Lovely rural hotel
Reviewed By Trek24888412865Lovely hotel which grew on us as the days went by. In a very pretty and rural location. A car is a must unless you simply want to stay in resort. The grounds are beautifully kept and is where the bedrooms are. Our room was unfortunately very dark meaning all the lights had to be kept on at all times. Mealtimes are a buffet and food in the restaurant is really good. The pools are great with a picture perfect backdrop. Beds with built in sun shades round the pool. Beach is lovely as is the beach bar. There is a cheap pizzeria up the road from the hotel however would take half an hour plus to walk there, it’s a very short drive though.

Nice scenery and lots of things to do in a short distance from the hotel or even at the hotel. Near Alghero with its beautiful Old City and Lots of nature on hiking distance. Nice beaches nearby and don't forget to see the caves op Neptune!

The first time we visited as a couple and always said we would return if we were lucky enough to have a child in the future. Fast forward 5 years, as we returned. This time as husband and wife and with a 2 year old in tow. The hotel was exactly how we remembered, the staff were all wonderful, they all made you feel welcome, and couldn’t do enough for you. They were excellent with communications pre visit, ensuring we had a suite. We booked a hire car for the stay again, and I would recommend this to anyone looking to visit as the hotel is a drive away from places. However they do have shuttles if you can’t drive, or don’t want to hire a car: We arrived later than planned in the evening due to an unexpected delay with flights and the team were there to welcome us and make us feel instantly at home. Their team had prepared a lovely room service meal for us that we walked into and relaxed straight away. We had a small 2 year old child, and she and we, were made to feel very very welcome by all the staff and management. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Dinner at the restaurant early for our child, no problem. Dinner for our child in our room, no problem. Dinner in the bistro, no problem. Each time, we were asked hat would you like, and we had a custom menu every night for our child, which was amazing service. The only improvement we would say would be nice if they had some kind of small child’s food menu for parents to choose from , however you cannot find too much fault when the team cook a custom meal each night for you! Maitre Marco and his team were very friendly and very warm and hospitable. Their team work hard across many shifts breakfast, lunch and dinner, but clearly they all love working as a team and love their jobs and place of work. Service with a smile is always guaranteed. Nicola the GM was as happy and as welcoming as he was 5 years ago, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was busy but never ever felt busy, if that makes sense. Their are loads of sun loungers, a big pool, a kids pool and a beautiful little beach with an infinity pool and plenty of open space. We love the hotel and resort feel, it just works so well. If you are considering a stay in south Sardinia, this is a place you have to visit. You won’t be disappointed. We’re already looking forward to our third visit sometime in the future. Thank you!

Reviewed By Bianca TMy husband and I spent 5 glorious days at La Villa del Re as part of our honeymoon in Italy. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! It was an absolutely magical stay. The room we had was fantastic - spacious and clean, light and airy. Housekeeping tidied up twice per day which kept it consistently clean. The real magic of this place is its people. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. They are friendly, kind and professional and are an excellent example of five star service. To Sara at reception, Ivan at Le Palme restaurant, Matteo at the Bella Villa restaurant, and the countless other staff members we crossed paths with - thank you for your hard work, dedication and kindness. We had a truly wonderful stay and will absolutely return. I would also be remiss if I did not mention a true joy as part of our stay - the amazing food. Each restaurant has absolutely delicious food. We tried a number of pastas, fish, even a hamburger, and each meal was better than the last. On our last night there was a special dish- pig roasted in the Sardinian manner served with potatoes or veggies. It was delectable- crisp on the outside and incredibly tender inside. Each meal was fantastic- we ate so well during our entire stay. And of course the beach was stunningly beautiful - the clear blue/green water and sandy beach makes you immediately feel as though you’re in the Caribbean. Sardegna is heaven on earth. We’ll cherish the wonderful memories we made here and hope to return soon. If you’re considering this hotel for your visit to Sardegna I would 100% recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!

A good hotel with a great restaurant
Reviewed By Guthrie1We stayed here for two nights in May and had a great experience. The rooms were modern, clean and very comfortable. It's not a hotel with great views and it is a bit out of the way if you want somewhere that's walking distance to the beach/shops. There is a Lidl and a Euronics centre across the road which doesn't feel very holiday-like, however what the hotel lacks in views it certainly makes up for in service, which is excellent. Nothing is too much and we would certainly stay again. The pool is nice and I can imagine when the seating is available for outside dining it's a lovely place to be. We did order a pizza (poolside ) and this was not bad. However, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening and the food was fabulous. This is a good hotel. The only thing I would add is that the 'Turkish bath' is what we in London call a 'steam room', it's a very nice steam room nonetheless and the use of it was included in the room rate which was a nice bonus.

Beautiful resort

The staff are friendly and it's well managed and clean The only thing that let's this place down is the food, unfortunately this is not in line with rest of the hotel. The cooked breakfast is OK but way over cooked and rubbery but the dinner is disappointing not much choice and tasteless even the pasta was chewy and hard. I would recommend going here without all inclusive and enjoy local restaurants instead.

An oasis of tranquility

During our many years we have stayed in hundreds of hotels but have never met such outstanding staff as here. Efficient, very friendly and extremely helpful. Special mention must go to the waitresses Dina and Manuella and the receptionists Betty and Anna and also the man whose name I didn't catch. We highly recommend this place for anyone visiting northern Sardinia.

Not a nice hotel
Reviewed By Gillian OWe booked a room with a balcony but on arrival we were told that due to a conference in the hotel we couldn’t have that type of room so they put us in a horrible dark room on the ground floor with no natural sunlight and a dark terrace, it was freezing cold day and night and the staff were very unsympathetic also the shower was so small that I kept hitting my elbows off the door and I am small so a bigger person would be unable to wash also the property is a good 30 minute walk with bad street lights from the main town so I would not recommend

The staff, Augusto, Giovanni, Luca and Fernando were absolutely amazing! All their recommendations for dinner and site seeing were superb. The views from our room, pool and bar are spectacular. We loved being pampered by the staff at Hotel Balocco and will return.
