Avoiding Grade Inflation
Reviewed By Uncle_MartinThis is a good hotel and a safe choice. In a Tripadvisor universe without any grade inflation this is a four blob deal. True the breakfast is basic, but the rooms are comfortable, spacious and quiet. This hotel is set away from the party part of town, but is a mere 7 min. easy stroll from the heart of the action. The stuff works, the rooms are clean and the staff friendly and try to please, which in Vietnam is difficult as us bloody foreigners all seek to want something different from a property. I would recommend this place to a friend. There is a very good pub/restaurant 20 metres away to your left as you exit.

'A Hostel with a Soul'. 5 minutes away from the Market, 5 minutes from the Hospital Cave. With rooms backing onto real rock face and showers that jet out of the mountainside. This is the hostel you've been looking for.
Simply amazing place
Reviewed By duum2020This is my second time staying here and it changed so much. We had a room on top of the mountain this time and the view was amazing. They made the room out of palettes !! What a great idea. The staff was friendly and helpful, swimming pool is awesome. We only stay for 3 nights but we will come back for sure

Perfect getaway with bonfire
Reviewed By Indrek SYou could not ask for a better chill. Private Island with plenty of tasteful food, especially the fish. The bartender called 007 has great coctails and great taste in music. Tour guide Robinson was very helpful. And the view!!!! And they made us our own bonfire.

Best view and service
Reviewed By Catie BI arrived late at night, was greeted by the owners with massive smiles. It was lovely. Room has everything you need. Aircon, fan, bathroom with shower and bed. Also waking up the one of the best uninterrupted views in cat ba was amazing. There are so many restaurants and massage places at your doorstep if you need. I rented a bike from them for about $4 for the day. I couldn’t recommend here more, if you are looking for a place to stay while you cruise around cat ba. DO IT.

They're all super warm hearted and very welcoming to the point where I was made to feel I can and will call Woodstock home! This place has the most epic vibe! THERE IS FIRE DANCING! what's not to love about that? Over my stay here I have been welcomed to a big family dinner with everybody here, I have been taught how to dance with fire, I have had beautiful chilled nights watching movies with all! Some days have been spent learning to make awesome jewelry and others just being arty and creative or just hanging out with this wonderful group! A superb place to stay, and not to mention it looks awesome! You can stay out in the open on the balcony upstairs, they have huts and tents on the beach and also a second chill area! This place really is so awesome! P.s. there are puppies ?

Little Cat Ba is located just 2 km from Cat Ba Town, in a very quiet corner with both lake view and mountain view. We also have a lovely garden with a lot of beautiful flowers. Our staff are very friendly and always making our customers feel home!
Stayed on the boat - loved it!
Reviewed By Jacob Hasle NWe had planned to book a luxury 5 star boat trip but due to bad planing on our end that was not possible and so we ended up - by total coincidence- running into this amazing offer - and thank god for that! This is as beautiful and personal an experience as you could ever want. The staff is doing everything they possibly can to make you happy and the young man Kay speaks ok English and cooks amazing food for you on the boat! I highly recommend the seafood dinner - which is an extra 15$ and so worth it! If you want any snacks or drinks besides water and coffe / tea you must bring it yourself or arrange with them to bring as it is not automatically onboard. I’d have liked to have had wine with my food and that had been an option if we had planed for it. We did not. The captain of the boat speaks no English but manages to communicate quite well anyway and he has a great sense of humor and the most contagious laugh. The crew had the perfect ability to find those little - non touristy spots that we all dream about but that big organized tours by definition can not go. We slept in a totally deserted place. If the boat had not been booked by others we had stayed one more night!

Brilliant staff and ideal location
Reviewed By gpont1Stayed here in December 2019 on my travels around South east Asia. This hotel is in the perfect location as it is a 5 mins walk from the main centre but slept amazingly because it was quiet at night. The best thing about this place is the staff. Mike goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and booked all our buses and tours for us. We rented mopeds for only £3 a day and there's so many fun activities to do locally. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Breakfasts were good too. Very good value for money. If you are veggie or vegan must try Buddha belly just down the road! Amazing food.

Outstanding customer service, perfect location
Reviewed By Hana ACheck-in was seamless and the receptionist Thao went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I had a comfortable stay. Her English is great and since we didn't have phones that work in Vietnam, she offered to be available on FB messenger at all hours (esp after her shift ended in the evening and someone else took over). Whenever I asked her a question she responded within seconds and on the first night we had an issue with our room - she returned to the hotel within minutes to sort it out, I was very impressed. Thao put a lot of effort and care into making her guests feel at home. The location of the hotel isn't yet on Google maps but it's a skip away from Thanh Cong 1 Hotel, and the shuttle bus driver knew the name when I told him so drop-off was seamless. It's off the main road which is nice because it's quieter there. We'd definitely stay there again if we visit Cat Ba in the future.
