Good stay but…

Reviewed By Geoff M

Very good welcome and exceptionally clean hotel. Comfortable room good parking and excellent location to walk in to Bourton. The breakfast was very good, with choice. During our stay the fire alarm was activated at 07:15 am all guests left the building. The hotel was unmanned and guests were unsure what to do, another guest rang the owners who advised we could go back inside the building as it was a false alarm. We feel this procedure is not correct as nobody in authority had inspected the building! At breakfast we were told it was due to someone smoking in their room! The whole incident appeared to be taken very lightly. We feel the fire alarm safety procedure should be reviewed

Really enjoyable 2 night stay. Small boutique hotel. Friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Room comfy, clean and of a good standard (room 10). Loved the tipi for a drink in the grounds at the back of the hotel. Would stay again.

Lovely place for a few nights stay

Reviewed By 5522Rebecca5522

Had a lovely 2 night stay here in the charming room, very nice open room with comfy bed and cute rubber duck as a little extra touch. Breakfast each morning was very tasty and enjoyable. We had dinner in the Italian restaurant our first night and enjoyed it very much, I would’ve liked to have ate there again if we hadn’t had booked another restaurant already for the second night. Staff left a birthday card and little bottle of Prosecco in the room for my partner as when I booked I stated it was for a birthday so that was a nice touch on their behalf. Only little nag we had was that being in a front room we were awoken both mornings by either a beer barrel delivery for the pub next door or the recycling men collecting empty glass from near by businesses. Staff were very friendly and welcoming towards us. The location is very central and right on the river front over one of the little bridges. Overall a lovely stay and we have intentions to return.

Clean, bright room with a comfy bed and a super shower ! massive bathroom. Fantastic breakfast with plenty of choice, cooked fresh whilst we chatted with host. Lesley is very friendly, laid back and enjoyable to chat with. Gave us some ideas on places to visit. Central location to Bourton. Such good value for money and even little extras in the room. Would definitely visit again if in the area, highly recommended. Thank you

Old Bank Rooms

Luxury deluxe Super-king suites in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. The grade two listed former bank is perhaps one of the most prominent properties on the High Street, perfectly located for what the village and the surrounding Cotswolds has to offer. Old Bank Rooms is quite literally a stones throw from the river Windrush. Positioned prominently in the centre of the high street, we are well located to access all the atractions and ameneties that this delightful village has to offer. Cafes, restaurants and delightful walks are all on the doorstep. Our Deluxe Suites have a rolltop baths and separate shower and all the suites (except one) have breathtaing river views. The suite without the river view however doesn't fall short - it is the largest and has a two person bathtub. For larger families, we have a two bedroom suite (both with super king size beds). All five deluxe suites have luxurious super king size beds. Our delightful double suite still packs a punch, with breathtaking views and a double bed. We use only the finest luxury bed linen, with non allergy, "feels like" down toppers, pillows and duvet for the perfect night sleep. All breakfasts are included and are served in the suite at your chosen time. All suites have a coffee machine and tea making facilities. Old Bank Rooms has free superfast WIFI available in all suites as well as Sony Bravia flat screen television, with built in streaming. There is a restaurant situated on the ground floor of the hotel. We operate contact-less check in/check out and have 24/7 manager contact should you require any. A very warm welcome awaits.

Old Bank Rooms

We stayed in the Old Bank Rooms (Bourton-on-the-Water). The room given was named YEN. We paid £120 per night, which was well overpriced. The room is embarrassingly small, and as for the bathroom it was laughable. Breakfast was nice. You have to eat your meals in the room, therefore on the bed, as there is NO room for a table and chairs. Surely, the chip shop restaurant below would be ideal for dining?? Overall, overpriced. £80 would be fair for this minuscule room. There is no reception, everything is automated.

Beautiful stay in Bourton on the water.

Reviewed By Lizzie K

Don’t normally write reviews so quick into a trip but this place is just beautiful. The rooms are stunning, the decor is cosy and modern, the views are stunning over the river. Everyone is so friendly. Hardly any noise so easy to sleep right through, which is something I usually struggle with. Breakfast was lovely just enough portion size. Tasted wonderful. We also took a walk around the miniature Cotswold village … that was amazing. Very well organised and set up very lifelike. Unfortunately we had to leave the evening before we was due to check out, due to my partner being unwell and even then the staff were so helpful and on hand for anything we needed. I really couldn’t fault anything about this place and we will be back in the future but this time for a longer period to give us time to sightsee and relax also.

Sunny Nest / Bourton on the Water: a lovely B&B with great price & quality balance

Reviewed By Deniz K

We stayed at Sunny Nest as a family of 3 (with my 11 years old son) during the Jubilee holiday at Bourton on the Water / Cotswold. It’s one of the special places with great price vs quality balance. The exterior of the building may not impress you very much at the arrival but inside is nicely decorated; rooms are clean and big enough with a small seperate changing room, the bathroom towels, soap and everything is clean and nicely placed. The breakfasts are really tasty with a quite good choice option for a B&B. The facility has got fit for purpose details such as spare umbrellas to use during your stay or torches for eachroom at the entrance porch just in case needed. There is a coffee machine in the rooms to be accompanied with nice on the house cookies and chocolate??? There is also a small fridge which is quite handy in the room. The location is good and convenient. The owners are very friendly thanks to their valuable hospitality and we look forward to staying here again in our next Cotswold visit and recommending this place to our friends. Thank you.

Old Manse Hotel

The Old Manse is a delightful English country inn overlooking the river Windrush, which flows gently through the centre of this picture-postcard Cotswold village. You can enjoy exploring this historic area of outstanding natural beauty with a stroll around the quaint little village of Bourton or simply curl up in front of a roaring log fire. Our rooms are all en-suite, where their size and layout do reflect the historic nature of our building, great for short stays and as a base to explore this beautiful location. Some of our rooms are located in the Old Manse Cottage, a short distance from the main building, but equally full of quirky features. A great selection of food and drink is available from our restaurant and bar. Guests should be aware that our car park is limited, however our team are always willing to assist guests with luggage and finding local alternate parking facilities.

Disgraceful treatment

Sat ouside wher ethere were tables set to eat. Sat down ready. Eventually went to bar to order food. Told that no external food will be served as it might rian (it never did). Teh waitress had taken away the food service items but not actuially told anyone that no longer serving food outside. You coudl see it was busy and they were short staffed. This was a clear excuse to ease the staff shortage problem to sut the duty manager who was rude and abnoxious. Give this place a wide berth

Harrington House

Dating originally from the Tudor period, and of considerable historic interest, Harrington House mirrors the mellow architectural style of the Cotswolds. With an enviable location in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, and surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, it's not surprising that many of our guests return year after year.

Group walking holiday

The Sussex Sunday Walkers stayed at Harrington House for a long weekend in May 2022. We had a fantastic holiday, Julija, Richard and all the staff were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food, service and accommodation were all outstanding and I would not hesitate to recommend this HF country house to any walking group looking to organise a self guided holiday.
