A day trip to Patara, a few miles farther west from Kalkan, offers the chance to combine horseback riding, history and sand surfing. Once an important Lycian port town, legend has it that Patara is the birthplace of Apollo and with certainty it’s the birthplace of St. Nicholas. Horseback riding for riders of all ages and capabilities is available for rides along the 22 kilometers of white beaches. And so is sand surfing.

Apollon Hotel is a relatively small size (21 rooms) hotel running by a local family (just like the other hotels in Patara). We stayed several times during last 4 years. - All the times we found everything so clean. - All the times we found the management & operation (Yasar bey, his daughters Sinem and Sude and his wife) so energetic / effective / pleasant / homelike / reliable. - All the times we experienced excellent service. - All the times we were happy for staying at this hotel.

This is a family run pension where Mustafa and Ayse and their two sons Bekir and Semih will do everthing possible to make your stay enjoyable. Our pension has been open since 1986 and we have lots of experience looking after guests and also lots of knowledge about the area and the many places to see. Ayse is famous for her delicious Turkish cooking, using lots of home grown fruit vegetables and herbs, try her special casserole for a real treat. Breakfast is traditionally Turkish with olives, cheese, tomato, cucumber, eggs, fresh baked bread and of course Ayse's homemade jams and marmalade.
After two years with the pandemic, it is so good to be back. Another amazing experience with amazing friends, old and new. Time goes by too fast, but there's always next year. Hopefully will be able to fit a couple of visits in then......

The Golden Lighthouse Hotel is a delightful family run hotel surrounded by landscaped gardens and set in an elevated position just a couple of minutes walk (200m) from Patara village centre. The hotel has a relaxing ambiance, where you are made to feel at home from the moment you arrive.
We spent one week as two families with kids ranging from one to 10 years. We all had a splendid time. The hotel is very clean, surrounded by greenery like any other in Patara, it has a nice swimmimg pool with a pool bar, a slide, places to eat and rest like hammocks. The staff and owners are very nice and helpful. The location is great - the hotel sits on a hill offering a beautiful view. Many restaurants are 3 minutes walking away and the magnificent Patara beach is just 5 minutes ride. You can find many attractive locations like kanyons, hiking trails, historical sites very near. It's definetely worth recommending

Established in 1984 as the first pension in Patara the "Golden" continues to extend a warm welcome to everyone who stays there. Set in the heart of the village, this friendly family owned pension has 14 comfortable rooms and a delightful rooftop restaurant. Start your day with a traditional Turkish breakfast under the vines and return here for a delicious meal in the evening.
We are here a week, but I'm already calling this place my other home. First I must say that this is a pansion, therefore do not expect some ultra, turbo, de luxe hotel, in opposite its a simple, nice, quiet place with a spirit of, for most of us, lost family world. Rooms are not big but beds are big and very comfortable. Its in quite surrounding and sleeping is very good. The entire place is very clean. The restaurant is excellent. We will be back for sure.
