Reviewed By grwplNice modern hotel with good sized bedrooms, modern and well functioning plumbing. Nice bar area, big restaurant with great indoor and outdoor space. Good Covid precautions throughout the hotel. There was no breakfast buffet because of Covid but the options delivered to each diner were fantastic and could have fed me for the whole day.

Hotel being renovated
Reviewed By David OThis hotel is in a potentially attractive villa a five minute walk from Straubing town centre. However it is being renovated and when we arrived the restaurant was closed. So we were unable to have an evening meal. The room was huge with an enormous jacuzzi bath in an enclosure in the room itself. The breakfast was only average. Convenient parking but all in all not a four star establishment.

Top quality and perfect location
Reviewed By YorkshireAviatorWe stayed here for two nights as a rest stop.The hotel is at the end of the pedestrianised main street with many restaurants,but road access from outside the town is very easy- a ten minute taxi ride from the airfield. Straubing has plenty to see in respect of churches and the immense musum,and there are pleasant level shaded walks to the zoo ,or alongside the Danube. It is hard. to say much about an extremely good four star hotel- I could find no real flaws.I especially liked the large bathroom( superior class room) with no annoyance from the folding shower screen when using the bath.There was a full functional set of furniture in the bedroom ,and even enough coathooks. The breakfast buffet was in a good sized room ,with open windows( fine view) and gloves provided as a Covid consideration.As is often the case in Germany,the tea is far superior to any other country. Service is of a good standard- note that many items ,such as kettle,rubber bath mat etc.are available on request.I shall probably be back when I have more time.

Reviewed By julieDBirminghamWe stayed here on our Danube cycling holiday and you cycle down a road that has a number of derelict buildings once you leave the won centre to get to it, which is a bit off putting. When you get inside the hotel the reception and restaurant look really good quality, and I'm sure the food in the restaurant would be very good. The breakfast was good. The corridors and rooms of the hotel however feel like they need some work doing on them. The rooms feel more like student rooms and the hotel is more basic than you would expect for the money, and its doesn't reflect the price as you walk down the corridors. Good storage for the bikes, and about a 10 minute walk into town.

Modern yet traditional Bavarian restaurant
Reviewed By Günther DIdeal location in the midst of historic old town and yet quiet. Private parking area. After rebuilding the restaurant and hotel you find a modern yet traditional equipment. Very friendly and helpful service, competent and simultaneous original Bavarian. Excellent food with local and international dishes.Its a pleasure to visit "Das Röhrl" every time when coming back from Africa.

Jeder hatte ein anderes Essen wie ihr an den Bildern sehen könnt,geschmacklich sehr gut. Alles in allem kann ich euch das Lokal nur empfehlen

Reviewed By sophia27Compared to other places we stayed in our Danube cycle trip this was more expensive than most so I would rate as not great value. Not a great location, someway from town. Patio area outside faces a busy road. Breakfast was average. On the plus side our room was fine and at the side/back of the building not too noisy. Evening meal OK and quite reasonable price. Friendly staff. I would not stay again.

Reviewed By Serbanescu BI do not recommend this place! I was yesterday with my friend from Croatia here. I asked for two cola and two milk Latte. the note was € 10.50. my friend paid € 50.50. I waited for the rest. I told the waiter to leave the rest of us and he brought us sugar! then went to the bar! when he came back and I asked again the rest said I paid him with 10 € banknote. 40 € ... you do it again. but to be lied to and stolen by profiting from being a stranger ... a waiter who stole and enjoyed some money ...

Reviewed By blownfarawayI stayed here for two nights and they started off with them arriving in a room where another people were still living in. Apparently they should have checked out, but obviously they didn't. I wonder how the cleaning staff didn't see the problem here. After they removed all of the other guests' belongings, we were able to move into the room. The beds were quite ok, but the walls seem to be very thin, because even quiet talking can be heard if the person on the other side is very quiet. Breakfast offers a variety of different things like cheese, sausage, jam, nutelly, ... and was perfectly fine. What kind of bothered me was that they left the used dishes on the tables until everybody was finished with breakfast. This made the room look pretty messy and you had to look for unused dishes first. To sum up: it's ok to stay here for a bit, but I wouldn't consider it one of the top places of Straubing.
