Amazing trip
Reviewed By KierannevinThank you Ian & Hayley for a fantastic few days at the moselchild hotel. The location is perfect for some sight seeing and wine tasting. We hired some bikes from the hosts (they had normal and ebikes) and spent a day biking through the hills to some of the more remote wineries. Bernkastel kues is also very accessible from the hotel for a great day trip. The breakfast was lovely with a large variety to choose from, we particularly enjoyed the cooked English breakfast options!! The hosts are welcoming and very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. They are fairly new, but it is obvious they are passionate and will continue to make this hotel better every day. The rooms are nice and clean and the balcony was perfect to share a nice bottle of wine on an evening with superb views! We will definitely be back soon.

A perfect overnight stay at the riverfront
Reviewed By Eero IWe were travelling from Hesse to Brussels and decided to stop over at the Moselle river, our favorite tourist route. The booking done, we were later informed the hosts had to close temporarily but the broker had found another place for us. I confirmed the recommended booking at the Winegut Gerlach. An excellent choice, it turned out! The house Gerlach overlooks the Moselle river at the first row of houses from the riverfront. This is a guesthouse with 8 rooms, it is an old building from the 1930's but fully renovated, our room felt brand-new. The room was large with a broad double bed, view to the river, and a spacious bathroom/toilet equipped with all one could wish for. There was a broad desk cum working place as well, naturally free wi-fi and a quality flat-screen TV. The bed was hard but good for the back, cover a bit short for my stature but othervise fine. One pillow only, my wife would have liked another to prop her up in bed. The road noise from outside is audible but fairly well isolated. The breakfast was nicely put out and included the regular German choices. The lady of the house is very friendly, she helped us with the heavy bags and we were soon in discussion about the Moselle wines. The Winehouse Gerlach produces fine rieslings which are for sale in different cartons and for reasonable prices. An excellent stay and very nice landlady, very good price-quality ratio too!

Ok place to sleep, but no charm
Reviewed By LimecurryLocated in the small, charming village of Ürzig, conveniently between Bernkastel and Trabach (both about 15 min by car). Be aware that his part of the Moselle is dominated by a big motorway bridge cross the river. Restaurant options in Ürzig are very limited. Hotel rooms are clean, but lacking charm and have only basic amenities. Rooms to the back are supposed to have vineyard view, but you are only looking at a photo (!) of a vineyard that’s has been mounted to a nearby building blocking the view. Beds are comfortable Breakfast is quite basic - limited bread selection, cheese, cold meats and some jam. Coffee is premade and sitting in a thermos. Staff is professional and efficient. Restaurant is offering the standard German fare (think schnitzel with fries) in ok quality, but the house wines are sub-standard for the region. Free parking in front of the door. Free WiFi, fast and relatively reliable

Reviewed By D1894TNjansAls Paar verbrachten wir 3 wunderschöne Tage/Nächte auf dem Weingut. Das modern eingerichtete Zimmer im traditionsreichen Gutshaus hatte einen kleinen Balkon mit wunderschönem Blick auf die Mosel, wo man die Spätsommerabende gemütlich bei leckerem Wein ausklingen lassen konnte. Die Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet; Zimmer und Bad waren frisch renoviert, dementsprechend modern und absolut sauber. Auch das Frühstück war von sehr hoher Qualität. Neben dem frischem Obstsalat sind hier vor allem die leckeren Brötchen, das herrlich frische Brot und die ausgezeichneten Wurstwaren vom lokalen Fleischer sehr zu empfehlen. Auch der Kaffee war spitze und es wurde am Frühstücksbüffet stets alles frisch nachgelegt. Auf meine Unverträglichkeit was gewisse Obstsorten angeht wurde sofort eingegangen. Wir haben uns an den 3 Tagen im Weingut Erbes Henn rundum wohl gefühlt, was neben den sehr netten und immer freundlichen Gastgebern und den herausragenden Weinen aus besten Lagen aber sicherlich auch an dem tadellosen Hygienekonzept lag, was hier im Rahmen der weiterhin andauernden Corona-Pandemie einwandfrei umgesetzt wurde.

Ein wunderschöner Platz
Reviewed By tachminalWir haben uns für drei Tage eine kleine Auszeit genommen. Mit unserer Wahl waren wir mehr als zufrieden. Ein wunderschöner Ausblick so wie die Wohnung an sich selbst. Mit viel Platz und Ruhe haben wir hier wieder viel Energie auftanken können (trotz grauen Wetter). Wir kommen sehr gern wieder.

Reviewed By johnkornmaalVi har været hos Mönchhof en håndfuld gange for at smage og købe deres fantastisk Mosel vine. Denne gang boede vi nogle nætter i deres Guesthouse. Begge dele er fantastisk. Deres vine er fremragende, og stedets Guesthouse byder på rigtig flot renoverede værelser, med god plads, og komfort, samt ikke mindst udsigten til floden og vinmarkerne. Morgenmaden ligger ugså ud over det almindelige, og serveres med en høj service og i rigtigt hyggelige omgivelser i husets gamle saloner. Klart abefalelsesværdigt, og vi kommer helt sikkert igen.

Reviewed By OberfrankenWir waren mit 3 Paaren (1 Womo Platz, 2 Zimmer) im Gästehaus. Alles war perfekt. Sehr saubere und gepflegte Zimmer. Wir haben uns super wohlgefühlt. Dank an Herrn Berres und Frau Langer, die mich zu meinem Geburtstag mit einem tollen Frühstückstisch überrascht haben. Danke. Die Weinprobe dort war sehr informativ und wir genießen den Wein jetzt mittlerweile zu Hause mit großem Vergnügen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Reviewed By Jeff PI had stayed here several times on business, but when my wife and I arrived last October on holiday, we found it closed. Which was a pity, I thought it had been a pretty good hotel - spacious, clean and right on the banks of the Mosel, with steep hills covered with vines on the other side. So we booked into the Zenthof next door.
