Amazing service and spotlessly clean hotel

We stayed here for a few nights and we were impressed by the friendliness of all the team we encountered. Especially on reception but also the bar cafe team. They were extremely polite and nothing was too much for them. The breakfast service in particular was sensational with a delicious fresh and tasty breakfast. With a wide range of breakfast options including cooked and continental. We will definitely stay here again and fully recommend Dijain and his team. Thankyou for a brilliant stay.

Altun Tabya Hotel

Charming and cozy atmosphere. Our place is close to restaurants, beaches, family-friendly activities, public transport and nightlife. You’ll love our family-run place because of the location, the people, and the ambiance. Our place is good for couples, adventurers, and business travelers. We also have Cyprus Village Museum in a house in the garden of the hotel. There are a lot of antiques there. It would be a pleasure for us to host you in our family run place Altun Tabya, my father opened in 1973. Since 2010 my home was closed, my family re-opened our hotel in July 2016 again, to keep that traditional home open for everybody. We are located in the heart of the Castle and all historical places are within walking distance. As the hotel has the entrance in one of our nice small streets here in Famagusta, you can enjoy your breakfast or evening drink in a very charming and cozy area. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) occupies the northern and eastern reaches of Cyprus, with scheduled flights from London, Manchester and other regional airports providing means of entry. If flying to Ercan Airport or Geçitkale Airport, North Cyprus’ two international landing points, passengers must transit briefly in Turkey. No visa is required for British or EU citizens wishing to visit or cross between the northern and southern parts of the country, meaning those wishing to fly into Larnaca and Paphos can easily commute to the north of the island in just over an hour. If you arrive by car- free parking space is available. Puplic Trasportation - Busses to Nicosia (Lefkoşa) and Kyrenia (Girne) are just outside the walled city, 300m away, around the corner. Once upon a time Famagusta was the most important port city on the island. The naturally deep harbour attracted ships, merchants and traders from all over the eastern Mediterranean and further. It was during this time that the region began to flourish with wealth, and the idea that wealth could be measured by the churches they built inspired these rich merchants to build a multitude of them. Famagusta came to be known as "the district of churches” – legend has it that at one time the area had a church for every day of the year. Today the area boasts some of the most impressive medieval ruins anywhere in the world. The contrasting Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque is fascinating for its gothic cathedral exterior as it was once a church, which has since been transformed into a mosque on the inside. A walk through the walled city offers wonderful insight the history of the area, like a crumbling postcard to the past. Salamis is a home to some fantastically preserved Roman ruins, including statues, standing columns, theatre and baths. But, of course, the area is as famous for its spectacular beaches as its rich history so there is really something for everyone. The Karpaz Peninsula is an area of unparalleled, natural beauty and must be seen.

Terrific small hotel....

.......and what a good experience we had. Just returned from a 2 night stay at this very friendly and comfortable hotel. Located within the city walls the hotel is a perfect location for exploring this fascinating city. We enjoyed the laid back, but efficient, hospitality of the owners and staff, very friendly and helpful. Proud of the history of their small hotel (and rightly so). All of the places of interest are walkable. If we want to stay in Famagusta in the future we would choose this hotel.

Great place to stay in the old city

Perfect location in the old walled town, lovely large room which was spotlessly clean. I think the owner has been on an interior design course. The owner was very friendly, he even gave us a lift to the border so we could retrieve our hire car. Don't miss this, its very special.

Perfect hotel

Reviewed By Adilla I

My partner and I stayed here in September and I cannot recommend it highly enough, its modern, amazing location and extremely clean, which is the most important aspect for us. The staff are really friendly and the gentleman at the reception was so helpful, he knew where to go and where not to go and was always happy to help. Its great that there is a tea in the room and the bathroom was a good size, again very clean and modern. Breakfast was the same every day, which is my only issue as they could have changed 1 or 2 items a day so its not the same, but the food itself was of good quality and fresh. The location is great for all sorts of places either to walk or by car and the supermarket around the corner is really handy for water and snacks. We will definitely be back here without a doubt. Thank you for your hospitality.

4 of us stayed in May 2022. The Hotel being a boutique set up was absolutely fantastic. The price, the room and the service is second to none, brilliant. We had great service and a great time with the staff. We were HB and the food was very varied and tasty....could not fault it. The view from our room was out to sea over looking the reef and up the coast of Verosha....awsome! Only down side it is away from the main town and bars and restaurants. Thanks to all the staff.....

Such a warm welcome from Erton. The rooms are amazing. Large and done to a high finish. The views of the local attractions are amazing. The gardens are like a oasis. The food was delicious and so many choices. Loved the homemade jams and cakes. Very close to many attractions such as Salamis Karpaz and Varosha. We flew into Larnaca, got a taxi to Nicosia crossed the border, picked up a high car. No problem. Covid passes for both north and south needed.

The hotel is located in the city a short walk from the main road through the city. Very modern with very clean rooms. The superior room has a lot of space and powerful air-conditioner installed. The staff is also very friendly. The a la carte menu was excellent. The hotel has a buffet in the evening but you can request for the menu and order separately. It has good facilities including a spa, a pool and a gym. You get a lot for the money you pay, excellent value. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are in Famagusta.

First class accommodation. Beautiful indoor pool although a little cool. Very close to centre of Famagusta. Highly recommended. Price good too. Had to wear a mask however while collecting food for breakfast. Seemed totally pointless really considering arrived on o plane full of people crammed together with no masks.
