Modern in old location
Reviewed By tinyhunterThe hotel is a family run and owned hotel, directly at the water front. The rooms have been completely re-done in a modern style with charm and using the space perfectly. We had a 3 story floor room. The bath tub was directly under the roof above the bedroom. The stairs where a bit steep but it was all very comfortable and they are trying to be very ecological and save energy and water. You can use sups for free, a parking area for your bikes and from Langenargen you can do lost of bike tours. The owners are very friendly and helpfull. Not that cheap but worth the stay and we would stay here for sure again.

Reviewed By Georgiapeach18The Bodensee area was recommended by a German friend as a place to go while traveling by car from eastern France to Munich and then Zurich. The Bodensee area is so lovely and the small roads and bicycling so inviting. I booked this hotel as it is family run and was located in a smaller town. The place is immaculate, and inviting and the breakfast was very good and hearty. Just a shout out to Americans, that it is not air-conditioned, but we were there at a cool time in June, so no problem. I only wish they were totally smoke-free, as was hard to enjoy balcony one-time with adjacent smokers, but otherwise balcony was great with superb views. I would visit again and stay a week!!!

They cancelled just 4 days before planned arrival
Reviewed By 979jonasmWe should have been there in July 2021. Room booked and confirmed via booking.com. All good, we thought. By coincidence we found out 4 days before arrival that they didn’t have room for us anyways. Not a good experience. The hotel told us booking.com should have informed us. However, no information was given. No matter what, we had a booking with the hotel and they cancelled. Not easy to plan family vacation when that happens. They hoped we would come back another time. Well, I don’t think so.

The suites are a little overpriced for what they offer, they are rather small and the furniture is minimalistic, no bath tub, nevertheless the big balcony compensates for this. The staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast offers a good selection, the serve the best croissants I had in a very long time.

Reviewed By Bob xWe just stopped over to have come coffee and a beer about dusk. There are so many waiters, that we've been asked several times about our desire. The service was quick and again very friedly! So we could say nothing about their hotel-business = but it's more than worth to visit their bar!!

Reviewed By Tom HWe had a nice stay. The hotel is in a great location right on lake Konstance and in a great part of town. The whole area is gorgeous and very relaxing with great paths for cycling. The hotel itself is a famil run hotel with some very nice characteristics like old style real keys and a restaurant right on the water. The food was fantastic. The only reason I give this place a three is a general lack of interest by staff overall.

Reviewed By tandemjordiThe large romm with a prfect bathroom and shower will please everyone. The friendliness of the hosts is as we like it. The kitchen is full of varietys with lovely meals. We always look forward to have at the Dorfkrug a special Dinner. Every year we make a trip to this lovely place with our bike and take a brake at Langenargen because it is just the best.

Reviewed By Colin FAgree completely with James1London review except that our bill , in September, was 404 Euros for 4 nights ( but we met a couple who were paying more for a 'junior suite' so perhaps room cost varies, or perhaps wi-fi is now included). About 25 rooms - big enough to be a hotel but small enough to be family run and very attentive to guests. Our room was at rear, opposite owners house, and very quiet - others who were obviously late risers did not like early morning farm noise at front but we thought this unreasonable in such a quiet rural setting. Found on Internet and really pleased that there was nothing available in Langenargen itself as Oberdorf suited us. Appreciated parking, cleanliness, quality of unlimited breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Had four excellent dinners, averaging 55 euros for two people with 2 courses and drinks but not charge of 2 Euros80 for a glass of tap water - stick to wine. Web site failed to say that excellent English, and possibly other languages, spoken.

Reviewed By Tom DThe atmosphere is what you would expect for nice meal with an ambiance of fine dining and casual comfort hospitality. It is hidden on a at the end of the road and very close to the Bodensee or Lake Constance. It is well worth to go there for a quiet dinner with excellent food and very quick service. We only stayed for dinner so the quality of the hotel is not really known.

Es erwarten Sie behagliche Gästezimmer mit Du/WC und Farb-TV ,Safe, Fön, teilweise mit Balkon und Blick auf den Bodensee. W-lan ist im Hause verfügbar
very central and enjoyable stay
Reviewed By Ghibli31very central location but very quiet either; some rooms have a lovely balcony looking over the lake. The room we had was very bright clean and welcoming. The lady owner is very nice and kind. the breakfast was delicious, with a huge buffet choice very well presented in a delicious room (and includes croissants as well). the balance between price and services is proper. We would surely recommend it. There is not dedicated parking but you should easily find a free of charge place in Leuben Strasse (about 100 meters). No lift, but the staircase is short and easy. We did not try the restaurant.
