Almost the end of the World.
Reviewed By FALATKAA very pleasant place, family run guesthouse almost in the forest. Closed to Klagenfurt and Krumpendorf. Silent place with a lot of greens around. Pleasant room, very good and polite staff. Breakfast good, and always everything fresh. Home made food in the restaurant. Big garden, big pool, everybody is helpful. It was good to be there, almost like at home. Definitely recommend for the people, who want really relax.

Functional and Economical
Reviewed By FlipperItalyKanauf is a building of apartments to let, run by the Kanauf family. Frau and Herr Kanauf are a lovely elderly Austrian couple, friendly and very obliging, that even manage to make themselves understood to their non-German-speaking customers. Their son, Hannes, speaks both English and Italian and is who we dealt with mostly. The apartments are located a block from Lake Worther in the town of Krumpendorf, about 5 km from the city of Klagenfurt. This is a summer vacation area and doesn't really come to life until June. We stayed a week in apartment 3 on the top floor of the main building. It was functional, and a decent size. The apartment consists of a living room/dining room with a couch, satellite tv, coffee tables, shelves, and dining table for up to 6. The kitchen is furnished with the bare necessities including untensils and cooking and serving equipment. There is one bedroom with 2 twin beds pushed together and a bathroom with toilet, shower and sink. If needed, a door to an adjoining room can be unlocked, making it a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Bedrooms are spacious, but pillows flat (typical Austrian pillows) and bedsprings can be felt through the sagging mattresses. The family has bikes available to borrow and in the summer they provide free access to the ParkBad down the street for swimming in the lake. There is tons to do in the area from swimming and biking to playing in a large park nearby, mini-golf, MiniMund park, and the city of Klagenfurt. While the Kanauf apartments are by no means the lap of luxury, I appreciated the flexibility and availability of the Kanauf family, the location and the economy of our choice. By the way, payment is cash only in Euro.

Auf sympathische Art altmodisch
Reviewed By laurintoursWir waren eine kleine Gruppe von 16 Leuten, eher ältere Herrschaften und bei einer rundreise wurden wir da untergebracht. Alles war in Ordnung, die Zimmer eher klein, aber sauber, das Bad/ Dusche ebenso. Alles war ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber sauber und alles passte. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und großzügig. Großer Frühstücksraum mit Fenstern zum Garten. Der See ist 5 mInuten vom Haus. Die zwei Gastgeberinnen, 2 Schwestern, waren so nett und freundlich. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt, es war gemütlich und sehr sympathisch.

Interesting Hotel
Reviewed By orangegoldfishWe recently stayed at this hotel in Krumpendorf. The staff on reception were not particularly friendly and one was downright rude. The blond waitress/cleaner was however extremely friendly and polite. Our room was clean but small. The decor was interesting (see photos on website). The chlorine in the indoor pool was excessive, in my opinion. Breakfast was amazing. Lots to choose from. The hotel is about a 10 minute to the lake.

Hotel cancelled our booking without communication and now refuses to refund us !
Reviewed By Go17537619990We had to pay 100% upfront in 2020 when the hotel closed due to Covid . The owner assured us there will be a re-booking in 2021 . Again the hotel was closed and from then on Mr.Krassnig did not return our calls and cancelled our bookings . He won’t answer our many emails and even the Austrian local Tourismo couldn’t persuade him to refund . He has stolen our money and won’t communicate !!!!!!
