A unique resort directly on Lake Faak. Spring with awakening nature, flowering meadows and the first jump into the cool lake. Summer with the lake at its centre. Autumn with its colourful splendour, gymnastics and yoga on the sun terrace. Winter far from the ski slopes, in the midst of dormant nature. Every season has its own special facets here. Always present: the Karnerhof cuisine, the usual excellent service and the charming border triangle of Carinthia - Italy - Slovenia.

Reviewed By BrookeMoralesThe Karnerhof is a lovely family run hotel right at the Faaker See. A beautiful, turquoise lake with a pleasant temperature, ideal for swimming. The modern hotel features clean, comfortable rooms, great beds and nice bathrooms. There is an indoor and outdoor restaurant, a bar, some evening evening entertainment (occasionally) a great and spacious indoor pool, jacuzzi and wellness area. Treatments are also available, massages at the beach and some beauty treatments upstairs in the beauty salon, although there was not much to chose from and the beauty salon did not seem to be fully open yet. Activities are plentiful, walking, hiking etc...nearby, row boats and stand up boards at the beach, 2 outdoor pools, hiring of the electric boat, table tennis, playground, biking and tennis next to the hotel. You will not go hungry here, the breakfast buffet it great, cold and hot options, you can order lunch at the restaurant or a snack at the beach bar or wait for the daily cake & coffee plus savoury dishes every day from 4pm. The evening meal is also first class, salad buffet, a la cart, cheese buffet,... Fine foods accompanied by an extensive wine list. Staff is very nice and efficient, special thanks to our lovely waiter Florian who took care of us every evening. The hotel is pricy enough but offers a lot. My only complaint is the occasional unfriendly personnel. The bar person in the evening is definitely under stress, something that translates to the customers and one receptionist lady needs to remember that this is an expensive 4 star hotel, even if the teenagers repeatedly locked themselves out of their room. No issue at all that something is said to them but please not in such a tone, even if you are annoyed. Everyone else was just wonderful! Great stay.

Reviewed By Lucie PThe hotel is situated in a lovely scenery and we really enjoyed our hike around the lake. Our budget room was facing the back yard but two teraces with the stunning views of the lake are freely available to everyone. The staff were polite, pleasant and helpful, breakfast was wonderful and varied. The atmosphere of the beautifully appointed accommodation was extremely welcoming.

Perfect relaxing family destination
Reviewed By Jessica HWe holidayed in these apartments with our 3 year old and 6 year old and cannot recommend it highly enough. Our apartment had the most magnificent view of the turquoise lake and was clean and very well equipped with plenty of space for the four of us and even a little balcony. The apartments themselves thought of everything from providing dishwasher tablets and letting you do your washing to a wine fridge in the communal area with local wines and an honesty box to pay and a magnificent breakfast basket you can order with local produce if you run out of time to get to the shops. Although it was off season we swam in the lake everyday (at our son’s insistence) and we found lots of family friendly walks, climbing and more to do as well as some lovely family friendly pubs and restaurants. I highly recommend a stay here, we couldn’t fault the friendly owners and immaculate accommodation and will definitely be back!

Reviewed By 2015josefinaWe stayed at the hotel for a family get together end of April - beginning of May and I just cannot praise the hotel enough. The rooms are immaculate - nothing is left to be desired. Everything is where it is meant to be - someone has actually thought about where things should be in a room and they are all individually designed and spacious with all mod cons you may look for. All overlook the beautiful Faaker See with a private lawned area just by its' shore with your own sun loungers. The furnishings are first quality and the beds are so comfortable you really do not want to get up in the morning . I have not slept this well and this much in a long time. The large balconies which every room has have day beds and also sort of 'net-curtains' should you wish to be shielded from direct sunlight when sitting outside. The food was out of this world: dinner was a four course menu with a lot of local produce and prepared with so much love and attention it was just a joy to eat. Breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. Fresh eggs in the morning, a variety of delicious breads, homemade muesli as well as fruit, cheeses and cold cuts from the region along with juices and home made spreads and jams. An absolute delight. The owners could not have made us feel more comfortable. We were a party of 15 and I would not call us the quietest guests in the world. They were so friendly it was just a joy to be there: everyone felt so well looked after and happy. We will try to go back for more as I do not think you would ever get enough of the hospitality and friendliness along with a very stylish hotel and stunning views as well as superb food. Thank you very much for having us it was an utmost pleasure - I wish I could have stayed longer.

Reviewed By GlynnFLovely apartment with well equipped kitchen, separate roomy bedroom(and with a large, comfortable bed and reading lights), plus a little table & chairs on the outside deck so we could drink wine overlookiing the lake. Our host was very helpful and friendly. We had driven up and down the esplanade looking for an apartment, and were about to leave when we saw this street - once in, we saw the great parking area and the lovely apartment complex and gardens, and thought, "this is the one!". Would definitely stay there again.

Reviewed By Peter GA very spacious, cozy, clean, nicely decorated homely apartment. Owners are really nice and helpful people. We were there in spring time and the view from the balconies was really wonderful. I can recommend it to people who are looking for quiet, clean, nice apartment in nature. It was a little bit hard to find it in the night, however if you have good GPS it's not problem.

Reviewed By Hubert_SunshineDas private 3-Sterne-Gästehaus Maier liegt nur 2 Gehminuten vom Faaker See entfernt. Buchbar sind ein Einzel- und ein Doppelzimmer mit Frühstück sowie zwei Appartements. Das Privathaus der Fam. Maier liegt in Sichtweite nur ca. 600 m vom Faaker See entfernt in Hanglage. Die Zufahrt von der Hauptstraße ist ein wenig steil. Parkplätze befinden sich direkt vor dem Wohnhaus. Der kleine gepflegte Garten bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf den Faaker See. Ein Ort zum Ausruhen und relaxen. Ca. 300 m entfernt ist ein großer BILLA-Supermarkt. Restaurants befinden sich ebenfalls in der Nähe. Das gebuchte Einzelzimmer liegt im zweiten Stock und ist über Treppen erreichbar. Ein separater Eingang für die Gäste ist vorhanden. Erreichbar über einen kleinen steilen Weg der neben dem Haus verläuft. Das Einzelzimmer ist mit TV ausgestattet. Das kleine Bad hat eine Duschkabine, Waschbecken, WC und Fön. Hygieneartikel sind keine vorhanden. Für eine ausreichende WLAN-Geschwindigkeit ist das Zimmer im zweiten Stock jedoch zu weit vom Router entfernt. Es empfiehlt sich daher die Internetaktivität auf die Nähe des Frühstücksraumes zu konzentrieren. Der Check-In verlief problemlos und schnell. Frau Maier ist überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Der Service beim Frühstück sehr gut. Man kann das Gästehaus mit Frühstück buchen. Die Auswahl ist ausreichend und sehr gut. Fr. Maier ist sehr bemüht, selbst für ein Frühstücksei muss man nicht nachfragen; es wird selbst angeboten Ein in die Jahre gekommener Ergometer steht im Bad. Ich habe ihn jedoch nur als Ablage für verschwitzte Motorradkleidung benützt, da leider kein Kleiderhaken im Zimmer vorhanden war
