Worn-out Hotel
Reviewed By Y4049QWcarlossEver since Barceló bought this hotel, things have been going down hill from there. Seems like the change really did come at a bad time, considering covid and all. My wife and I stayed here in April and we noticed that they have started to assign only the bottom floors. They also only assign the the rooms that face the city and leave out the rooms with volcano view. Maybe they only give them out to customers who don't book with discounts, which would explain why we had such a lack of attention to detail in our stay. The room was not nice, the minibar was empty (although we did have the fridge connected in the room). They used to offer courtesy drinks at stikers bar and now they stopped doing so. The hotel looks worn-out, carpets, towels and linnen. My towel was so thin that felt like it was going to get torn. Cuttlery at the restaurant was aweful too. Overall I didn't enjoy the feeling I got while staying here since I couldn't help comparing it with the "hotel" I've been visitin for over 5 years now. I recommend management to do something about it asap.

Nice hotel, no longer has a big pool
Reviewed By ASwendWe stayed four nights for a wedding at the hotel. We really enjoyed the property and the staff was very nice. Food was excellent and service so nice. There is a nice fitness center with good equipment. Be aware, the large swimming pool you see in many review photos, no longer exists. It has been remodeled to an open patio/courtyard. The current pool is really quiet small,. This wasn’t a big deal for us but if the pool photos are a big draw for you, take note! We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again regardless if we were going to a wedding there.

Lack of Quality
Reviewed By Petter BI arrived early evening on an international flight. Prior to arrival, I was informed that they offered a complimentary airport shuttle - the hotel is located only a few minutes away. However, no information at the airport arrival - I looked for the shuttle, but did not see any. Next, I called the hotel to ask/request - they then informed me that the shuttle could pick me up in 30 minutes. Tired from the flight, I took a taxi-cab. This was about 10 USD - iikely worth it when another 30 minutes was the alternative. Check-in was slow. The hotel also advertised free WIFI, however this turned out to be difficult for a MacBook Air. The reception finally told me that I needed to provide them with the MAC ADDRESS, they would then communicate this to their internet provider, which in turn would enable wifi access. YES - it worked after 2 hours, I have never experienced anything similar. Otherwise, the hotel served its purpose, quite expensive - I would recommend looking for any other nearby alternative.

Reviewed By DWD222The hotel is centrally located right near the US Embassy. The service was excellent and the staff was bilingual in English and Spanish, for the most part. The hotel was clean and neat. I'll definitely be staying there again!

Reviewed By TravelChoseAThe staff was very friendly. I felt very safe. However, I did find the rooms to be quite outdated. The breakfast was pretty good. The pool was beautiful but had quite a lot of dead insects in it, so I could not use it. The landscape is up to par and clean. It is within walking distance of a few shopping and eateries.

Reviewed By MalienteThis is my second visit with a mix of good and bad. Hence the 3 star rating. The premises is well situated in a beautiful environment and location. Great rooms and service overall. Out of the way, remote, must have a car to get to or you will pay a good buck to reach. Lot's of nature, food OK but expensive. Breakfast included. They even charge you for ice and water, hence in my opinion money hungry. They don't allow you to bring your own beer or spirits. Expensive bar on site, same as restaurant. I got in my car and went local for food and drinks. Wi-Fi weak and spotty. Hotel rate cheaper if you deal directly with them. NOT an online third party like Travelocity. They charged 20% commission. They act as if they are going broke if they give you, ice and water. I will NOT be returning to this hotel. Lots of competition is close by.

Reviewed By leoguamStayed here on a generous cash rate as a Titanium member. Easily a 5 star property if it weren't for issues with running water! The location in upscale Santa Tecla is great, the cash prices are competitive, and the hardware is new. The other redeeming experience was the warm and exceptional service from Magdalena during check-in and throughout my entire stay. I also want to acknowledge the property for upgrading me from the base room to arguably their best room, a corner studio suite at the top floor. If only all Marriott properties were as equally welcoming. I never had a problem showering in the morning. However, I started noticing water issues when the toilet wouldn't refill at night on my second and third night. On my fourth and final night, I had an early morning departure and again water wasn't restored. I went down to the lobby and the poor FD associate tried his best but alas he's no plumber/engineer. After nearly an hour of waiting, I went in desperation to the next door Courtyard in total sleepwear to pay for a shower. Thankfully, the Courtyard called the Fairfield who were finally (but temporarily) able to restore water. Frankly, had it not been my last night, I would have switched to the Courtyard after that incident. The property exceeded expectations only to undo and disappoint. I didn't receive a post stay survey after check-out which is also frustrating.

Hotel Miraflores is located at the east coast of El Salvador. Just in front of the ocean, with a great view. The hotel has 5 rooms, a restaurant, pool, showers, sundeck, massages, transportation, parking and we offer all kind of tours. Our room rate starts at $65. Reviewed By Jeremy HFirst off the hospitality was amazing and kind. The food was great at every meal. The rooms are rooms you hardly spend time in so people complaining of internet and no hot water? Maybe vacation isn’t your thing! Short walk to town and the best part is the veranda with hammocks, pool, and absolutely gorgeous views!! The walk to the beach is a mere 189 steps and it is hardly crowded. A very local vibe which is what our family always looks for. We could have stayed in our own resort town back in the states if we wanted Americanized vacation. A must stay while you are in El Salvador.
