Tired old hotel that’s overpriced
Reviewed By avcapobiSecond (or third) time I’ve stayed here over the years. Since then it’s only gotten older and more run down. If it weren’t for the location I wouldn’t be here now. Old rooms, no decoration, no glasses for water, only one roll of toilet paper, AC doesn’t work until full summertime, water leaks open the riling and slow drains, the first room stank so bad I refused to go in. Reservations on the phone were a waste of time, they totally screwed up the basics like how many nights and adjoining rooms. Parking is two blocks away, but free.

Good but still some refining needed
Reviewed By Clare JWe enjoyed staying here, a 1 night stopover on the way to Santiago, and world stay again if in the area. Room great, clean, good air con, good shower and a nice touch with a free welcome drink. Breakfast adequate and nice big car park. Points we felt a bit let down on were, a mess up with our keycard which they said they corrected but the new card wouldn’t work in the lift repeatedly and we were unnecessarily being asked to use the staff lift and then still notable to enter our room meaning we had to go back to reception etc - no real apology. We would have forgiven, these things happen, but then when requesting milk for our tea/coffee (machine in room) we were told we had to pay, and also we couldn’t take it upstairs ourselves, we had to wait for it to be delivered. This seemed inefficient and penny pinching. Breakfast service also a bit clunky with having to point at buffet rather than helping ourselves or ordering from table. Queues built up. Covid is reason but staff put their hands all over glasses, cutlery and food they served anyway ….

On the ground floor you can find the reception and underground there is parking space if you are coming to visit by car.On the top floor there is a terrace available for the use of guests. The Hotel is within a short walk distance to different sites like the city's main plaza and market, main monuments like the Cathedral, Escuela Mexico and Claudio Arrau Museum, shops and restaurants, train and bus station.

Reviewed By Denise HThis is an average hotel that was ok for a one-night stay. We were in Room 7, which was fairly small, but clean and bed was very comfortable. A continental breakfast is delivered the evening before and was a nice selection of bread, yoghurt, cheese, ham and juice - there's a toaster in the room and a fridge to store the food overnight. Location is good, a 5 minute walk to the town centre for bars, restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly and helpful. The negatives for us were - reception didn't appear to be expecting us, despite showing our confirmation, and it took some time to check-in (struggled with language barrier) and the room was not well sound-proofed - we could hear talking in neighbouring rooms and noise in the corridor until late at night.

Simple and clean hotel with friendly and pleasant staff; nice buffet meals with healthy salad options and yummy cakes; the hot springs pool is great after a day on the mountain; and it's a short walk (or ski/board) to the base chairlifts. No wifi in our room, only in common areas. Knowing a bit of Spanish would be helpful for would be travelers. I'd recommend and would stay here again.

Dont stay herr if you have problems with stairs!
Reviewed By avcapobiOk hotel but definitely NOT the place if you can't carry your suitcases up and down the stairs. The only elevator us really slow and only gets to the lobby. I was here with senior citizens and they could barely get up and down the long staircase to the rooms. The bathroom is also a dangerous step up. Pretty expensive for what you get. I'm not coming back.

Warm, comfortable, friendly and well located
Reviewed By Adrian RWe stayed in the Las Trancas area for around ten days. The first five we spent at Cabanas Los Hualles in the lodge which has large hotel style rooms. The cabanas are more for families that need more space. The lodge itself is at the rear of the property, away from the main road and is very quiet and spacious with a large lounge downstairs with a TV and wifi throughout. Being on the main road is a huge advantage, see comment later. Breakfast was good with fruit, yoghurt, bread rolls, cereals and made to order eggs and coffee, staff always friendly and helpful. Really appreciated the genuinely helpful nature of Francisco who spoke English and helped us out many times. Also Sergio who rented us some snow chains and saved us from the confusion up the road re chains - be advised, only the Carabineros can tell you to fit chains, don't worry, they will - otherwise drive past all the other jokers trying to fit chains to your car in the bright sunshine. Nevados de Chillan ski resort car park is about 15-20 minutes up the sealed road from Las Hualles - far easier access than many other places when not staying on the mountain. Beware the backstreets in Las Trancas - safe but sometimes like creek beds of boulders and volcanic ash, don't be thinking you'll be driving your rental sedan up to more distant accommodation. In summary - we were very happy, the staff are genuinely helpful and friendly, room was comfortable and warm, shower hot. Highly recommend Oliva's restaurant just up the street for dinner. We will definitely keep Las Hualles at the absolute top of the list for our next trip. Many thanks

Reviewed By rcveithEnjoyed our stay here. Very nice decor in the room and very clean, quiet and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Free parking on site. Convenient to City center and not far from Route 5. The hotel has a restaurant that is good which is convenient for late arriving travelers.

Reviewed By Phil CBroke our trip overnight here. Room was a bit soulless but OK, free parking definitely a bonus. Saturday night in central Chillán was dead- just takeaways and a cash only place. But the food in the hotel was quite good and ‘did the job’

Nice, traditional hotel
Reviewed By escaperealitywowThis is a family run hotel and is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Rooms are furnished in a traditional style but offer comfort and space. There's a good choice of TV channels. Breakfast is fine. Some of the staff only speak Spanish but the owner has good English. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's very close to the train station if you're coming from Santiago and a short enough walk to the main bus station. A few blocks walk and you're at the main square and the nearby streets of shops and restaurants. It's a pleasant town with a good market.
