LOUD, DRUNK, NOISY PEOPLE

Reviewed By H4185FScarolynk

We stayed last summer (it's a lovely place so we returned) and there were drunk, loud people at 2:00 am outside at a common area picnic table. One of the men was using filthy language because he appeared to be obviously impaired. We called the owners who spoke to them but just told them to move, which they did to the front near the water and it was even louder. Owners didn't monitor the situation and we cancelled the rest of our stay. In the morning the owners said they couldn't control this. My question is "then who is and who controls the property". I wanted the one night refunded because we did not sleep and management didn't ensure it stopped either by monitoring themselves or calling the police.. Th owner also said something strange to me that he cannot control people who drink and drive. The owner doesn't seem to know where private property starts and ends and what is public property. Absolutely unfortunate. We will definitely not return.

Good place/ wrong room

Reviewed By LeahMila

We used Expedia to book our room and decided to pay a bit extra to get a King size bed. Once we checked in and got to our room it was a room with 2queen size beds. We called down to the lobby and they told us that the manager had to change our room last minute. It would have been nice to get a heads up? As we wanted a king bed to enjoy a couples weekend and could have chosen to stay at a different hotel that would accommodate. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel was booked as well as other rooms in the area. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and kind and apologetic. She told us that our 2 Queen beds room was actually a more expensive room than having a king bed room. Which was odd because we specifically decided to spend more to get the king room. The lady at the front desk stated that we would be charged the lesser value room on our bill. The service was great, location was close to beach and the room was clean, the breakfast was decent and we were able to enjoy our night regardless but We just felt it was inconsiderate for the manager to not notify us that our room was being changed leaving us with no resort but to accept the room or sleep in our car.

Got in well after dark, room was clean, beds comfortable and the shower had great hot water and pressure. We stayed in the motel portion, very affordable; in fact I would say suspiciously cheap compared to other places I've stayed on this trip based on how beautiful the property is. Woke up to a beautiful lake front view to gawk at while having morning coffee, definitely going to make a point of staying here on the return trip.

First Room They Gave Me Was GROSS!

Reviewed By lemieuxg

I checked into this Comfort Inn on January 31st and was not impressed with the first room they gave me. The computer chair was in such poor condition, it should have been thrown into a garbage dump a long time ago (it was bent backwards like a reclining chair - not reclined, but damaged - how can you work on your computer with a chair like that - the chair seat also had a large stain on it - no way was I going to use or sit in that filthy chair!). I took the chair to the front desk and they gave me a fairly new one which was behind the front desk to replace this defective and filthy dirty one). In addition to the defective/dirty chair, the sliding doors were in very poor condition; they are so worn out, that they did not operate properly. Once I got back to the room with the replacement chair, I went to use the bathroom and noticed that the sink stopper was sitting on the sink counter rather than being in the drain at the bottom of the sink where it belongs. I then noticed how filthy dirty the sink was (hair, dirt, something that looked like spit/snot, etc.); I put water in the sink and it would not drain - the drain was fully blocked. How can they rent out a room in this condition? This plugged sink surely has been plugged for quite some time now (the drain entrance looked very gross - lots of spit, unknown debris, etc, in it). I then had enough and went to the front desk and complained about the condition of the room; the front desk clerk gave me the room next door to this room (she did apologize for the condition of the room). The replacement room was much better, although I still had reservations about staying the night after what I just went through with the first room. I left the hotel the following morning shortly after 6:00 am; there were two roofing contractor employees in the main lobby without face masks on - the front desk clerk was right behind the front desk, but did nothing about these two workers not wearing masks. HELLO; it's a requirement to wear masks in the Province of Ontario during this Covid-19 pandemic! I have never been so happy to leave a hotel as I was when I checked out the following morning; I definitely will never return to this particular Comfort Inn in the future.
