Nice Hotel - Rude Staff
Reviewed By R7365FUjohnwPositives: Hotel itself was very nice. Buffet breakfast in the morning was good, apart from everything hot was just put in bowls on a counter top, so got cold very quickly. The room was nice and big with large super king bed and sofa bed. The Spa/Sauna area was very nice. Negatives: The staff! Very rude towards our group of friends, to the point they made it obvious we weren't welcome there. There was one young female member of staff, whom when I asked a simple question, she threw her hands in the air and walked off, which I thought was quite bizarre. Maybe she was having trouble with understanding English, I'm not sure, but this exact attitude continued for the 4 days we were there! Another senior member of staff, was so disinterested in making us welcome, to the point she was talking to us all as though she was a teacher, barking orders and generally being not very pleasant. We generally travel to Austria every year, and this is by far the worst king of treatment we have had to endure. All German/Dutch/Swiss guests seemed to get preferential treatment, maybe they just don't like English guests? Also rooms extremely hot with no temperature control available, so had to sleep with the windows open overnight. Not ideal when it's -6c.

Reviewed By gilbertv970We had a perfect stay with four friends in hotel Astellina. The hotel is close to the bus station, the rooms are very clean and breakfast was very good (nice coffee!). Also the new ski depot near the Pardatschbahn is perfect! But what really stands out is the owner Dietmar Walser, a very nice and outspoken guy and a great host!

Wonderful ski vacation again
Reviewed By elenabutokApart Andrea is the ideal accommodation you can find! Very clean, modern, spacy with all necessary equipment in the kitchen etc.. Very very nice and helpful owners. Beautiful river in front of the apart where you can walk with the kids or dogs (like we did) after the ski day. You can order bread service each morning. Ski bus is just in front of the apart. So you park your car at the beginning and don't touch till the end. Very reasonable price. Ski room is very spacy and clean.

Reviewed By Johan VThe hotel is completely renovated in 2017 and offer larges rooms with satelite tv, spa-wellness with sauna, steambad, infra red sauna and relax room and verry good food (5course dinner). I really recomend this hotel

Stay in cue for bathroom
Reviewed By doiniWe were five in a small apartment : bedroom with comfortable bed , another liliputan bedroom with 2 beds and fantastic mountain view , and a small open space with kitchinette , one bed and a generous 6 persons table . Here comes the real problem : bathroom with 2 washbasins and separate room for toilet but no washbasin inthere . So we had to use the kitchen sink to wash hands after toilet . Where are the sanitary regulations there? You are supposed to get out of a sanitary room with clean hands and not the way we did . Had i been a designer , i would have placed one of those two washbasins in the toilet and a toilet bowl in the bathroom.... When we reached there we were asked 77 more euros for cleaning , so they do apreciate cleanliness . We paid for the internet which was ok but for the mail which simply didn ' t work , neither viber or facebook. Couldn 't solve the problem because the attendant had in charge the next apartment house too and could hardly find her . Or she left there a young only deutch speaking lady. One night we asked for clean towels and the main atendant Silvia , said she is too tired then , as she ' d been on a 1400 km journey to the dentist ' s. I insisted to come myself to fetcth them and she wilingly did allow me. Otherwise , the place is proper ,nice , quiet , very well warmed ,excellent views , 3 min walk to bus station for Ischgl. I will gladly go back in Mathon , making myself sure i will not face "that" problem again . Rush hours , very important for those ones travelling on saturdays to the Munchen airport : between 11 and 14 o' clock the highways have the so called ' stau', which could delay the journey by 2 hours , as it happened to us .

SAUBERES, nettes familiengeführtes Hotel
Reviewed By trascuDas Gebäude ist 2015 neu errichtet worden und so erstrahlt es natürlich in vollem Glanz. Die Zimmer sind kleiner als gewohnt, aber bieten trotzdem alles, was man benötigt. Auch bei einer Woche Skiurlaub mit extrem vielen und nassen Kleidungsstücken kommt man super zurecht. Im Keller befindet sich ein Skikeller mit Skischuhheizung. Herausragend sind: Lage für Mathon, die Sauberkeit und die Gastgeber. Das Foresta befindet sich direkt am Ortseingang zu Mathon, nur wenige Schritte von der Skibushaltestelle entfernt. Der Bus bringt Euch in FÜNF Minuten nach Ischgl zu den Bergbahnen. Daher eine tolle Alternative zu Ischgl selbst. Die nette Gastgebern, Bettina, reinigt alles umgehend nach Benutzung und ist sehr auf die Sauberkeit und Ordnung Ihres "Zuhauses" bedacht. Ich würde Sie liebevoll als "den Wirbelwind" bezeichnen :-). Sie ist immer für ein kleines Pläuschchen zu haben und das macht diese Unterkunft so besonders, denn eine so umsichtige, präsente und fleißige Gastgeberin habe ich in 20 Jahren Ischgl noch nicht erlebt. Das Frühstück ist überschaubar, aber absolut ausreichend für den Start in den Tag (gibt es übrigens von 7:30 - 9:30 Uhr). FAZIT: Uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen

Toppenställe i Mathon strax utanför Ischgl
Reviewed By IngvarWesterdahlMycket trevligt boende för den som vill sliippa det traditionella trätyngda boendet som annars är standard i Österrike. Vi bodde två vuxna med 16-årig dotter i en rymlig tvåa på nedre botten. Fullt utrustat kök o badrum med golvvärme och möjlighet till total mörkläggning samt två 20-tummare o wifi. Det ingår skidförvaring innomhus med plats för två par skidor inkl pjäxor i bottenstationen av liften Fimbabahn A3 mot Idalp, Vi kunde dock trycka in våra tre par. Barbara ligger längst upp på Winkelweg och det är en liten backe upp så skönt att slippa släpa på skidorna vilket våra kompisar i grannhuset fick göra. Vi besökte två av restaurangerna i Mathon, en i bottenav Winkelweg o en ut tillhöger på stora vägen. Båda var utmärkta, Det finns en lite handel i byn med de nödvändigaste sakerna och vi beställde nybakat bröd till varje morgon av chalet-ägarna. Bussarna blir ofta knökfulla vid bussstationen i Mathon så ett tips kan vara att åka åt motsatt håll en station för att ta bussen därifrån då djungelns lag gäller. Taxi kostar runt 15 € till Ischgl, tänk på att taxi inte får åka in i själva staden. Ett tips är att ta med ett grenuttag då kontakterna snabbt tar slut i lägenheten om alla har telefoner, paddor o dyl. Bastun är ok men vi såg ingen möjlighet att låsa den inifrån för en privat stund, möjligen missade vi det.

Perfect place to stay only a frew minute ride away from Ischgl
Reviewed By anja_gappMathon is only a few kilometres/maybe 6 minute drive away from Ischgl - the famous centre for après ski in winter. A bus stop is a 1 minute walk away from the house - skibus stops ehre. The owner is very friendly and you feel very welcome. The rooms are clean and modern with everythin there you need including a modern bath room and a safe. Breakfast has everything you wish for - cereals, fruits, cheese, sausage, eggs, various kinds of breads, juice, coffee, tea.... The price is very good for being so close to Ischgl and much better in comparison to staying directly in the centre.
