Relaxing long weekend

Reviewed By smithyronny

We stayed in one of the bungalows and it was clean and spacious. The staff looked after us very well. We dined on freshly caught seafood everyday and Manu was kind enough to arrange for some to bring back to Honiara with us! The staff booked a day trip for us to skull island which was amazing. Our only complaint was there were 3 of us and only 2 hammocks to relax in!

Relaxing Secluded Hideaway

Reviewed By Alida C

We stayed here for 4 days when visiting the Western Province and found the island a perfect place for quiet and relaxation. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals were varied and sumptuous. Our room was modern and from the balcony we could watch small and large vessels going past. We swam from the small beach and visited the village of Halisi on the main island across the water. We enjoyed the walk around the island and relaxing on our balcony enjoying the views. The island as in many places in the Solomon Islands has limited power, but we were able to charge our phones and the absence of hot water was not an issue given the daily temperatures and humidity! We enjoyed our stay, especially the friendliness of the staff who made us welcome and the experience of this lovely environment.

Great Place to Stay

Reviewed By 993anitat

Agnes Gateway Hotel is located in the heart of Munda. You can literally walk from the airport to the Lodge. It is located on the water and has fabulous views over the islands. The dive shop is on the same grounds which makes diving very easy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the individual cottages which was quite large, comfortable and clean. The restaurant which is located nearby has daily specials which are very reasonably priced. The food is excellent and there is a lot of fresh seafood on the menu. Don't go there expected 5 star or a place that runs like clockwork as it doesn't. Enjoy island time and enjoy the wonderful surrounds ad very happy, friendly locals.

Rekona lodge is a popular accommodation in Gizo. Friendly staff and a great base from which to explore and enjoy your holiday.

Loved my stay!

Reviewed By amyelisab3

I stayed with Rekona on a prolonged trip to Gizo working at the nearby hospital. The lodge was ideal - close to the market, waterfront, shops, and only a short walk into the hospital each morning. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were kept beautifully clean. The shared kitchen was very well equipped. I stayed in the lower level of the Island Wing, the rooms had a fridge, kettle, en suite with hot water, air con, and a fan. I found I was easily able to keep cool! WiFi was also available for free in the reception - considering that WiFi is patchy on the island, a major advantage! I would definitely recommend staying here!! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Their motto is "Step off the map", and this is exactly what you do. No phones, no internet (unless you ask). Fantastic way to turn the world off and relax. Great fishing, endless things to do. The perfect hosts. We arrived as guests and left, having become friends. Definitely, highly, recommend it, and looking forward to going back. Did I mention the food???? Unbelievable!
