Great Location and Facilities

Stayed with a group of friends touring the WW1 battlefields. The hotel is right in the centre of town and very easy walking to the town square and many bars and restaurants. Rooms are modern and airy but i had a strange arrangements of three single beds, shower worked well and had a good rest. Only minor point is that the hotel is not manned 24/7 although security of access was through room keys.

We stayed in this lovely house only for a night on our way to The Netherlands (all the way from Spain) but we have already decided that we need to discover Belgium a little bit more and we will be staying at Renate’s house. She really takes good care of all her guests. The apartment was absolutely clean, tidy and modern. Tbh, breakfast at ‘De Groote waere’ was delicious!! Just baked bread from the bakery. We were welcomed even a bit earlier than the check in time was. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. i would totally recommend it!

A Very Nice B&B

Reviewed By Tavistockchrisp

We feel lucky to have found this place on the web, we hope to return. The owners welcomed us with a beer and coffee, a nice touch we able to introduce ourselves and relax with the owners. The house and bedroom are very nice, we had a separate shower/bath room. We had a pleasant sleep followed by a very good breakfast, fried ham and eggs, followed by cheese and bread washed down with fruit juice, tea and coffee. The road beside the house has been widened and marked for on street parking, and there is off street parking as well. The house is easy to find as it’s on a main road into Dikmuide, it's also very close to the museums of the Ijzer Tower and Dodengang (trenches) The town centre (Grote Markt) is a 20 minute walk, a very Picturesque Overall, friendly a great place to stay, we hope to return. We have no hesitation in fully recommending this place.

Clean Modern Decor, Unusual Breakfast Setup

Reviewed By Mick W

I stayed here for one night last week while travelling with a friend. We originally requested a twin room but were given a double, presumably through lack of available twins. The room was very clean and looked to be recently decorated. All the furnishings were upto a very high standard and the room had a modern shower fitted (no bath). We mainly were using the hotel as somewhere to sleep overnight as we were actually visiting nearby Ypres, however the location to Diksmuide would be good if you needed to visit this place. Parking is offsite just over the road but there were plenty of spaces available for us. The setup of Breakfast in the Feestzaal de Kroon is unlike anything else I have encountered before. There is a small table in the room with two stools at it with some cereal, butter, jam, and cutlery etc. There is also a small fridge in the room with a selection of items, some of which are free (milk and water etc) some of which are chargeable such as alcohol. You inform the owners what time you would like breakfast and they drop off some fresh bread and pastries outside your room in the morning and you collect it and have breakfast in the room. Not necessarily a bad experience, just something that we were not used to.
