in harmony with the stunning nature around. Hats off to the owners and their genuine care of the guests, the stay was a blast! Thank you very much for this experience, we will never forget! Lenka and Simon
