Reviewed By MinchinhamptonCommonTravelling with my adult son, I booked via hotels.com and selected a twin bedded junior suite but was given a double. After contacting reception to ask for a second quilt so we could separate the beds, was told this wasn’t possible as no staff (I assume housekeeping). It took over an hour from my call to arrange a twin room. (The reception staff were apologetic blaming being very busy) I would expect a hotel of this standing to deal with with such an issue as a matter of priority. (We had a similar issue at another hotel during our trip that was resolved in minutes with an appropriate reduction in room rate!). Although we enjoyed the food, I had to ask a second time for the ordered wine Asked for bill to sign but gave up after 10-15 minutes; no staff available to ask when leaving. (See below) The bill did not include dinner. When I pointed this out, I was presented with a picture of me and an accusory “Is that you? Why didn’t you give your room number?” Despite having to be moved to a lower grade room, I was still charged the junior suite rate. The attitude of the receptionist did not incline me to complain as I already felt he consider that the person in the photo (me) was a criminal trying to get a free dinner, even though it was me that pointed out that the bill didn’t include dinner. I won't stay here again

Reviewed By Emma Lynn TWe stayed with the Flair voucher for 1 night. The lady at the desk was really sweet and helpfull. It could be a better stay because we especially came for the sauna/jacuzzi but we could only use the jacuzzi because the group of boys before us made a mess and the electronics of the sauna were down. We had a drink in the bar wich was nice. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. BUT there was this aweful buzzing sound the whole night (like a running motor or something). I went crazy… For us the breakfast was amazing! A lot of choices, healthy options and good food. Parking spaces available in front of the hotel. In our opinion it is a good place to stay 1 night.

Reviewed By Journey417071Hotel Lido isn’t a 4 star anymore. It’s clean and fairly modern. But when the kitchenette at the room is poorly equipped for preparing food at night you don’t get what you order for. The breakfast is ok, but when it’s empty for egg and bacon and the answer is “it’s empty “ you don’t feel well taken care of. Where it’s located is it’s asset. But next time I will stay at Hotel Van Der Valk, which is modern.

Reviewed By webwalker222I stayed for 3 nights in April and loved it. Having stayed in a Martin hotel previously in Mechelen, I knew what to expect. Upon booking I requested the room with the big round window, which is called the Carnaval room. It's on the 3rd floor, where most of the other themed rooms are. The lift was a plus! Note there are a few steps to get into the hotel itself but they may have a workaround for wheelchair users, just FYI. Contact them before booking, to be sure. Good wet room, excellent shower pressure, huge bed. TV channels were glitchy. They have a laundry service but it's pricey, I found a laundrette in the street behind the hotel which had great hours. Lots of space. The restaurant was good for dinner and the free breakfast was plentiful. Staff extremely helpful. Did I mention the bed? It was huge and very comfy. Will stay again.

Reviewed By petes446A good location a short walk from the city centre restaurants and bars. Pleasant rooms in the annexe which suites our needs as we were on a cycle tour. Secure parking in the large courtyard garden. The bar is basically the receptionist getting beers etc from a fridge but we were able to enjoy on he small terrace. Can't comment on the quality of the breakfast as we ate outside the hotel Overall, reasonable value for money for the quality and location

Reviewed By 503garykOur experience at the Ibis Hotel in Mons was our worst experience the entire time in Belgium. The man at the counter was rude, unhelpful and angry when we asked for help. We booked 3 rooms and they only had two of them available. So when we asked about the missing room the man working at the desk was completely rude and unhelpful.

Reviewed By melissa992This is the second time that my husband and I have stayed at this hotel, and given our experiences both times, I do not think that we would choose to stay anywhere else while visiting family in Belgium. Baran is super welcoming and one could not ask for a better host! On this visit, we stayed in one of the larger apartments on the first floor, with a delightful view of the garden. It was extremely quiet and peaceful, and the breakfasts were, as always, copious and delicious. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the decor, with its mix of modern and antique, is delightful. Highly recommended!

FRAUD, DON'T BOOK WITH THEM!!
Reviewed By AnenKristIk would like to write that it was a nice stay, but we never entered the building: We payed in advance for the stay of 9 persons (the whole house)&when we were at the house on the date/hour as agreed in advance, WE NEVER HEARD OF THE HOST!! No key, no code, no communication! We waited in the rain for 1.5h with 3 little children, a pregnant lady&2 elderly people. Afterwords Mons Dragon House still denies that we were there at the agreed day, "the waited for us". Very strange since the communication in advance is very clear&it's all written down - there shouldn 't be any confusion. WE NEVER SAW OUR MONEY AGAIN!! (Ik would like to note 0 stars, but that's not an option)

Suite with 2 rooms for 1 to 4 people. Villa in a residential area of Mons surrounded by a landscaped garden, on the edge of the wood of Havré / no sound nor environmental nuisance. 3 km City Center, train station and shopping mall "Les Grands Prés". 20km of Pairi Daiza.

Reviewed By amandinewThe Chambourlettes B&B is located 10 min from downtown Mons in a beautiful, quiet and safe residential area. There is nothing accessible by foot but it is the price to pay to sleep in such a peaceful neighborhood. What you will get is much more than a room : it is an independent part of the house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a TV room (with a small desk) and a "living room" with fridge/microwave/ kettle and coffee machine and a great reading chair. Oh, and because you're in Belgium, you are offered great local beer for a small fee ! Everything is decorated with taste. The bed in the main room is super comfy and I appreciated little extras such as bathrobes or slippers (even if I didn't use them for environmental purposes). The price varies on the number of people staying in, which is fair. Therefore, it can be the perfect place for a business traveler or a family. Breakfast was good and it is included in the price, which tends to be less and less common. The couple managing the place is adorable, they just want you to enjoy your stay.

Emeline and Nicolas are very happy to welcome you to their Bed and Breakfast. In a “Maraicher” house with old charm, now fully restored, the proposed comfort is 3 stars. The location is ideal, near the amenities of the center of Mons and the countryside; at the foot of “Mont Panisel”. Up to 4 people (only one accommodation in the house), the place is proposed under 2 formulas: Apart-Hotel (only nights) or in Bed and Breakfast (nights with breakfast). Thanks to 2 separate bedrooms, a living area with kitchenette and a separate entrance, you enjoy a stay with family or friends, or even between colleagues. You find calm and comfort in all intimacy and independence. There is also a private parking space, an access to the garden and a secure room for bikes. Wifi is available in the whole accommodation.
