The rudest staff member I have ever met!
Reviewed By chrislewis05The place itself is lovely and the cakes were wonderful. I visited with a group of friends on holiday and will never return. Despite us speaking in English between ourselves we ordered and communicated with the staff in the best German possible out of respect. However the old woman who served us was incredibly rude from start to finish. She was very annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted to order before we had actually sat down, then brought the wrong drinks for 2 of our guests which in her mind was completely our fault! When I wanted to order a milkshake they didn't have any so I then looked at the menu to choose an alternate drink and she told me to hurry up because the cafe was busy! Upon waiting 20 minutes for the bill, she had added an extra cake which we asked to be removed, again this seemed to be a huge inconvenience for her. Despite us waiting a long time for the bill to arrive she did not give us the courtesy to allow us time gather the money amongst ourselves and stood rolling her eyes, huffing and puffing and then stormed off before returning every 30 seconds or so with the same cold manner. Ultimately she has ruined what was otherwise a wonderful visit to triberg. The toilets were not particularly clean and the ladies toilet had no toilet tissue. It is safe to say we did not leave a tip and I would not recommend this place at all.

Reviewed By ecto77Modern hotel with classic, large, cleaned and well-furnished rooms, for a really 4 star level! Near to the town center in a strategic very silent position, for a really comfort stay, in a so expensive little village. Good and large breakfast, very kind staff, quality/price ratio is no doubt higher than other hotel nearby, you can leave your car for free just in front of the hotel.

Warm welcome to Gasthaus Staude. A family owned and managed guest house in the heart of the Black Forest and only 15 minute drive away from Triberg. Gasthaus Staude features traditionally decorated rooms with solid wooden furniture. Each is complete with a flat-screen TV , well-sized bathroom and charming views of the garden and forests. It offers a restaurant, free WiFi in most rooms, complimentary parking facilities and a block house sauna. Guests can start the day with a hearty buffet breakfast, which is served in our restaurant. Specialities from the Black Forest region can be enjoyed in the on-site restaurant. Those who want to explore the surroundings will find Triberg's Waterfalls just 9.5km away.
Charming and off-the-beaten path
Reviewed By GrunerVeltinerWhile other establishments in Triberg have closed, Gasthaus Staude is going strong thanks to its enthusiastic owners. The dining area is pristine new wood, and the restaurant bathrooms were under construction (alternatives were provided), highlighting their investment in the place. Our room was rustic - exposed wood beams and minimal decor, with a nice little balcony. Proprietors Rolf and Heidi were warm and welcoming, particularly to our young daughter, and provided a nice breakfast buffet. Dinner at the restaurant was also excellent (and convenient); there's a reason the dining room was full at night. Our daughter loved having a little playground right outside, and we appreciated the little "Stuebli" room down the hall as a place to sit with the lights on while she slept. Only downside was that the beds were a bit hard (and the extra child bed was uneven.)

Quirky budget hotel.
Reviewed By James BThis is quite a quirky place. We initially walked to the counter at the bank to start with, not realising the hotel was upstairs! ? (The lift is just by the front door). Triberg is great if you love clocks! This is after all famous for cuckoo clocks, not to mention Germany's highest waterfall which is just a few minutes walk around the corner. The main downside we found was the lack of places to eat! Luckily there was just one restaurant open across the road and they were really warm and welcoming.

Reviewed By Sas SThis was our last stop after long trip. And well worth it. Friendly staff on arrival. Stunning room with comfi bed. Heatinf for the cold wet day. Shower was hot. But the blinds that kept light out for late sleep was my favourite.

Reviewed By Mia VFood was mediocre, service was horrible! The waitstaff was rude and not helpful. When asked a question about the menu, they ignored it and insisted on getting the order because they had a lot to do. Soup and salad dressing tasted watered down. Entrees were not great.
