Been there, done that, would do it again
Reviewed By GaildorfbluesI was in Tuttlingen for the Honberg summer festival & so, had 2 nights but very much spent my time away from the hotel except for sleeping, showering & breakfast. A really quirky, please come in vibe to the outside & foyer of this hotel. Checking in, from 15.00, was self service automated. A little bit bewildering at first as I had never encountered a self check in before but I managed to work it out fairly quickly with the help of another guest who had checked in just before me. My room key card was also processed & supplied during the check in. A smallish, non smoking room which was basic & minimal but bright & clean. With a timber floor, double bed, chair, full length mirror, clothes rail, smoke alarm, wall mounted tv, plenty of electric sockets & a small window that still let in plenty of natural light. There was no wardrobe, tea/coffee or air con. There was also no iron but one was supplied when I requested one. The free Wi Fi was excellent, easy to connect to, quick & reliable. It was a little bit noisy inside the hotel at night but nothing major, certainly not loud enough to upset my sleep. No issues with noise from outside unless I opened the window. On my first morning, housekeeping staff did try to get in to the room earlier than I expected or wanted but were very polite & apologetic when I asked if they could call back later, which they did. A contemporary, stylish bathroom with a shower cubicle, shower head & hose on a rail with good pressure & plenty of hot water, wall mounted hairdryer, mirror, towels & heated towel rad/rail. Continental breakfast, served from 06.30 to 10.00 was ok, not the biggest selection but still enough to set me up for the day. Continental buffet with cereals, yoghurt, cheese, cold meats, bread rolls, croissants, pastries, fresh whole fruits, boiled eggs, tea, coffee & orange juice. There is a nice lounge with a tv & tea/coffee making facilities. Also in the hotel, a pool table, table football & a vending machine with drinks. Checking out, until 12.00, was like checking in, automated. No problem as I had sussed it out when checking in. In a good location, close to everything, bars, cafes, restaurants etc, this hotel really is a good choice for a short stay in Tuttlingen.

Fantastic and personable care of their guests
Reviewed By BloodycuteyunoI just recently finished a two week long stay in Hotel Stadt, and I had an absolutely amazing time, and I am hoping to stay there again for future business trips. the location is amazing. I enjoyed taking morning walks along the river, and there were tons of food options in the plaza for whatever I wanted to eat. The room itself was small but comfortable. The windows are surprisingly good at blocking the sound from any late night carousers, and the curtains block streetlights, The complimentary breakfast was really nice; there was always a wide range of hot and cold breakfast foods, and all of the fruit was really fresh. The different types of bread rolls was also impressive, though admittedly my favorite part of the breakfast was the special jams that were served with the bread; these were absolutely delicious. All of this made for a perfectly fine hotel establishment, though perhaps not one that would have urged me to make a review. The real shining star of my stay was the genuine consideration and thoughtfulness of the staff themselves, exemplified in the following ways: 1) as an English speaker in a foreign country I appreciate immensely the staff that worked with me to understand any requests that I had, even when I couldn't explain them in their native language. 2) There is an option with this hotel to request a lunch to be packed for you if you need one. Early on in my stay I did request a lunch, and I requested that plums not be included in it. I don't remember if I specified that it was because I was allergic to them or not. However, I did notice that for the rest of my stay, plums were not included in the fruit salad that was served every morning for breakfast, and instead were served whole on the side, whereas during the first couple of days of my stay plums had been included in pieces in the fruit salad. While I am not entirely sure the plums were removed from the salad because of my request, I do believe that might have been the case, and I appreciate the gesture immensely. 3) The restaurant staff at the Meet & Eat restaurant that is part of the hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff there are also so welcoming and fun, and contribute to a relaxed, jovial atmosphere. All in all, the family that owns and runs the Hotel Stadt took what could have been a perfectly amenable hotel stay into a 5 star hotel experience that I would be thrilled to be able to experience again in the future, and I wish them all the best moving forward.

Disappointing
Reviewed By MLL79The hotel is on a main road near Tuttlingen. Our room was sparsely furnished and had an unpleasant institutional feel to it although that may have been as it was clearly a room for the disabled. Dinner was disappointing. The staff were friendly and willing but somewhat harassed after the arrival of a large coach party. Breakfast choices were poor and very limited. The room was very expensive for what it was.

Reviewed By Colin CA charming guesthouse not far from the centre of Tuttlingen. I arrived late in the evening but was able to arrange a light meal without trouble. The room was spacious and comfortably equipped with nice views over the village. Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of cereals, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, breads and pastries. Add to this the beauty of the local countryside. If I return to this area, I'll have no hesitation in staying at La Cascina again,

Reviewed By dannyfrank27I enjoyed my stay at the charming Gasthaus Lowen very much. The hotel was clean and quiet, and there were easily accessible walking/biking paths nearby. The beds were comfortable, and the room and bathroom were spacious and newly remodeled. Great wi-fi connection. The staff was extremely friendly and generous, particularly Johannes and Traudl. I had dinner in their restaurant twice and both meals were excellent. The free daily breakfast offered plenty of fresh choices in a cheery dining room as well. Some housekeeping items were never replaced: toilet paper, clean glasses, and soap (reason for 4 stars). In spite of that, I had a pleasant time at Gasthaus Lowen and look forward to returning.

Vom Empfang bis zum Frühstückspersonal ist jeder Mitarbeiter sehr nett und freundlich, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Die ruhige Umgebung lässt einem zwischen Geschäftsterminen runter kommen, komme wieder & kann das Hotel somit einfach nur weiter empfehlen.

Cheap & clean
Reviewed By MeC_TripAdventuresHotel is downtown, easily reachable from the train station (20 min. walk). Forniture is not brand new but everything's definitely clean. Hosts are friendly and breakfast is okay. Cheap, I would book a room there again.
