Consistently amazing!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! We went back for the 3rd time for a weekend getaway from Dubai and every time absolutely love this place. The architecture and design, the small details, the villas and their amenities, the fantastic service, our very responsive GEM Julius (glad they finally introduced whatsapp service), the beautiful beach, all is superb! We even got early check-in so were able to speand extra time. The only minus I would give is for the exorbitant food and drinks prices. I fully understand a place like this as remote as this comes at a price but I still was a bit shocked to be honest. And that is us living in Dubai going to fine dining restaurants regularly. Regardless, for one night it was ok for us hence 5 points and it will remain to be our most lived staycation spot in the Middle East.

Nice hotel but do not stay here in May/June

Reviewed By D2793FUandrewv

Lovely hotel and staff are superb. Rooms and restaurant all good. On arrival greeted with an overwhelming smell of fish !! to the point we didn’t want to go out to get used to it and grateful the room air con had removed it. Spoke to reception and they advised it’s for 2 months of the year May/June (took there word for it) as it’s fish drying season nearby. Nothing they can do about it / they’ve tried and it isn’t there fault but they really should have put this on their site and hence be more open about the problem at this time of year. You’ve been warned !

Atana Khasab

Atana Khasab is surrounded by the majestic Musandam mountains and overlooking the Strait of Hormuz. Proximate to the hotel lie the fjords that contributed to the epithet, "The Norway of Arabia". A true haven for those who love the great outdoors, Atana Khasab offers the perfect setting to explore the history, culture and landscape of an archaic city.

Fabulous service and welcome.

Driven up from Dubai on route for a Dhow cruise on the Musandam fjords.
Takes about 3 hours.
Breaking up the trip by having one nights stay in the Antana Khassab Hotel.

What an amazing genuine warm welcome by Huda the reception MGR and Kholoud. The ladies made us feel right at home!

After we explained that we had a boat tour the following day they offered a late check out … didn’t even have to ask. So sweet!
Great room #101 location with direct access to the pool and terrace.
They even have a hot tub.!
So relaxing and quiet surrounded by ocean and picturesque mountains (We are visiting on a weekday ) My elderly parents visited the restaurant and had a lovely evening meal and returned to the room reporting what fabulous service, delicious food and conversation they had had with Mr Rasheed Al Balushi the service manager. Who made their evening very special ( thank you ! ) Followed by a surprise of a birthday cake personally delivered to our room door ! Wow … how thoughtful. I totally recommend stopping over at this quaint hotel, for a night or two if your visiting the Musandam area and or what a quiet break from the UAE. Another tip, book directly with the hotel, web site or by phone. (Better rates than the usual .com sites.)
Thank you everyone at the hotel for making our trip special and memorable.

Tired and expensive

Reviewed By Dakles

There isn’t a lot of accommodation available in Khasab and this hotel is about the best deal but at the equivalent of $94 per night it falls a long way short of delivering good value. The hotel is worn and tired throughout and needs some serious inward investment to bring it up to scratch. Rooms are clean and are a good size with large comfortable beds but everything is just in need of upgrade. Sound insulation is poor and you hear all noise from the corridor in your room. Breakfast is buffet style and is actually very good with a broad selection but is an interesting affair nonetheless. The young lady who takes the room numbers also manages the toaster which results in people waiting around for toast instead of moving on to the buffet proper. This causes a significant log-jam of people being made to wait to give in their room numbers and get their breakfast started. The shining light of the hotel has to be the ladies on reception who are all really lovely, bubbly people. The pool is quite nice, and very clean, but there are only 5 sun beds and they are a very basic design of canvass on a metal frame with cross support bars that offer no comfort. We ate in the hotel restaurant once and the food was very good but it’s quite expensive. If you step out of the hotel and turn left it’s about a 12 minute walk to a small commercial area where there are a number of local restaurants at much lower prices. There are also shops and banks. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle bus to the airport.

Good for a B&B place

Reviewed By EKBizTraveller

The hotel was l I cates right next to the dhow tour company so that made it easy for us. The dhow was of course the highlight. So a simple B&B is what we were looking for and this hotel worked for us. We got a family suite which came with a sofa bed in the separate living room area. Staff were helpful and the bellboy who also did the housekeeping was efficient but probably overworked. He also took care of maintenance! Breakfast was simple but ample and they had an egg station which was manned by the infamous 'egg cooker' mentioned in a previous review, who certainly lived up to his reputation. He policy is to serve local Arabs first and was not the least bothered about everyone else. So it's a good hotel for a one nighter and would surely recommend for short stays.

We tried variety of foods and it was delicious. Some of the traditional food were soo good that i had to ask for recipe. We also booked the dhow cruise and mountain safari with this agency and everyone loved it. We had a great time in Khasab and would love to visit again. Excellent value for money

Khasab is a beautiful relaxing place in musandam Oman and what could be better than staying in your own self contained apartment with friends. Two bedrooms, really comfortable beds great facilities. The staff are really helpful and nice. The breakfast is basic but fills you up for the day. The restaurant I think is under utilized and could do some nice basic evening meals possibly with a bottle of beer or a glass of wine as it’s a wonderful building with character and atmosphere. Pool area is nice and relaxing with a nice pool. Temperature nice- once your in. Refreshing after a long day.

Excellent place to spend an weekend and even more

Stayed for one weekend at Dibba Beach Resort Hotel. Before arriving, we were little bit concerned about what we will actually find after COVID there. However, we were extremely positively surprised to find that the hotel is very clean, with good services for the money paid and with extremely friendly, supportive and responsive team, particularly Mr. Mustafa, who also provided us lot of support and many advices in advance and while being at hotel. The dinner buffet is definitely worth of its around 70 dirhams / 16.5 euro per person. We enjoyed the broad beach with perfect sand and feel its serenity, the crystal clear waters and had the chance seeing the fishermen releasing two turtles back to sea on our beach. Made the tour with dhow / ship from the nearby port and took photos of the sea cave, rode the sea banana, had snorkeling, kayaking and fishing, plus and excellent lunch on board. Last day we entered on the road towards Khasab up to the pass and enjoyed the wilderness of Musandam. The rooms are large, all with sea view, with clean linen and large and comfortable beds and having fridge, safe and hair dryer. There is billiard, gym with tennis table and table football (not state of the art but still OK). Some items need some maintenance or to be replaced, especially the water pads at the swimming pool showers, but, overall, it is an excellent choice for the money, and we will definitely go again there, especially if the PCR test requirements from UAE side will be lifted.

Over priced even for such basic facilities

Reviewed By Phoebe T

There wasn't much to like about this hotel except perhaps the location. f it had been significantly cheaper then it would have been excusable but at the price charged it was way too expensive for such a low level of comfort. The aircon was noisy and so smelly that we had to open the window regularly throughout the night to let the fumes out. Needless to say not much sleep was had.
