Breda liked her breakfast

We didn’t stay at the hotel but stopped at the adjoining cafe for our breakfast while passing through Carrick on Shannon. A tasty, hearty, wholesome Irish breakfast that set us up for the day with good quality local produce. The staff were super friendly and would definitely recommend!

Leitrim Marina Hotel

Sitting along the banks of the Shannon-Erne Waterway, the Leitrim Marina Hotel is a peaceful haven, less than two hours from Dublin. With a large outdoor deck leading onto the Marina, and fully glass fronted bar and restaurant to make the most of the commanding views, this is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy great locally inspired cuisine, good Bewley's Tea & Coffee or even a cocktail between exploring the local attractions such as Arigna Mining Experience or Lough Key Forest Park.

Great team. Enjoyed my stay

I have to say I was a little taken aback when I arrived at the hotel as it seemed a little tired. But after a long day and drive not an issue for me. So why five stars from me. Well it’s about the experience isn’t it. So checked in and from the moment I got the big key it was a great experience. It’s the fantastic staff at the Leitrim Marina that truly make the experience. The lady at reception was just fun and you would just want to be there. The guy in restaurant couldn’t be more helpful in his recommendations and service. The receptionist in the morning was again genuinely happy and helpful and same for Carol who did breakfast. So yes my experience was five star. Great food in restaurant and really good breakfast. Bit of a gem beyond the initial impression. As they say. Never judge a book by its cover. Friendly, spotlessly and quirky relaxing. Definitely stay again

Nice place to stay.

I stayed one night mid week recently. I arrived late, about 10pm but had phoned ahead to say I would be late , no problem. I had a nice small room with a very comfy bed. My only complaint would be the road noise in that particular room as it was at the front of the house and faced the Main road which was noisy all night. I had to keep the window open as it was very warm. Breakfast was fine. However my idea of a full Irish breakfast does not include beans!! everything else was fine. Good value at €55 . I would stay there again if in the area as it is close to town and the hosts were very welcoming. One other thing, no flowers is much better than plastic flowers.

The Courtyard Apartments

Only seems good

Reviewed By 184aidanw

There's a 200 odd quid deposit that they don't tell you about until your at the front desk, which is a disgrace as they hold your room for ransom at the last minute rather than tell you through the booking process. The staff, the very few I seen looked to be miserable in their jobs. The bullying security staff are a joke at the bar, the apartments, the disco downstairs. Would not visit again and when I contacted courtyard apartments to explain... They did not seem to care. Take your money elsewhere

Very good price, set in a lovely village. Easy to find. Several food options a couple of minutes walk, pub or shop. No breakfast,no living room, but we knew that as description was precise and honest. I asked for plates and bowls for breakfast and got them no problem. Maureen a lovely host, there to help. Playground in the village. The Barge has a large lawn , so you can have a drink while kids play. Marina Hotel nice setting too. Bike rental and cycle route 2 min walk. Lough Key Forest Park a short drive away. Beds comfy. Good value break, would recommend.

One of the best B&Bs in Ireland

Reviewed By Janet B

From the moment we arrived we loved everything about Hartley House. Kate is a wonderful host, extremely knowledgeable & so friendly; she honestly could not have done more for us. The house itself is beautiful and it feels like you're staying in a manor house. Our room was cozy and the bed was super comfy. We spent some time in the sitting room in the evening in front of the lovely log fire drinking wine and chatting. We could have stayed there all night! We are both vegetarian so usually expect scrambled eggs in B&Bs (which is perfectly fine) but Kate made us poached eggs with spinach and avocado! We felt so special! Everything was wonderful and I would advise anyone visiting this part of the country to stay here - you will NOT regret it! We will definitely be back - looking forward to it already.
