Those who prefer to take it a bit easier or simply enjoy the beauty of nature will find absolute relaxation in soothing silence off the slopes as well. Winter with us at Sonnblick means cosiness, warm service, culinary delights, and the snow playground right outside the front door. Relax, recharge your batteries, and recuperate. No matter if you return from a long winter hike or from skiing. In our house wellness is not the centre of attention, but you do not have to miss it. Our small but inviting wellness area offers everything you need for relaxing. The ski areas Pitztaler Glacier and Rifflsee you´ll reach in 5 minutes with the free ski bus and as an extra service you don't have to queue at the lift ticket office, because you get the ski ticket directly at our reception.

Reviewed By SpetnazOne of my finest hotel experience ever. The place feels so Austrian (I'm French) but in an authentic way. The decoration is beautiful. The spa (hammam, sauna, large jacuzzi, resting room, tea bar, cold room, infrared machine) is huge, perfectly clean and very quiet. Our room was comfortable, with a nice terrace. We had the half-board option and weren't disappointed. The breakfast had a HUGE selection of food and the diner was almost in a "gastronomie" category. Fine and delicious. Special thanks to Yvonne (our waitress) and Jose (our barman) for their smile and professionalism. Best service ever. The place is not specially cheap but worth every euro. One negative though: the bar is too small! At times hard to have a confortable seated drink (too tight). And the hotel could use a selection of board game to rent on snowy days (and a place to play). But place is 10/10 anyway! :-)

Great place, convenient, clean and all you need for snow
Reviewed By Savytravel1971We went ( myself and 8 year old daughter) and stayed here to ski/board on the Pitztal Glacier . It is located 3.5 hours by road from Munich airport. If you go by arranged transport look around ... you could get a van for 5 ( seating comfortably) with gear for 250 Euro each way ( pick up and return). The hotel is located directly opposite ( + or - 10 meters!) from a free bus which takes you to the Funicular base station. It runs like clockwork with the timings posted on reception. It takes about 5 minutes to reach the base station and the funicular runs every 30 minutes or so on an 8 minute journey through the mountain to the top station. We got the 8:43 bus in the morning and the funicular up the mountain at 0905... we were putting or skis on at 0920. The rooms are spacious and clean... we had a twin room for me and my daughter and it was fine regarding space. There was plenty of wardrobe and hanging space for clothes and snow gear. In the bathroom there was a hanging heated rail system to hang snow gloves etc to dry out. There was no bath but a shower with ample hot water. The room itself ( and the hotel) had free WiFi which was fast enough to stream at night and to send email etc for remote work access. There was a TV installed but we did not switch it on the entire 8 days! There is sufficient towels and bath amenities available during your stay for you not to bring if you do not want to ( not sure if they have toothbrush or paste on request as we had our own). We were half board which included breakfast from 7:30 am , afternoon snack at 3pm and evening meal from 6:30 pm. The food was great and evening meal was based on a choice selection u made for main course at breakfast. The afternoon snack and selection was offer a meal in itself! There was secure access ski and boot storage area which had a boot warmer to help dry them out. If you stay here bring a swim suit and sauna stuff as they have one available. The hotel staff were friendly, personal and helpful. In summary , if I was to return to this area to snowboard again I would stay in Gundolf again without any reservation at all.

Reviewed By g_de_gooyerRoom is big and matrasses are high quality. There is a balcony with a beautiful sight on the mountains. We had breakfast and dinner and this was splendid. The area is on the end of the Pitztall , quiet and good position for walking and visiting the highest cafe in Austria.

Reviewed By Mike1981_12We arival late in the evening and we find welcome note and key at reception. Apartment was very spacious, big big balcony, great view. Breakfast and hospitality fo 5*. At the end the owner give us a bottle of their vine. We will be back again.

Location is very good for activities like hiking or visiting the Pitztal Gletscher or Zirben Park in Hochzeiger. The wellness area wasn't fully functioning during our stay. Overall a good holiday experience

Very pleasant owners, sauna, and views
Reviewed By Bart PWe stayed with a family with grown up kids to go skiing in the Pitztal arena. We had a large 2 bedroom apartment. The Rooms were cleaned almost every day (new towels and beds made up). Breakfast (buffet) is excellent with excellent choices. A lunch pakket can be arranged to bring with you (cheaper option than eating lunch at the pistes). We were especially suprised by the sauna. It is large and well equipped. It is open from 16:00 till 20:00. Next door is the Hexenkessel, great for apres-ski and a good spareribs diner. Parking your car can be done in the garage, avoiding being snowed in.
