Reviewed By veronicahR6947IZlast minute booking as no other place available, paid $246 to sleep in a very hot room, no a/c, rotating fan placed on counter at bedside, travelling with a friend and if we stood finger tip to finger tip we could touch the opposite walls, the room was soooooo small, when opening the bathroom door it was only inches away from the edge of the bed, room was crammed with a table and 2 chairs and I'm not sure why as there was no room to pull out the chairs to sit, I think the tv was bigger than the bed, the bathroom had holes in the walls, no bathtub and the shower head was about 4 inches from the curtain with about 3 feet on the other side????? don't let the looks of the exterior fool you, I would never stay here again and not recommend to anyone, the only good thing about this place was it's proximity to the ferry

Reviewed By SpackstorBest hotel in this price range weve stayed in so far in our venture into the gaspesie. Primarily french speaking manager was helpful. Room was newly renovated and comfortable. Location is at the mouth of a river into the saint laurence. An interesting view under a bridge to the saint laurence. Really liked the place. Would stay again.

Reviewed By 718sylviepCharmant petit motel entièrement rénové (matelas, meubles, planchers). Très propre et agréable odeur de lavande sur les lieux (réception, chambre). La chambre contient des commodités pour agrémenter le séjour (frigo, micro-ondes et cafetière). Le propriétaire est accueillant et suggère des sites à visiter. Seul petit bémol ; nous n'avons pas obtenu la chambre qui nous avait été assignée lors de notre réservation ; nous devions être au 2e étage (au lieu du 1er étage) pour bénéficier d'une belle vue sur le fleuve. Par contre, la chambre était très confortable et tranquille. Nous y retournerons certainement. A noter que contrairement à l'annonce sur le site Web, le petit déjeuner n'est pas inclus ; le restaurant adjacent au motel est fermé. Il y a un seul restaurant au village qui est ouvert à cette période de l'année.

Predatory, Unethical -- DO NOT STAY HERE
Reviewed By alexlY4801VUThis Motel took advantage of me when I made a simple error booking on BOOKING.COM. I arrived at the hotel an hour later to modify my reservation for that night but they pressured me into reserving through the hotel directly and then refused to refund the reservation I made in error for the following night. They never even tried to re-rent the room for the next night. *They are thieves. Unethical and predatory. Full stop. Do not stay here. Oh - also, there was a hillbilly bonfire going on across the parking lot. It made us feel unsafe.

We sat on our deck chairs and watched the belugas cavort right in front of us... Amazing; Priceless !!! A three star otherwise, but if you get to see the belugas it is over the top !

Reviewed By Solange RClaudette and Gilles are very welcoming and helpfull. The homemade breakfast was tasty. All was perfect for us . We were a couple with two youngs adults, our grand-children. We shared a bathroom. Claudette give us many inications to discover the surroundings.

Reviewed By probashi123Stayed there for two nights with my family and friends. Huguette was a wonderful host. She was very accommodating. Breakfast was great. Her homemade Jam was delicious. Rooms are decent size. All rooms are furnished and were very cozy. Don't forget to see the night sky while you are there. Also, make sure you have your breakfast outside on the patio. Rooms were very cozy and accommodated with everything you need.

Reviewed By JeffBHongKongOut of options after trying so many hotels, B&B, etc... which were all full, we ended up at La Charmeuse camping ground right behind the Gite as there was no more rooms there either, and stayed in a trailer. The owner was absolutely sweet and helpful. We had a great time around a fire in the evening after being given very clear and helpful instructions. The facility is very decent for the common areas and the location is only a couple kilometers from the wonderful village of Port-Au-Persil.

Reviewed By CamiladelavNous étions sur le chemin côtier vers Saint Simeon, puis l’aube nous annonçait qu’il fallait arrêter pour s’y trouver une place pour dormir. Nous avons trouvé un petit coin de repos municipal face au fleuve. Les mains sur les cellulaires pour trouver une place où dormir. Tout était complet. Je me disais que dormir dans l’auto face au fleuve serait une belle anecdote à vivre. Il y’avait un bain bleu pas très propre. Mais, j’étais un peu fatigué de cherche, aussi j’étais tenté pour vivre une aventure à la belle étoile et sortir de ma zone de confort. Vous diriez à quoi servent les sites internet « réserver d’avance ». Parce que, nous avons pris un court séjour sur les terres de Charlevoix sans trop organisation. Les vacances de la Construction étaient fini, fait que prendre des risques dans la vie, nous tiens plus vivantes et débrouillardes. Mais, mon époux ne voulait pas dormir dans l’auto, fait que nous avons décidé de marcher et demander porte à porte des gîtes, motels et hôtels. Par contre, sur la falaise avait un grand complexe de chalets, chambres, motels et des hôtels. Je rentre pour demander, puis le monsieur me dit qu’il le reste une chambre disponible,sauf que ne se trouve pas au même endroit. Il dit « je te laisse la chambre pour la somme 139$ cash. Il fait un appel en nous disant qu’une personne va nous recevoir à l’autre endroit, puis il écrit dans un morceau de papier le nom du motel en nous indican comment arriver. Nous arrivons au lieu puis la personne nous accueille agréablement. Il nous explique où est la chambre sauf que nous devions stationner face à la crémerie pour manque de place à côté du chalet. À première vue, toute était propre et paressait en règle. La peinture a était fait et les couleurs sont agréables pour une nuit de repos. La salle bain est complète avec des shampoings, savon et des serviettes des mains, petites et de bains. Aussi, il y a un frigo. La chambre est grande et le plus merveilleux c’est qu’elle a une vue privilégiée sur le fleuve salé. Même si l’endroit se trouve en face du traversier, le silence est perceptible. Le réveil face au soleil et un café font le kit complet. L’unique bémol c’était que le wifi n’a jamais fonctionné.
