Good size pool and nice warm hot tub. Tea and coffee in the lobby was wonderful. One staff member was very thoughtful. Other staff were not welcoming but one can be quite self-sufficient without their help.

Had the best stay there, not only were the rooms nice but they were also very clean. The staff was A-1, very friendly and extremely helpful… which helped may our 2 night stay very pleasant. The price was also more then competitive compared to other hotels in town especially for it being a long weekend, made it so that we could concentrate on the wedding we were there for without worrying about our accommodations. Easily 5 stars all the way, I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for nice and affordable accommodations.

Not the best

We were not expecting much due to the price considering the area, however it was still below expectations. The newer pictures are a bit deceiving. Our room it looked like they attempted to renovate it but were not complete yet. There were outlet plate covers missing. There was no clock in the room. The phone was placed very oddly with wires hanging. There was a hole in the ceiling of the shower with toilet paper or kleenex stuffed in the hole. The sliding barn door for the bathroom had no handle on the inside making it difficult to open from the inside - literally had to use the hook screwed into the door to open it. The room had vinyl floors which although seem more sanitary to hotel carpet, they were not clean with debris that stuck to feet and socks. The floors were also cold and slippers would've been nice. The lady checking us in was very nice and provided a lot of information about the area and best places to check out for restaurants which was appreciated!

Update to prior review about Room 26 that had a mouse

Reviewed By st8one

I registered a complaint with Wyndham Customer Service who told me it could be up to six weeks before they replied. After six weeks, I reached out again. They told me that I would need to resolve my issue with the management of the hotel and that they could not help me. The manager had already lied to me and told me he couldn't get in touch with the owner when he actually was the owner! I am very disappointed with Wyndham and will not be staying in any of their hotels in the future including Days Inn, Super 8, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, because Wyndham provides less than adequate customer support and service.

Great value

Reviewed By LanD108

This is a no-frills 3-star accommodation. It's very affordable, and considering the location, really good value. Don't go in expecting a modern, downtown hotel. It's great for what you need, which is a clean accommodation convenient to all the things you want to do in Muskoka, with free parking on site. The service was very friendly and helpful. The decor and furnishings are definitely dated and worn, but perfectly fine and clean. The room was spacious and the microwave is very useful. One thing I would suggest is adding electric kettles to the room, or perhaps a simple coffee maker.

Decent Stay For A Night

Reviewed By Clint C

Stayed for one night here because I liked their no fees for pets offer as well as the rate for a single bed room. The host was very friendly and check in was fast. For a motel, I was quite surprised how clean the room was and did not expect amenities like fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. Parking was right outside which was very convenient too. The only thing I had a problem with was the heater which was quite loud. Also no matter how I set it, the unit came on and automatically turned off and back on again at intervals. This was actually more disruptive than a constant sound which I would have preferred even if it was louder than I would have liked. As a result, it took me longer to fall asleep than usual. But other than that, this was a decent place to stay for a quick night, especially with a pet.

High Falls Bay is a uniquely amazing place to stay at, but it may not be fun for everyone (and that's probably why you see some one stars here). It is fair to say it is very different from other camping areas, especially provential ones. It offers way more than a typical campground -- with a diverse set of options to stay at (e.g., beachfront and wilderness campsites, cottages), a waterpartk, and a pretty nice waterfall. There are rules, however, that Brian (owner and manager of the area) asks you to follow. The rules are mostly about garbage disposal and and not damaging the area, which make a lot of sense. If you follow these rules, you will have the best time and create a wonderful memory for yourself and your family/friends. If you break things and/or try to be stubborn about your misdoing, Brian may charge you extra (which he warns you when you sign up for your stay). I have been to this place 6 times and have been charged on my 5th visit - and that totally made sense to me. I will definitely stay at this place at least once every Summer.
